CelloLover got a reaction from 2022 in Questions about I-134 for the K-1 visa
I recently submitted the I-129F and now I'm preparing for the next steps. According to the K-1 visa guide on this website, I should fill out the I-134 and mail it to my beneficiary so that she can bring it to the visa interview at the consulate.

    source:  https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa/

In regards to this, I have two questions:
Is this step necessary? According to the USCIS website, there is no mention of having to submit an I-134 for the fiance visa process. See the section named "Process for bringing your Fiance(e) to the United States here. If this step is actually necessary, where do I actually send the I-134 to? My financial information is my own privacy and I'd rather not disclose that information to my fiance (though I'm sure it wouldn't change anything). In the official webpage for the I-134 in the section named "Where to File", it says to refer to the I-134 instructions, however the I-134 instructions says to refer to the official webpage (circular logic) or call USCIS (couldn't find the answer through this route). I've also read some posts which say to mail it to the NVC which conflicts with the instructions on VisaJourney.

All those countries will require her passport.

    According to
    https://www.visatraveler.com/blog/visa-free-countries-for-us-green-card-holders/

Mexico and Peru  will waive a visa if she has a green card.

According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Peru she does not need a visa or green card to enter Peru.

According to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Mexico she is also eligible for electronic travel authorization for Mexico. I recommend she go that route.

You can certainly bring errata sheet and request last name to be kept at AOS interview. I wouldn't recommend changing things midway though.

I agree with @OldUser, if she wants to change back, bring updated forms to the interview and explain it to the IO.

    Good Luck!

Not necessarily in this case.  Ukrainians have a pretty easy path to get humanitarian parole to the US.  If Mom really wanted to stay she can go that route and be in the US in 1-3 months.

The medical thing could be a more to do with personality.  My MIL will not go to the doctor unless my wife physically takes her there, or spend a few days bugging her on the phone every 10 minutes.

@CelloLover, check to see what services are available in Warsaw.  Poland has been great with their support

If your mother in law is now in Hungary/Poland/Czech/Romania ask her to do the test there. There are a lot of places where she can get it done.
I actually did that while travelling to Europe last year. For regular blood test I've paid about $5. Did the test 7am and had the results by 2pm.
Also I did the food allergy test. Tested for 100 common foods and paid for it about $50. The food allergy test results took 3 days and they've sent them to me via email. In US the same test starting at $350 and insurance is not covering it.

A GP at a clinic owned by historical will be the most expensive, as will any lab work, images, etc  at that hospital

Finding a GP that is taking new patients on short notice can be a challenge. Start booking now.

You could go to an urgent care facility. Many of them do fill physicals and blood work ups and they are used to doing that for international students, student athletes Etc. I called around for an international student and found somewhere willing to do it for about $300

This - you can self-order any test you want but it will be at a cost. I’d look to see what’s most prevalent lab close to you and check out their website for self-order tests.

Independent outfits such as "Any Lab Test Now" might have packages for purchase.  However, as stated, it probably won't be cheap.

Why have those routine things done in the US?  All blood tests require an order.  You can call around and get quotes from providers on paying out of pocket.

Very much doubt you can buy standard health insurance while on vacation.   Is she  actually planning to overstay/try to adjust status?

Make her an appointment with a GP.  You will, likely, have to pay out of pocket.  This won't be covered by travel insurance.  Yes, blood work will be ordered by the GP.  Probably a CBC, Metabolic Panel, Lipids, etc.

Visitors buy Travel Insurance that includes Medical and Emergency Travel cover.

Her best bet would be to have her check up done elsewhere, much more expensive in the US.

Doctors in Ukraine are pretty good, for the most part.  And way way way less expensive.

Complete the form as friend,  offering to support her ( skip the girlfriend/fiancée/future wife hypothetical ). Apply for the program timeframe. Get her here.

Once here , you can both decide if marriage and lifetime commitment is in the cards and neither of you will have rushed into decisions just to keep her safe. She can apply for asylum if marriage dreams do not come true and you will forever remain the hero and knight in shining armor.

I am not being flippant,  but realistically you don’t currently meet the USCIS filing for a fiancée or spouse without taking other steps…BUT you have an opportunity to FILE this and offer of help to someone whose life is danger.

    1) The Frankfurt embassy replies pretty fast if you email them. But you have to format it properly. Otherwise they will literally delete your email.

Use this form to format the email properly

    https://forms.gle/zpoUzjTD4DXPwHUb7

    Usually its

    C22 - UKRAINE - FULL NAME.

As the title of the email sent to FrankfurtVisaInquiries@state.gov . Obviously change FULL NAME to your actual name. Also don't forget the dashes. I did and had my email deleted (never answered).

    2) Frankfurt and Berlin medical office is booked for months. Berlin even longer than Frankfurt.

Good news is Ukrainians can do their medical "anywhere in Europe". The reason I put quotations around anywhere in Europe is because that is verbatim the instructions I was given. Whether that means continental Europe or European Union I'm not 100% sure.

BE CAREFUL not every doctor that has available slots is capable of doing medicals outside of their region.

For example I booked with this doctor in Paris https://english-doctor-paris.com/visa-medicals/usa-visa-en-imm and ended up having to go to Austria instead. Because the doctor in Paris is not allowed to take appointments from customers who are not processing in Paris.

Best thing to do is to call the doctor office ahead of time and ask them directly if they can do Ukrainian visa's.

    3) I got an email from NVC saying that my case was transferred to Frankfurt. And that I should wait for them to contact me about an appointment.

I waited about 2 weeks. Then came across the information about long waits for the medical. I sent them an email clarifying whether we could indeed do a medical anywhere in Europe.

They replied with standard documentation. Part of that documentation included information on how to make an interview appointment. Thus not only did I get an answer about the medical but somewhat sped up the process of making an interview appointment.

I don't know if I just got lucky and they were going to email me that information soon anyway. Take that information for what it is. Your experience may be different.
    4) I got an email from NVC stating "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview. We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time. There is no need for you to take action at this time."

I emailed Frankfurt about it and they said it was sent mistakenly and that my appointment was still good. NVC doesn't actually schedule your appointment the embassy/consulate does.
Again don't assume if you got that message that it is automatically a mistake. It just was in my experience.

The office in Frankfurt may be overbooked with other Ukrainian applicants, since Frankfurt is the desgnated embassy - perhaps you'd have better luck with Berlin? I hope your suggestion goes through though, it makes no sense that the USCIS//NVC/Embassies are expediting Ukrainian cases only for them to get stuck waiting for the medical appointment.
