I spoke to every other CS listed on the USCIS list for Oklahoma. Of the few who were willing to do transcription only they all wanted $200-600. I spoke to Kelly at Dr. Reeves' office. She said they do it all the time, and only charge $25. She said their clinic was a walk-in only, and that if he needed the flu shot at the time it would be another $20. My husband was in and out in half an hour, with no hassles.

Like others, Nik and I have struck out when trying to find (or even get to talk to someone!!) a CS who will transcribe the vaccinations without charging an arm and a leg.

I know there are some of you out there who have had some luck finding a CS who doesn't rip you off, but the experiences are scattered all over the place. Also, as was mentioned in another thread, maybe it's time the VJ community got together and used our experiences in this aspect to help each other out.

I think a pinned thread with a summary post every now and again is the best way, but SunDrop is trying something different - hopefully we can combine our collections!!

So, please let us know if you've found a good CS!

However, thanks to the help and info from fellow VJer, marriedtomrg, we were able to find one in Tallahassee. We had to call twice though, and keep insisting K-1 Visas do not need that. They were trying to say he needed the medical and it would be $175 + needed shots. We also had to insist again when we went in for the appointment because they were, once again, trying to give my husband the full medical. We also took the instructions to show the exception for K-1 Visas, and the paper showing the change about the flu shot now being required for basically all ages. The nurse there was grateful for that, as she had not heard of the change that was made, and made a copy of that paper we brought in.

Be sure when you call people to let them know they only have to fill in the vaccinations and the CS portion at the bottom, and the rest of the form is left blank. I think a lot of them do not know, and think they have to fill the whole thing before signing it. Persistence, you have to have persistence to find someone that will do it without another medical. We felt the 2 hour drive over to Tallahassee was worth the money we saved.

Nice service. It's about an hour drive for me so she allowed me to fax the K-1 vaccination paperwork to her; she then called me back and told me what shots my wife should get. Got the T-dap and MMR done for free at a county clinic. Called Judith to schedule a time to drive up and we were walking back to our car 15 minutes later with the signed and sealed i-693. She also gave us an envelope with photocopies of the signed form.

...I just called this number today and they told me they will only take appointments for a complete medical exam. Apparently they've received a lot of calls for immigration cases and that's what they're doing from now on.

I'm going to contact more on the gov's US Civil Surgeon list but I'm not feeling too hopeful. I'll post any good (and cheap) ones I find. I may just roll the dice considering we already have the complete vaccination documentation sheet.

Here is the place I used in St Louis MO Dr Li-Ming Leung, West Park Medical Clinic 950 Francis Place Suite 213. Telephone 314-727-9697 only charged $50.00 to transcribe immunization take a copy of USCIS's requirement that you do not need a new physical if under a year, they figure that the person coming in should know what needs to be done very nice people.
