    90 day rule is not a USCIS thing but a DOS thing and it’s completely unrelated. Assuming there was no intent to adjust prior to entry, you can apply at any time.

    K3 became obsolete so it’s not a viable option. Plus you do not want to be issued a K3 because it will not make your wife a PR upon entry like CR1/IR1 would. You’d have to adjust status and that’s more paperwork and more money and time. You’re correct on those being your 2 options for no or minimal time apart, DCF being the superior option (if it’s granted). Imho, I wouldn’t bank on that. You’re the petitioner and USC and free to leave Ireland for US at any time to start the job. It’s not really related to your wife in any way. USCIS does not care about separation as it’s a natural part of the process for most going through it.

    Next time don’t volunteer information. Keep your answers short and to the point. You could’ve simply said I’d like to explore the city of Boston. You mentioned it was just a “casual conversation” but there is no reason to have casual conversations with CBP.

    Yes. It says “list all the beneficiary’s prior spouses” Interpret all questions literally. It doesn’t say if retired, don’t provide previous employment information - it asks to list ALL prior employment regardless of current situation

    And USCIS will grant an AP once he comes to the US and files for adjustment but as it was mentioned, it can take months and it’s not unheard of some waiting a year.
