callmeshelle got a reaction from Chancy in Maryland drivers license on AOS
Hi. We live in Maryland too! Unfortunately there was no way around it. My husband just waited until he got his work permit(ead) and then got his license. My husband got here June 2021 and his ead in May 2022. Ppl He got his license in Sept 2022 and the expiration is his birthday 2031.
You can submit your passport to get a itin to have a non federally compliant maryland driver’s license but it wasnt worth it for us cause then he’d be without any ID and we need it for bars, lounges etc

It’s more than sufficient. You should file now because the wait times are extremely long for K1.
I will always say this: I do not believe that text messages/chats are good evidence, you have plenty of other more quality evidence. Similarly, “letters of support” from friends and family are also not high quality evidence. Personally we included none of that in our petition.

You offer the service free for VJ members and that is lovely. I commend you. Thank you for clarifying how you manage to get them Certified Copy in hand in an hour. …

I can have certified copies in the same day, I request them when I file the marriage license. I can pick people up at the airport, drive them to the License bureau (10 Min) for license, drive to Symphony Park ( I do many marriages there), walk or drive to the county clerks office ( It's that close to the park) , record and get certified copies in hand then and now. Only time you need to wait is if you do it on Sunday, Clerks office isn't open that day, and I can get them first thing Monday morning.

When we took our marriage certificate to the County Clerk’s office to have it recorded, I was able to get certified copies made and in hand that same day. This was during the pandemic. So it really depends on where one lives.

I receive i797 and ead card on the same day. The tracking number uscis gave was tracking the actual card. My mail
man delivered i797 and forgot to give the card. He came back after 1 hour and told me he forgot it. He scanned it and then gave it me. Now the website said delivered

8 months for AP and EAD. Schooling wouldn’t be a reason to expedite. You picked the wrong visa. Get married and do immigrant visa process.

callmeshelle reacted to Timona in Ukrainian-American woman travels to Poland in unsuccessful bid to get family to U.S.: "They just turned us away"
I don't see this as Biden fault. This is just pure stupidity on the lady. How was she expecting to bring them to US without any documentation/ valid visas etc because she's "USC?" I mean, if her belief was true, wouldn't all Ukrainians be in the US by now since no documentation is needed?
And why does it have to be US that they want to go to? If safety is priority, Poland is fine. Poland is already allowing Ukrainians without documentation. So, they should be fine by now.
I, as USC, should also demand to bring my distant relatives to US because the cost of living in Kenya is high.
Think people 🤦🏽♂️

I am not insensitive to her plight, but she should have asked here first. We would have told her "No travel document = no flight to the US".

My biometrics was scheduled over the weekend! I've been using the "case tracker" app others have said (with notifications turned on!!), and it didn't notify me. I checked my.uscis today which I've only done once every 1-2 weeks since I created it and there it was! Just in case anyone was relying too heavily on 3rd party apps like I was haha.

You can also download the pdf version of the notice from the online account and print it. You can also carry that to your ASC

So quick update. My biometrics was today at 12pm and we arrived to the ASC around 11:15. We waited in the car for 5 minutes before going to the door and presenting my documents. The lady said "You're pretty early"! She looked over my documents and asked me to wait behind a yellow line. By this about 5 more people got in line behind me. 3 minutes later she opened the door and called us in. I went to another lady at a desk who looked over my documents once more and handed them back to me with another piece of paper. She then told me to sit in the waiting area but before I could sit, a third lady called me to conduct the biometrics process. She took around 4 minutes total to take my photo and all 10 finger prints, told me I was done, wished me good luck and I was out of there. When I got to my car and looked at my watch the time was 11:28 am

Hey! Don't go worrying, I filed at the beginning of August and mostly everybody was getting their biometrics so quickly. I didn't get mine until the end of September. You will get yours eventually 🙂 it just all comes down to the state you are in and how they are handling everything 🙂

Hello, this isn’t regarding AOS progress but if anyone is in state of Utah adjusting status you can successfully obtain a driver license just thought I’ll let you guys know! It’ll be limited until green card/combo card is obtained and good for one year!
