Hello everyone !

Received hard copy of I-797 today. Seems like I've been waiting for this paper for my entire life ! I know it's just the beginning but it's exciting and I am just so glad that the process has been started. Our priority date is 11/4. I know we are months away from approval, so I'll be hanging out here, reading, learning and watching along with the rest of you.

How long does it take for status to change to sent yp Department of state.

Congrats! our receipt date was 6/17 also, we haven't heard anything yet. ? I hope we hear we are approved soon, so we can all celebrate! I miss my husband.

March 11th 2015: We got married! (L)

July 15th 2015: I-130 petition sent to Chicago filing center

July 17th 2015: NOA1, petition forwarded to Nebraska

July 21st 2015: NOA1 Hard copy received

January 5th 2016: Petition approved!

January 14 2016: NOA2 hardcopy received

January 14th 2016: Case sent to Dept. of State

February 2nd 2016 : received NVC welcome letter along with case and invoice number

May 11, 2016: DS-261 completed and AOS fee paid

May 19th 2016: Immigrant visa fee paid

July 6th 2016: DS-260 completed

July 8th 2016: Our AOS package was received

August 13th 2016: AOS package review complete and visa interview scheduled for Sept 27th 2016!!!

September 21st 2016: Hubbys medical exam

September 27th: APPROVED!

Remember that website is not current. I used to get upset when seeing that. We should read it as ON September 30th they were working on May 2nd petitions. It's now November 18th which means they are working on June petitions. They are still on track for our 5 months which we can see by the June petitioners that have been approved so far. I see even a June 17 NOA1 case was approved. Our NOA2 is coming soon, @Krissyb93!

I guess they are preparing to slow down for holidays...

I hope not! Most business will slow down around the holidays because the workload slows....USCIS workload stays the same if not increases. I know employees want to take time off for the holidays, but I hope they train some seasonal people to keep up the pace. We want our NOA2!!!
