In one of the Q&A during the USCIS webinar the question was when do you re-use the biometrics and he responded if 1) the applicant already submitted its biometric to USCIS in the past and 2) the case is ready for the adjudication otherwise.

My interpretation of the first part is there should be the biometrics should be submitted to the USCIS under the same A-file in the past and on the second part it means the case is passed the 3rd year and 5th year anniversary and thus they are technically ready for adjudication. For example when I filed April 1 it was based on the 90 days rule meaning during this 90 days my application is not ready but effective July 1 given the 5 year anniversary passes my case is ready to be adjudicated IF there is an empty spot for the interview.

So it will be interesting to see during the next couple weeks how many biometrics are going to be re-used for March and April filers and whether anyone can get a straight interview scheduled without the biometrics.

Not a difficult one / if you answer the 1st 6 correctly,   they stop and say passed/  mostly government and our 3 branches
just thank God we are only a few hundred years old and this is not China or Japan or another country that has thousands of years to study which makes us the easy one

And give people with money priority? Money already talks in this country and the poor and middle class get  nothing- let’s at least keep immigration somewhat fair.

HI and sorry if I missed this discussion … curious to know: why didn't Application Support Centers open on June 4th along with Field Offices? Why the delay? Any word on when they may open besides "Application support centers will resume services later."

Noom's N-400 biometrics appt was scheduled for April 2 but then canceled due to Covid-19. Since his biometrics for ROC was completed on Sept 20, 2019 (9 mos ago), I'm assuming they may decide to re-use the biometrics and move him along to the interview stage...just waiting to hear something, anything.

    Thanks,

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
    K-1
Slightly faster arrival in the US
        More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.

    CR-1
Slightly slower arrival in the US
        Less expensive than K-1
        No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

Ceremony was at 9AM today. People started lining up when I got to the parking lot at around 8:40. We were let in around 9 am, total 45 or so. We were sat in a room. The citizenship packets were kept on the chairs. A brief speech were given congratulating the new citizens and then the oath of allegiance. After that the naturalization certificates were handed out asking us to check all the info (names, etc.) on it VERY carefully. We were all out in about 15 mins. Everything was done maintaining social distancing.
Good luck to everyone waiting for this final step.

And I am done! I had my ceremony today and it was very low key.

You join about 50 others and line up outside waiting to go in one by one. Masks on, no visitors, have your paperwork filled out and bring all your previous cards etc.

Once you're through security you go into a room and surrender your green card and your appointment letter. You're seated 6 feet from someone else and there are 5-6 rows of people (approx 50 people in attendance). Very short speech is given by the department head, there's a packet on your seat containing information, passport application, US flag and the pledge/oath written. You stand up and hold your hand up with the others and the Oath is read to which you say I do. After that you're called up to the desk and collect your certificate (check everything is written correctly) then you leave. I was in and out within 25 mins and actually lined up outside longer than anything else.

I can't believe the journey is over! What a buzz to be completely finished... now just the passport!

Good luck everyone, the finish line is nearly there!

It is FINISHED!! Oath ceremony complete. Husband was in and out in 15 mins. They must where a mask and no visitors can go in. He said they did 4 people at a time for the oath to practice social distancing. His appointment was at 2:00. There was also another ceremony that took place at 1:00.
Congratulations to all of you who are becoming citizens!!

Folks- just had a word  with a USCIS call center agent - and was informed that most likely the Application support centers  will start functioning from Monday, June 22nd. He also indicated that case processing is being carried out in the back-end , meaning that the fingerprints /or lack thereof is not preventing/delaying the case review.

So you think it's better to ask complete strangers on an internet forum than for the OP to believe his spouse who had to fill all kinds of documents and provide all kinds of personal information so that OP can come to the USA?

I'm confused - do you think she's scamming you or something? She's your wife, I'm sure she can explain to you why she needs your SSN. I've never thought of hiding my SSN from my husband and I can always see his, it's kept with all the documents.

lean to trust her she is your wife, she file for you & brought you over. if she doubt you, you will not be here, at least not through her. asking you for your social security is for your own good when you file ur tax jointly, for ur future paperwork with uscis. if you think you don't trust her why did you marry her?
