when NVC received ur file, need 2 weeks to issue case number

then follow the steps: choose agent DS-261 -> pay AOS fee -> pay IV fee -> complete DS-260 -> send AOS and IV document -> NVC receive document then start counting 8 weeks

in best situation, the case will be completed within 8 weeks, however, according to people share in VJ, the average time is around 10~12 weeks.

u can refer to the link below, good luck!!!

Does anyone know at what stage in the process an ITIN number is issued for the beneficiary?

We didn't do one. You will not get one unless you apply for one.

Hey all,

Just a quick question.  How exactly can I be aware of the date that NVC received my documents?  They were sent to NVC a couple of weeks ago via Fedex and we have the delivery confirmation, however when I login to https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx I do not see any visible confirmation that they have been received.  Just trying to figure out when to start our "8 week" count from.

Thanks in advance.

the website won't show any info about it, u have to call NVC

they will tell u which date ur case arrived, after that day, and u can start counting 8 weeks (8 weeks is what NVC said they need to review ur case, however, according to people shared in VJ, it will take around 10 weeks or more to complete ur case)

good luck then

After filling the DS261 and paying the AOS fee and the IV fee, do I have to wait for the NVC ato ask for the documents or I can send them right away?!

You can send right away so long as you include the cover sheets you were sent.  Just be sure you double and triple check that you've sent everything. You do NOT want to get a checklist!!
