    J1 waiver

Hello! i am a j1 exchange visitor with a 2 year home residency requirement. i filed the waiver and sent necessary requirements to CFO and dept of state. Do you have any idea how long will it take to get the approval for the waiver? My visa will expire in June 2019. I was thinking of not renewing with my j1 visa for another two years and will just process greencard if i get the approval. thanking you in advance.
  2. Hello I called and spoke to the NVC last Friday ( 9/21/18 ) and they gave me our Case#. Today my fiancee called to schedule his medical and they told him to come this Friday ( 9/28/18 ). My question is - is the attached screenshot enough to print out and bring to the Medical ? Even if it still says "at NVC"? How long after you are given the case # does it take for them to send it over? Can we still attend the medical with it not being forwarded over to the embassy yet? Thank you
  3. Hello Dear friends, First of all i wanted to thank you all for guiding me in all steps till now. Today i called NVC and Finally they got our K-1 Approved case, and the representative gave me the Case Number. she said we don't need to do anything further but when checking my visa status i am having this message. What exactly should i do ? what could these six steps be that we have to take ? U.S. Department of State IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION At NVC Immigrant Visa Case Number: Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol (Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask.
  4. Hi! NVC confirmed that received my case 28 days ago. My case wasn’t put into the system yet. Is that taking that long nowadays? 4 weeks and counting... How long does it usually take to get the case number? After that, how long should I expect to have my interview scheduled considering that I don’t get a checklist?
  5. Hi all, The NVC got our case on Feb 12th... We called over 3 weeks ago and nothing. We are 2 days short of 8 weeks of wait only to get our case number and preliminary instructions... Any input on what to do? Thank you!
  6. Hello! I got confirmation today that at this point mine and my husband's approved petition has been transferred to NVC and they have received and that at this point we are awaiting the assignment of an NVC case number. Can anyone provide insight into how long this has been taking? Thanks!
  7. Hello! So a little backstory to show where we are at.. My Fiance, Katie (beneficiary) and myself (petitioner) submitted the I-129F in early December 2017 and received the electronic notice a few short days later along with NOA1. In the meantime we collected required documentation for her Visa Interview (Affidavit of support and supporting documents, photos, copies of her birth certificate, passport etc) On June 8th 2018 our application was officially approved! She then completed her DS-160 online and finished gathering required documents for her interview via http://www.ustraveldocs.com/au/au-niv-appointmentschedule.asp and https://au.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/81/K-Required-Documents.pdf She also managed to schedule her medical exam with an embassy approved physician scheduled for July 6th. They said they will hold her results until a case number was submitted (which now that we have a case number we can forward that to them) After two weeks I contacted the NVC to check if they had received my application to no avail. One week later (today) I called and they supplied me with my case and invoice number! Now another hurdle.. Now that we have the case number and invoice number we want to get ahead. Now I KNOW they send the application to the embassy in Sydney and send out a packet to my fiance and myself with specific instructions on what to do next but it seems like we are at a small road block. I've skimmed through all the forums, FAQs and it seems like I'm the only one at this point with this situation and no one has definitive answers. So in summary this is what is going on and what we want to do. WHAT IS GOING ON: fiance has filled, submitted and printed confirmation page of DS-160 fiance has scheduled medical exam with approved physician fiance has gathered all documentation required for Visa Interview NVC has supplied us with case number and invoice number but is showing as "at NVC" when searching for case status WHAT WE WANT TO DO/QUESTIONS WANT: Instead of waiting for Packets in the mail via NVC we would like to get a jump start Q: Do we need to submit a (Select address and agent) DS-261/DS-260? If so why cant I access that when log in to ceac.state.gov ? Only tells me that a DS-160 must be completed, but she already submitted that? WANT: Submit payment for MRV Fee WANT: Submit documents to NVC To say the least we are a bit lost on what to expect from this portion since this forum is not very specific on where we need to go (links, websites), what steps to take (DS-160>DS-261>MRV Payment>submit NVC docs>make appointment etc) during this part of the process and what we need to complete this without having to wait for a packet for WEEKS. Really hoping ANYONE can lead us in the right direction. Seems like when I read about visa applications once it gets to DS-160 part it seems to magically fast forward to interview date with no details in between. I NEED THOSE DETAILS! Thank you!!
  8. Hello,I just get my case number from NVC it was 8 weeks and 6 days I am so happy.I want to know what is the next steps please anyone who has experience or information. Thank u good luck for everyone
  9. This issue is happening in many Embassies in Africa region I'm a bit sure that i'm gonna receive my 2NL for August interview not July as I was suppose to but why the delay?? Anyone have a clue?
  10. I sent out my case at the beginning of March. The money was collected from my account 2 weeks later. I still have not received a case number though.. I did receive an extension letter about 3 weeks later stating that I would get another letter with my case number..? Has anyone else experienced this? I moved to another state last week. And I tried changing my address at the USCIS website. But they want my case number and I do not have one. I already got 1 letter back saying the address change did not work. I did forward my mail from my old address to the new one at the post office. But that wont fully go in until next week. Whenever I call them they say I need to speak to someone that's level 2 but everyone is busy and I should call back... I am just not sure at this point when most people get their case number sent to them.. Thanks
  11. Hi! I received my NOA2 on April 6th and then my notice that my case was sent to Montreal from NVC on May 4th. Now I am not sure what to do.... I have a NVC Case Number and Invoice Number. Do I submit the DS 160? Do I wait? I've seen a lot of people commenting that they see their status as "ready" and I don't even know where to check for that. Help? When I log on to USCIS it still shows my case as "received" even though I received my NOA2 more than a month ago. This whole process is very frustrating and confusing.....
  12. My i-129f was approved April 2nd. The NVC received the case a couple weeks after. I called the NVC to see if we had a case number, we did. It was established on April 19th. Today, they have still not sent our information to the consulate in Rio. My fiance is getting all worked up over this because other Brazilian women have done the same thing that I have done and their file got sent immediately after (or close to the date). I can't really do anything at this point because on the approved i-797 form it specifically says to wait 30 days before contacting them...it's been 12 days. If they already have a case number ready, why will they not send the file? Is anyone else having similar problems? Any words help at this point.
  13. Hello, Can anyone help us on how to request for expediting your case at NVC stage? Also do we need to wait until we have our case number, and invoice ID number in order to be able to request expediting our case? We are currently waiting for our case, and invoice ID number. NVC received our case March the 12th. Because of an USCIS error ( they had lost our case when sending it to NVC Beginning of January ) We have lost over 13+ weeks because of that error, as well as we have a reception planned in October this year for the American side of the family, because a lot of people couldn't be here in Belgium for our wedding. And as a lot of people know a lot of family members live across the United States, so they need to know at least 5 months ahead of time to book their flights... Unfortunately because we lost all this time because of USCIS we are not sure anymore that I'll ( Beneficiary) be making it in time to be there for our reception . As well as my spouse (petitioner) is a full time student in university, working full-time as well, just lost their job, and it would be really helpful for our family, to have our family together as soon as possible so that I ( beneficiary ) can work and my spouse could finally focus on the last year of university and for financial stability. We are CR1. NOA1 - July the 7th 2017. NOA2 - December the 28th 2017. Case was lost because of USCIC. NVC received our case on March the 12th. Currently waiting for case, and invoice ID number. Priority date is July the 3rd. Potomac center. Thank you
  14. Hey all So I am just putting this out there to see if this has happened to anyone else. My CR1 petition was approved by USCIS on Jan4th. It was forwarded to NVC on Feb1 and NVC initially received it on Feb 9th (or so they said until March 12). They told me the usual, wait for two weeks and all. On Feb 23rd it got escalated to a supervisor and they took down my info and everything. Then I call on March 12 and this guy tells me that he sees that my case has been created in the "new database" and to hang up and call back and pick option 5 (for EP/Pivot cases). I am a little skeptical at this point because as far as I know Abu Dhabi Embassy that I applied for is not PIVOT and I wanted to ask for a transfer in Embassy to mumbai anyway and the whole month of Feb they told me I had to wait for a Case number to ask for a transfer of embassy. Anywho, the pivot dept tells me that NVC received my case on March 12. I tried to explain to them that it was received on Feb 9th but apparently that doesn't show up in their system. And since my case is NOT pivot, it shouldn't be there anyway! They told me to email asknvc@state.gov with all of this info and also to ask for a change in embassy. I did all that last week and I still don't have an answer to any of the problems above and now I have to wait for 8 weeks from March 12? even though my case is not pivot! Idk whats going on...any help is appreciated
  15. Prelude After 14 years, I received the petition approval letter that was sent by NVC (National Visa Center), a filing that was done by my sister two decades ago. It took 14 years for me to visit my sister in the US surprisingly to receive a copy of my approval letter that was sent to both of us. I personally did not receive those documents from NVC since I had moved several times and almost forgot about it amidst my life situations. Question Now that I have received a copy of the NVC approval with a Case Number, what do I need to do? I have not received any instructions' mail from NVC. When I now search my case number on the CEAC website it still shows valid, and I am notified to simply follow the instructions sent to me. But I never received those instructions since my address had changed several times and I never followed up do to life's situations. What do I need to do? My sister had paid the affidavit fee $65 back then, but she have lost the invoice number. Now what? Thanks
  16. I might be stressing this a bit too much but I'm getting desperate. I have been calling the NVC for the past month at least once a week and they keep telling me to wait for the 6 week period. Its actually coming up now on Thursday the 11. I'm just worried that the file has been lost in some way. the notice date of my approval notice is 11/30/17. Is anyone else going through this? I actually have a question my fiancé is in the Dominican Republic so it will be going to the Dominican consulate in Santo Domingo can my fiancé actually fill out the DS-160 without the case number? I feel like the more we do on our part while waiting on Case number will relive my mind and make me feel like things will be faster after receiving case number.
  17. I got my NOA 2 on January 4, 2018. In the letter it says to wait for further correspondance from NVC but I see in many discussions to call NVC to get my case number and IIN number and to give them 2 working email addresses. What should I do? And Should I call NVC in a week or two to give them my email addresses and try to get my case number? or wait? I have read the guides..this stage is not clear in the guides or other discussions
  18. Hi everyone, I've been having trouble finding information about old cases, mine is from 13 years ago, I have nothing. and I want to know if this old case will hurt my K-1 visa application. I was illegally living on USA as a minor, my US citizen father cross me and my family. I was a minor we applied for my residency and immigration I went to school there. long story short, we came back to mexico when I was 19 years old, and my application was rejected, he applied for a "forgive" or something and never got an answer back and he just stoped. I dont know where to look.
  19. Hello, I had a few questions. Most of them I think they are right, but just wanted to make sure they are correct. Sorry if I am asking obvious questions, do not want to do something wrong. - I am US Citizen - My wife is conditional resident --------- 1.) USCIS Online Account Number: - I am not sure if I have the online account number. Where to find out? Leave blank or put N/A if we dont have one? 2.) Proof of Marriage: - Does that need to be from marriage to current? Or the date of arrival to US to present? 3.) Fee: - According to Form, the I-751 fee is $595. Bio metric fee is $85 - Should we sent Check of $595 from our Joint Bank Account, or both 595+85 = 680? 4.) Affidavits from Family Friends - When we made those affidavits, we printed 2 and made them sign/notarized both just in case we needed extra - ok to send original or send only photo copy? 5.) Case Number on all documents - When I did the CR-1 Visa Immigrant Process, I put case numbers on all the documents in case papers get misplace or lost. - Is it ok to put case numbers on the documents or evidence? 6.) N/A in forms: - I know we are suppose to put "N/A' on parts of the form that does not apply to us. - Example: (Children Section) We can put N/A in the 1st line. Do not have to put N/A in every blank right? 7.) Part 7 of I-751 Form: - Suppose to choose option "1a" under Petitioners? We are filling out the forms together. - She would be the petitioner right? I would put her info. - Acknowledgement of Appointment at USCIS Application Support Center: Her name needs to be filled out right? 8.) Part 8 of I-751 Form; - Same as Part 7, but details about me right? Thank you.
  20. Hi all, My i-130 was approved nearly a month ago. Since then, I've been calling the NVC to receive my case number and invoice ID so I can continue to pay the fees online. FINALLY, today I was given the information and the representative said I'll be receiving a welcome package with further instruction. When I try to input the Case number and invoice number on the website to pay the fees, it says I can't continue processing yet. I thought once I had the case number and invoice ID, I'd be able to move on??? Anyone else had this happen to them? Thanks!
