Impact of office closures on Biometrics

March / April Filers - has anyone received a Notice of Appointment for Biometrics yet (post June 4th date)?  Curious to know what the timelines are going to be like . I feel this is likely where the most backlog is going to be

ASC backlogs likely won't be that bad. The process takes only a few minutes per person, so they likely can process hundreds per day per ASC. I would not expect a significant backlog at the ASC level...the backlog will be with the field offices. Interviews and case reviews are a much more time intensive task.

biometric capturing is not backlogged but the background checks will be messy I guess.

I don't anticipate any letters with dates before actual opening date is here. We've seen the date being moved and if the overall situation doesn't get better they'll probably move them further

filed for my n400 april 29th (this year) so definitely wondering what the wait will be like. I'm in TX. Before covid19 it seems like people were getting scheduled for appointments in about a month. Wondering if after june 4th will i possibly get an appointment for july or will it take longer. Moving mid July so will have to change address on application after that and therefore ASC location change. 🙈

I filed my n400 this week and for NY it's showing a 21 or 23 days wait time. I believe that is for biometrics. Not sure if it'll change but thats what I see in my account.

Biometrics likely wont be a huge backlog. The interviews and oaths will be heavily backlogged. If they open in June, that would mean there's a line of additional 3 months.

Filed for my husband in mid March.  No biometrics letter yet.

Folks- just had a word  with a USCIS call center agent - and was informed that most likely the Application support centers  will start functioning from Monday, June 22nd. He also indicated that case processing is being carried out in the back-end , meaning that the fingerprints /or lack thereof is not preventing/delaying the case review.
