  1. So when replying to RFE in January, did you include everything they asked for, including a new copy of the I-485?
  2. We can point you to the right direction, like strongly suggesting reading the I824 form and instructions where it tells you which form and edition you have to file, but we can’t read it for you or fill it up for you. You will have to put in a lot of work and research on your own if you’re unable to hire a professional. I-824 form and instructions: https://www.uscis.gov/i-824
  3. *** Topic moved from Process & Procedures to Progress Reports ***
  4. I think you should hire professional help / lawyer to help you with the rest of the case.
  5. *** Topic moved to Off Topic forum as the thread is about opinions on poverty guidelines rather than seeking specific advice ***
  6. That sound’s really frustrating, I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’d definitely do all of the above. I heard that the Ombudsman is useless but doesn’t hurt to try I suppose. Best bet would be your local congressperson. Did you try also the USCIS online appointment scheduling for an ADIT stamp? It’s recent and I do not know how/if it works but it’s worth a try: https://my.uscis.gov/en/appointment/v2
  7. ***Hijack post split and old thread closed for comment***

  9. It doesn’t count. I believe the only exception is spouses of active duty military
  10. You booked a flight without having a visa in hand? From the US department of state website: There is no guarantee you will be issued a visa. Do not make final travel plans or buy tickets until you have a visa. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html Cancel your flight and book an interview date. If the closest one is January 2025 then it is what it is and you’ll have to wait until then.
  11. Correct. Lawful permanent resident AND 3 years of continuous residence in the US. I-751 was introduced to combat immigration fraud through marriage (which is an ineffective strategy but that’s a whole other topic). In other words, if you can show your marriage was genuine, you’ll get a 10 year GC. Filing I-751 is not optional. It HAS to be done.
  12. *** Hijack post removed. If you have questions, please start your own thread ***
  13. Duplicate post in a different forum removed. Please do not post duplicate threads. Agreed. there is no such thing as easier. Both processes take a lot of research, effort and preparation. Casablanca is a difficult consulate which requires more preparation and effort, whether a K1 or CR1.
  14. What does the online case status say? Before that happens the petitioner needs to submit documents to NVC along with some other civil documents from your sister before you’re put in the line for the interview. Also depends on what the priority date is.
  15. Non-contributory post removed. Thread closed as OP indicated they do not wish to engage further.
  16. Post was removed for telling others not to post which violates the following provision of VJ’s terms of service: - Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Forums. TOS can be found at the bottom of the page. We’re all here to share information, perspectives and opinions. 18. *** Topic moved from US Citizenship forum to Effects of Major Family changes on Immigration benefits to be among similar threads ***
  19. Read this cautionary tale from a K1 applicant regarding filing late. Unfortunately it took a minor traffic incident where the OP was a passenger to be detained by ICE:
  20. I-129f is ok even if I-94 is expired as long as marriage took place within 90 days. If marriage didn’t take place within 90 days, then I-130 is required.
  21. *** Topic moved from K1 forum to AOS K1 forum as the question is about adjustment of status ***
  22. *** Related threads on AOS RFEs merged *** Does your copy of DS-3025 state that all vaccination requirements have been met? There’s a box that needs to be ticked.
  23. It doesn’t substitute financial requirements You can try to find a joint sponsor if you’re unable to show financial requirements on your own.
  24. *** Hijack post split off into its own thread *** For a peace of mind, you can email the consulate asking them to extend the expiration date due to interview appointment delays.
