Well, i figured out the BS factor and now I am pissed. I actually lived with her and everything was fine. The last few weeks I have been fed a bunch of lies. When I confront her saying I know she lied about something and I just ask her to tell the truth. It is all I want. The embassy in Kiev contacted me and said she never even scheduled an interview. I did get her on the phone today and I will speak to her in a few minutes on Skype. She does not know I know the truth. This will be interesting.

Wow that is very hurtful and mean and to lie that she was denied because she is too pretty for you is an INSULT. Well now you know that your in the relationship all by yourself, she should have just be honest with you. Three things, she either does not want to be with you becasue she thinks she is too pretty for you or there is someone else or she does not want to live in the US.

Wow, so she made up about you're being ugly? That's hurtful. Sorry to hear that.

Sorry thing went this way, but good for you for getting to the bottom of it. Inquiring minds want to know: What is the truth you found out? Besides the fake interview?

Wow, I'm sorry. I was hoping she misheard something. Good news is that you didn't bring her to the US with you (which, as much as this sounds horrible right now, had she come to the US, things would have gotten much, much worse for you), and her lie was so stupid, I'd go to one of the many website that list these scammers and put her up there, pic and all.

I hate scammers. Some of the of folks here however need to understand the power of the consular official in the visa process. The CO can basically refuse a visa for any reason they want as long as they document it. They can just say that they feel the relationship is not real.

They operate under the doctrine of consular nonreviewability, (google it and it will open many eyes). A short quote from a lawyers website who was trying to intervene in a visa case.

"Unfortunately, due to a rule known as the doctrine of consular nonreviewability, there was no way to require a U.S. Department of State visa office to justify either its lack of action or rejection of a visa application. We cannot get a federal court to force a decision, because the courts will defer to the U.S. Department of State under this doctrine. The only way to get past this judicial deference to visa decisions is to prove that the visa office acted in bad faith, an impossibility in the vast majority of cases. This is because the applicant has no information from the visa office, much less information about what evidence the decision is actually based upon.

The rationale for the deference, according to visa decisions under the doctrine of consular nonreviewability, is that the United States government has broad powers to determine who it permits to enter its borders, and decisions to deny admission to foreign nationals, barring bad faith, will not be second-guessed by the courts."

Sorry...I know it is hard when you invest so much time and emotion into something and not have it work out. Take Care...Barry

PS. Amy is right. It would have been a much bigger disaster if she would have actually came to the US...

Folks, if you could deny visas based on ugliness, then pretty much all visa applicants from RUB countries, Thailand, Philipines; ie. anywhere American men go to marry younger women, would be denied.

I'm sorry to read you've been led down the garden path. As I posted earlier, I wondered if this was the case, given her reason for the refusal, and her lack of any kind of paperwork citing the correct reason.

It doesn't seem like it at the moment, but I believe you have had a very lucky escape.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

So sorry to hear that. But now you know the facts and can move on.

Sounds like she never intended to join you here and just used you for money or has several men and "options". Happens too often.

Let the consular know the whole story so she can't play the next guy if she changes her mind about immigrating some day.

Her nonchalant attitude and unwillingness to talk more in depth of what happened pointed towards trouble.

I am truly sorry you had to go through this mess.

I'm actually curious about that- is there a way to ensure the consulate is aware of who she is so that should someone else start the process with her, the petitioner can be warned in advance of what has occurred?

OP, I'm so so sorry. You sound like a genuinely good and loving person. I hope that you don't take this as anything that you did wrong. Sometimes in life bad people take advantage of those with big hearts. As others have said, thank God you found out before this turned into a situation that could have been much much worse.

Open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur.
