  1. Yes. That's why I'm confused as to why photos are submitted with an initial application.

Yes. That's why I'm confused as to why photos are submitted with an initial application.

    Who says they are?

A lot of people probably do it. You could say it is a part of "other evidence of a bona fide marriage". But others follow the instructions, pick something on their list, and do not send additional photos. I did not send any photos (except the required passport photos).

On the interview letter I do believe it specifically says to bring pictures of your life together.

  2. Thanks alot Beth and Acharf. I have the paperwork printed out and I am going to get them filled out this before the week is over. Then work on getting referral letters and proof ect. Someone suggested that I wait 90 days to file them. We I'm going to reschedule his 01/11 ticket home to sometime in March and perhaps take my time.

I never knew this would be so confusing and difficult, the whole immigration process. It is beyond overwhelming with so many people and articles online that contradict each other. I just dont know whats legal and whats not and I definitely don't want to mess anything up.

    Hey palmer,

You don't need to read online anymore. You don't need to search and read articles. You have been given the correct list of items per your situation (in the first reply), so now you just need to fill those forms out and follow the instructions for the forms found at uscis.gov.

Read each line, fill it out. Slow and steady. Answer the questions. It's like doing paper taxes or filling out a very long application for a driver's license. Good luck.

  3. Lots of misinformation here.

An immigrant may count any legal income in the US as long as they can show that the income will continue from the same source after the GC is received. You will need a letter from your employer stating such.

And unless there are other immigrants, you as the spouse of a USC can add your income to the I-864. You don't need a separate I-864. It explains this in the instructions.

  4. True, but interest or investment returns on that money is income. Even more, a foreign bank/investment account must be reported to the IRS even if it only has one drachma in it.

But that's a whole different discussion not related to OP's inquiry.

Only bank accounts with lots of cash must be reported. I think the minimum is $10K USD. Not any account with one drachma.

This is all just spreading misinformation.
