Hi Fellow K1s,
 
The number one thing we can do right now to ensure that we get reunited with our loved ones, is to contact your US elected officials. Let them know that you are a constituent of their district or state, that you are in the K1 process, and that you are concerned that K1s are not being addressed adequately during the pandemic. Include a few sentences of your personal story so they remember you. Urge them to speak to their contacts at the State Department and ask the State Department to:
 
1) Clarify the position of K1s in regards to the EOs on immigration (we believe they should not be affected as they are non-immigrant visas which are not specifically denied) 
 
2) Deem K1 visas mission critical visas during the pandemic and provide travel exemptions as such
 
3) Make a public statement regarding their intended plans for K1 processing so that we all can be informed 
 
I contacted my representative last week and was surprised with how quickly they responded and how seriously they took my concerns. The more noise we make the better! The squeaky wheel always gets the grease!
 
Contact your representatives and post below with confirmation so we can shower you with applause and likes! I’m going to contact my senators (North Carolina) tonight.

Your situation is a million times better than many here.  Even before Covid (which is the real villain here) many members (including me) spent as much as year or  more separated from our spouses.  I am not criticizing .....just trying to put things into perspective......good luck and hang in there.

Just think of how lucky you are to see her every 3-4 weeks! Many people go a year without seeing their significant other and if this was pre covid you’d still be in normal processing times! Many countries are closed to US citizens so the option of visiting is completely gone AND many countries it costs a fortune to call their significant other and wifi is basically non existent so from my view you guys have a LOT going for you than many many others. One thing you need to know when starting the immigration process is to have patience. Ou can’t predict the future, it is in someone else’s hands. But you can vote in November.

Do you guys know that one scene from the office, where half the office is working miserably while Robert California took the other half out for fun? And then Kelly screams "I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE!" And cries every once in a while? And no one says anything cause they are all miserable and they just continue their work?

This was the most common one I met. Also, once my husband enrolled in a university here, then somehow everyone assumed he was on a student visa. This included my mom sending me messages some months ago saying "Did you hear people on student visas might have to go back to their countries because of the virus?!" and I thought, "Wuh, huh? How is this relevant to me?" and she said "Your husband, he was a student, so he will have to go back!!" The funny part is, he had already graduated by the time she was freaking out over this - and keep in my mind, my mom was the joint sponsor for my husband's spousal visa, lol, and she still has no clue how anything works.
 
THAT is a new one....where on Earth did they get that from??
