Embassy Review : Overall it was time consuming appointment was at 9:30am was there a half hour early, and was told to wait till 9:25. At 9:25 told us 5 more minutes that was okay but when 9:30 arrived so did another k-1 couple and they prceseesed them in before us so we ended up being last one to have interview done. Everything from paperwork to finger print scans was finished in about 45 minutes finally had interview at 11:20 went back to the window with Nadiia and her son Anton. I was told thank you for coming to the interview and she meantioned about my sweater told her Nadiia made it for me and wanted to see my passport, then I went back to waiting room, Anton came out to waiting room a couple minutes later. Nadiia came out within 3 minutes. She meantioned the lady said that there was enough proof of ongoing relationship, and meationed to Nadiia about my sweater and how nice it was, no questions at all. Overall was extremely happy with embassy other then outside personnel that need to allow people to come in the building in the order they arrive.
Rating : Very Good

Event Description
Review Date : February 11, 2011
Embassy Review : Everything went well today after a 3 hour drive to Kansas City we arrived at the office at 10:30 am interviews were schedualed for 11 am for my wife and then 11:30 am for my stepson well to our surprise there was only 1 couple ahead of us so we were called in at 10:40 am, by a very nice lady who introduced herself and directed us to her office, she said before sitting down let me swear you in. We all sit down and then she asked to see all of our identifications their passports and my drivers license evn though I brought mine too.
She then informed us to make things go swift and smoothly she would interview then at the same time, she wanted the answer from my wife first and then my stepson. To begin with she verified each of the names, date of birth, place of birth, and parents names.
She then started asking questions off the I-485 namely 8 of the questions. She then meantioned about the medical portion everything was received and immunizations look good, well just 2 days before I had taking my stepson the get his last shot done of a series of 3 and I had made a copy of the shot record so she took it and added to his file.
She then said she noticed I had been in the military and for how long so I told her and she said thank you for the service you have giving your country. Then of course she verified the Affidavit of Support, so now I have another copy ready of documentation of an increase in pay, she said I already had enough over the poverty level already but she took it and added to file too.
Then came all the information of joint items, and here I am again pulling out copies of lease agreement, joint bank account, joint creditcard, joint electric bill, life insurance policy and my wife being beneficiary, and document of her being my emergency contact ( she asked again are these all my copies to keep?).
I had made a copy of everything so I would be ready and she was very happy about it and complemented us on the organiztion of our files.
The funny thing was she never asked to see pictures till I lifted the photo album off the floor and she asked would you like me to look at them? we pretty much smiled and flip through the pages and meantioned how nice a dress my wife had worn to the wedding in the court house.
After all this was done she and said congradulations you will recieve your Green Cards after she did one more back ground check of some sort, she then went through the rest of the basics about being a Conditional Permanent Resident and we would have to apply for the 10 year, 3 months before the 2 year expires. Well I have also been working on things for my stepson with finacial grants and loans and if she could stamp his passport with I-551, so the check she said she would do later today she did right then only took 5 minutes to do that check and she then stamped both passports.
We said thank you to her and she directed us back to the waiting room, all this was done in 20 minutes so we were really HAPPY.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
