  1. Yes, that’s standard processing time. For some countries with large backlogs it’s 3 years.

  7. Bank of America doesn’t ask for any proof of address documents.
  8. ***topic moved from What Visa do I need forum to USCIS forum as the question is about USCIS online update*** It’s normal. My I-485 showed “case closed” after approval too.
  9. *** Topic moved from Bringing family members (other than spouses) of US citizens forum to Adjustment of status from work/tourist/student visas forum***
  10. Just a quick remark that you have posted in the Bringing Family members of US citizens to America which is for those petitioning relatives other than spouses. For spousal visa filers, head to the CR1/IR1 spousal visa forum. If you didn’t find August 2023 filer group there, you’re more than welcome to start a thread to see the progress of fellow filers
  11. ***Topic moved from Bringing Family members (other than spouse) to the US forum to General Immigration discussion since the main question is about re entry permit***
  12. ***Duplicate thread removed. Please don’t start multiple threads asking same or similar questions*** probably around 12 months
  13. NVC’s customer service is outsourced to some third party company so when if they did have a working phone #, I wouldn’t recommend it. I suggest the USC petitioner reaches out to their senator or representative to try and resolve this. It’s worth a shot.
  14. It looks like you don’t have any and you can’t show what you don’t have. Just apply, answer questions truthfully and see what happens. What everyone is saying here is don’t get your hopes up too much so you will not be disappointed if the visa is denied.
  15. It depends how hard or easy it is to marry in SA. For example, in my country there is a mandatory 30 day wait from when you request to get married and then the actual ceremony, making it difficult if you do not have the luxury of a month long vacation. Have your fiancé find out what the requirements are, sometimes there are stipulations for foreigners getting married too. Another pro of Utah is that it is a US based marriage certificate so if you ever need certified copies it is easy to request them.
  16. *** Topic moved from General Immigration discussion to AOS work/student/work visas as the question is about adjusting from a work visa***
  17. Becoming a US citizen has no bearing on I-824 processing. US citizens routinely file that form and it grants them no special considerations.
  18. Hijack post removed. Please do not insert your own questions in other members threads; start your own instead. VJ Moderation
  19. ***Unrelated post was split off into its own thread in the K1 fiancé visa forum***
  20. Above was split off from an unrelated thread in the spousal visa forum. Spousal visa interviews are scheduled by the NVC. VJ Moderation
  21. It’ll stay at California service center. All I-129f are processed there with an exception of a small percentage that get transferred to Vermont service center due to certain criminal background of the petitioner.
  22. Only applies to spouses of GC holders.
  23. ***Topic moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports*** Sounds like whoever was assigned those days/cases is taking his or her sweet time. It happens, sometimes you get assigned to a non-efficient IO.
  24. Zombie thread locked for further comment. VJ Moderation
