OK. I read the TOS and to my knowledge this question is ok.

I have heard lately a lot of talk about Obama, and congress, doing immigration reform.

I need to start the process to adjust status of my baby but I had a thought and wanted to get some thoughts on this.

Does anyone have any accurate knowledge of what the reforms are supposed to be and do you think its possible

he will grant immunity to everyone here now without legal status?

just a thought..... dancin5hr.gif

Possible? Sure. Will it? No idea. I certainly wouldn't count on it; they've been talking for years about immigration reform and bar some very minor measures in the past decade or so, almost nothing has changed.

There is little change that the house will pass any type of legislation to help immigration and immigrants. The Teaparty Bullies will make sure their xenophobic persuasion prevails over their reason, imho.

interesting. thanks for comments

You will find my attitude typical for the US. The average person does not think sneaking in should grant you any chance of staying and that the people who do this are not of the moral character we want to add to the US residents.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

In many cases you are correct they are here illegally. In my case there is nothing illegal at all but I could benefit GREATLY if amnesty was granted if it covered married spouses by saving me thousands of dollars in fees.

my spouse, nor I have done nothing illegal so there are exceptions to the rule. smile.pnggood.gif

If a form of amnesty was passed, you can be sure there will be a penalty fee attached.

I think the last amnesty carried a penalty of $1,000 and then the normal application costs on top of that.

If you nor your spouse have done anything illegal, what would you be granted amnesty for?
