  3. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** You have received great advice so far. Your questions can be answered by reading both the official I-129f instructions and the VJ Guide. You should study and research those and come back if you have questions after reading that. Immigration requires a lot of reading and research.
  4. I hope you do not use that to explain it to USCIS - it was not fast and you had ample time to inform them. I wonder what exactly you were waiting for, were you not going to inform them at all? I’m sure USCIS would have the same questions. Maybe @Family can advise.
  5. My guess would be that it was done with the aim of reducing outside normal processing time requests.
  6. What is the country?
  7. Age has nothing to do with getting an interview waiver or a faster appointment.

  9. Yes, please do apply ASAP! No, you should apply now. Once you’re over 75 days of the 90 days, you can no longer apply for an SSN and will have to wait until either GC or EAD are approved. You don’t want to be stuck without an SSN for potentially months since SSN is used for so many things in the US. It will be in your maiden name - they will want to see a GC or EAD in the new married name in order to change the name. Once you get those down the line, head to the SSA office and apply for name change on the card.
  10. Yes, there will be a fee for a medical exam which varies country to country and a $200 USCIS Immigrant fee to print out the GC once the beneficiary enters the US (can be paid after receiving the visa in passport).
  11. Sure, you can request one but you won’t get one until you receive a GC or EAD. So you’re stuck without an SSN for potentially months. Meanwhile, there are many threads where employers refuse to add a spouse to a health insurance plan due to lack of SSN or can’t be added to a bank account without one. K1 applicants are eligible in the first 75 days because technically they can work up until 90 days (years and years ago they used to issue EADs at POE so you could work right after arriving and then apply for another EAD as part of I-485 where it was processed so fast they wouldn’t have a break in employment).

  15. NVC fees are waived when filing directly with the consulate.
  16. Yes, you won’t hear anything until RFE, approval or denial. I wouldn’t send them things they haven’t asked for but if you want I assume you can mail it to the service center that is processing it.

  18. *** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures *** No, it doesn’t work that way. You will have to apply for a waiver based on religious or moral grounds. This will add about 2 years to the process plus the fees. And as you mentioned, this will be an obstacle since your religion doesn’t prohibit vaccines and you’re only specifically don’t want a COVID vaccine while getting all the others.
  19. Standard processing timeline seems to be about 22 months.
  20. You would only include her if she’s a dependent on the taxes. Otherwise, the household size is two unless he also has any minor children. As long as his current income meets the requirements, it doesn’t really matter what his tax return says for the previous year. Make sure you provide proof of current income like paystubs and employment letter. I believe I-864 instructions mention 6 months of most recent paystubs. If his income is well above, then I wouldn’t bother with assets and bank statements. I would strongly advise you to get the SSN now before you reach day 75 out of 90. Having an SSN makes your life so much easier. Go in person and request it. It will be in your maiden name. You can change it once you either get an EAD on GC reflecting your married name.
  21. That’s what the language suggested to me as well. I’m not seeing how the language suggests that they haven’t seen the evidence.
  22. The electronic file is there but not the physical. It takes longer to get there via a diplomatic pouch. I believe you would. I would wait. What’s the rush? Filling one now will not speed up the transfer.
