Hello all,

As my unborn son's due date gets closer and closer, I am getting more and more stressed out. I just want honest, truthful answers.

His due date is 03-12-2014.

My fiancee said her medical exam was on 02-12-2014, she passed it, but had to pick a "slotted time" for her interview schedule. She told me her interview will be on 03-03-2014.

My questions:

How long is the turn around time for the VISA after the interview?

Secondly, I've heard many people say airlines (or whoever) won't let pregnant women fly when they are 37-40 weeks along? Is this true or not? Any true answers are gratefully appreciated!!!

Airlines have different rules in regards to transporting pregnant women. You would be best served by speaking directly to the airline you are planing to use and find out what their restrictions and requirements are.

More important than that, what does your doctor have to say?

Good luck!

That's very close to the deadline of her due date. I would doubt that you will find an airline that would agree to allow her to fly.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

All airlines have different policies. Your best bet would be calling the airline. When my wife came over she was 38 weeks and Japan Airlines policy was as long as she had a medical certificate signed by her doctor with in 72 hours of departure and was under 39 weeks.

As others have said, check with the airline and her doctor. Also, there are some things she can do that will help make things better while traveling. Even while seated she can flex her feet, get up and walk frequently, drink lots of water, etc. If she just sits in her seat the whole time, there is a big chance of her developing blood clots which can be very dangerous.

As someone who has had DVT (not from pregnancy or flying), this would also be a big worry for me. If she DOES fly, please take the advice above very seriously. DVT doesn't always have symptoms and can kill if not treated. Also consider that she may go into labour during the flight.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

The questions answers

1- between 6-14 days. Her visa will arrive on 3/9/2014 or 3/17/2014

2- Most flights do not accept to have her in this time.

almost your baby ready to come on that time. not good time to have fly.

If i was you, and so worry like you,I will let she has the baby in her country, also if you can go ,take a vacation go to be with her during these times, also fix the new baby,s visa to come in USA..

Good Luck

It will take several days to issue the visa.

With your due about a week after that, you have lots of challenges.

Philippine Airlines will not let an expected mother over 35 weeks to board; http://www.philippineairlines.com/products_and_services/before_your_flight/special_handling/expectant_mothers/expectant_mothers.jsp

Korea Air will not board a pregnant mother over 37 weeks; https://www.koreanair.com/local/kr/gd/eng/cs/sn/eng_cs_sn_pg.jsp#1

JAL will let your fiancée board if she brings along an obstetrician: http://www.jal.co.jp/en/health/before/health/people.html#ninpu

Quite apart from the dangers of flying at such a late stage in pregnancy, I do have to ask: what about health insurance/medical coverage if she manages to arrive in the USA and have the baby here? Does she have coverage? My husband arrived in the USA last fall and we're STILL working on getting him good insurance, so I would question whether your fiance would be covered at all for her delivery in the USA. Just another reason I would suggest waiting and having the baby in her home country, the costs here would be outrageous.
