Sorry, but that's not the way things work around here. In fact it hinders the enjoyment of others which is against tos. Anyways as already said, k3 is virtually obsolete

It's not faster than IR1, IR1 & CR1 takes just as long. And your K3 will get closed at nvc

I applied for the K3 after the initial filing of the IR1/CR1 I130 and it have not heard anything since they said they received the application. The receipt doesn't even show u online. When calling I did learn that it may never do anything since the other will process first. I'm thinking they only get issued when they are extremely backlogged. Sure it's not the answer you were looking for but I am a true K3 filer (did it as fail safe in case they get bogged down so my spouse and I can be together).

You won't find many people that were issued a K-3 recently. I believe the stats here on VJ show 21 in the last year, but who knows if some of those were just users entering K-3 in their profiles by mistake. Important Notice:

When both petitions have been approved by USCIS and sent to the NVC or when USCIS approves the I-130 before the I-129F, the availability of, as well as the need for, a nonimmigrant K-3 visa ends. If the NVC receives both an approved I-130 petition and an approved I-129F petition:

  • The nonimmigrant K-3 visa case will be administratively closed.
  • The application process explained below will not be available to the foreign-citizen spouse and cannot be used.
  • The NVC will contact the U.S. citizen sponsor and foreign-citizen spouse, with instructions for processing the IR-1 (or CR-1) immigrant visa. For more information on the immigrant visa process, review the Immigrant Visa for a Spouse webpage.

I understand your confusion and it's always best to be open to help no matter what visa. I have found some members here truly know what they are talking about and some have no clue. In regards to this visa, they are telling you correct info. Best of luck

1/18/2016 paid aos fee

1/28/2016 review 261 to get iv fee unlocked ( unlocked once I did review,was taking to long)

2/1/ 2016 sent AOS & IV packets together to nvc while I waited for iv fee to open to save time.

2/4/2016 paid IV Fee and waited to do ds260

2/3/2016 nvc received aos and iv packets(scan date)

2/7/2016 ds260 completed and now waiting for cc

K3 are issed about 0.007% of the time (up from .003%!) Good luck and best wishes.

Starting the process unfortunately doesnt mean it will go that way but if you have specific questions of course we can help.

Married 11/30/13 -lived together until filing

NVC case # 09/18/2015-case became CR1 (it's true what they say K3 is obsolete-don't even attempt it)

Isn't I-129 that you file for K-3 ? (Since he says he filed I-130 )

For K3 you file both the 1-129 and I-130. But again, it's pointless.

Over 1200 people with K-3 visa's entered the US in 2013....it's not obsolete.
