Lin&Chou reacted to chancecody in photo for Advance Parole application I-131
Hello,
It is always very important to follow the instructions. The USCIS officers are following the Policy Manual. Also, what is i-145? I-485 you mean? Regardless, my suggestion is to always follow the instructions to avoid RFE and delays. I did mine within 30 days.
Source:
If you are outside the United States and filing for a Refugee Travel Document, or if you are in the United States and filing for an Advance Parole Document:
You must submit 2 identical color photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of the filing of this application. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched.

Lin&Chou reacted to KayDeeCee in K1- I-134 form question
Answer all questions fully and accurately. If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise directed. If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless otherwise directed.

Lin&Chou reacted to KayDeeCee in K1- I-134 form question
The beneficiary is listed in Part 2 of the form. That section is about the sponsor's dependents, such as children.
Follow the example form here on VJ . Do check either one and add the explanation down in part 7 >

Takes 4-8 weeks these days to receive NOA1

Lin&Chou reacted to SalishSea in I-129 submitted I-485 with IOE number
EAD is taking close to 8 months, so biometrics will not be for many months.

Lin&Chou reacted to powerpuff in DS160- Interview
You should fill out the DS-160 when the consulate tells you to. Wait for their instructions. NOA2 validity can be extended up to a year in 4 month increments. You can email the consulate when and if the time comes that you’re still pursuing your application.

Lin&Chou got a reaction from Lorraine1149 in New K-1 RFE Master List
Hi all, we have received the RFE on Feb 9th and requested us to submit more evidences about meeting in person for the past two years
we have most of the photo ready, airbnb receipts, my passport copy and stamps. however my fiance whom is a US citizen has lost his passport last year.
his new passport did shows that he lost his passport and it is a new replace passport.
just wondering if he only submits the copy of it, would it be ok? or is there anyway we could tracked his travel history like I-94 ?
also if we do not have any other people's statement would above evident good enough to fulfill the RFE request?
Thank you all for the help

Lin&Chou reacted to jess.y in VJ timeline update
Hello everyone!
im sure many if not most of us are doing some form of waiting with the whole K1 process.
not to be naggy or anything but I just wanted to kindly ask if any of you have any new updates, whether it’s interviews, NOAs, RFEs... please remember to update that into your timeline!
Although it doesn’t make things go faster, it could at least help give the rest of us a better of idea of what’s going on and the general timeline.
thank you very much!

Lin&Chou reacted to geowrian in NOA1- NOA2 for K1 Visa
All I-129Fs for a K-1 are initially processed at CSC.
Some may be transferred to VSC later, if necessary (usually certain types of background/criminal checks).

Lin&Chou reacted to kris&me in K1 Package processing time
there is a tracking number on the cash register receipt at the post office (even when not sent by certified mail)
if she discarded it and paid by debit or credit card , the post office can retrieve it thru there system

Lin&Chou reacted to JojoandTomas in K1 Package processing time
I also have not received NOA1. We sent our K1 July 2. But they are probably just backed up

Lin&Chou reacted to Lucky2Lucky in K1 Package processing time
For future reference ways include tracking. Not only will it be beneficial for your peace of mind but you will have proof it arrived where it was supposed to, Has the check been cashed yet?

Lin&Chou reacted to Raychelle in K1 Package processing time
Hi! Don’t worry about it too much. I’ve seen a lot of people who sent theirs around the last week of June and are still waiting for NOA1. 😊

Lin&Chou reacted to geowrian in K1 Package processing time
I-129F*
I-129 is for a worker.
It's not unheard of to take over 2 weeks to get a NOA1. Everything is slow right now.
No tracking number? I'd suggest avoiding that in the future. Priority Mail flat rate options are like $5-$2 or so, depending on size, and normally arrive within a couple to few days.
The first thing to check is if the payment was redeemed (i.e. if the check was cashed, card charged, etc.). If so, a NOA1 should be coming in the mail. If it takes over 30 days, contact USCIS.
If not, you can contact the lockbox to see if they can assist: lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov

He can move during the process. He just needs to update his mailing address with the USCIS.

Lin&Chou reacted to SalishSea in Questions about K1 applications
Please read the directions on filling out the I-129f from USCIS.gov. There is no 'proof of on-going relationship' component to the petition. No love story, chat history, or emails. Please read and research the requirements.
If you have a valid visitor visa, you can visit, (subject to CBP/EO etc), but you cannot use it to "live" in the US. Visa interviews take place at consulates abroad.
