Hello. My 1-130 petition for my spouse was approved super fast, and was sent to the NVC on October 27th. I found out today by calling the NVC that they have just received the case yesterday, November 12th. She said to wait 5-6 weeks for a case number to be assigned. Does it really take that long? How often should I call? I feel so impatient. I just want to get my husband here soonest! Please let me know your experience.

You got your case approved "super fast". Most of us have to wait five months or longer to get our I-130 approved. If NVC said it takes 5 to 6 weeks, then just wait patiently and thank your lucky star your I-130 got approved so fast. :) As far as I know, it should be about 30 days to get your NVC case number. Congratulations on having your NOA2.

Congrats on moving onto the next step! I'm just a little bit ahead of you by about a month with our I-130.

NOA2 issued Oct. 2

sent from USCIS to NVC Oct. 8.

NVC received Oct. 15

NVC case number assigned Nov. 6, but when I called on the 7th and 8th, they said I had no case number yet. I didn't receive a case number until I called the morning of Nov. 10.

They gave me the IIN and Case number and I was able to log on right away and pay the IV fee and complete the DS261. It showed up paid today and I'm waiting now for the AOS to be invoiced.

Hope this helps!

Still no case# argh....

Same here.

Hey, we share the same NVC-received date. Let's try again tomorrow; according to what others reported, NVC should be assigning case numbers to us either today or tomorrow. Maybe I called today too early.
