Guam is a US territory.  You won't be abandoning LPR status if you reside on US soil.

My wife changed her name after we got married, and kept her maiden name on her Russian passport also or mostly due to the massive bureaucratic process necessary to change it.  She has had no issues traveling either when she had her GC in her married name, or after she got her US Passport.  She always travels with a copy of our marriage certificate with her, but in 7+ years and multiple trips through many countries, no one has ever asked to see it.

Since your husband is filing jointly that is where you'll claim your Recovery Rebate credit of up to $1800 ($3600 if your husband also didn't get his stimulus).

After further searching, it turns out it is available in TX: https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/tpstPrgm.htm "(TPST) program authorizes Driver Education schools that have been certified by the Department to administer the driving test for Class C non-commercial driver license applicants."

But it's expensive (rates can vary): https://www.texasadultdriverseducation.com/resources/your-driving-test-third-party-testing/takeyourdrivingtest/ "Driving Test Fee is $100 (this includes the use of our vehicle)."

EAD/AP based on pending I-485 is processed at National Benefits Center (NBC) not TSC. Either way, both the I-765 and I-131 are outside of processing times. You should submit an online inquiry: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt

    Hello,

Unfortunately, AOS has been taking a really long time in recent years.  Have you filed for EAD and/or AP?

I do not believe an immigration lawyer could speed up anything.

I actually asked about not having a SSN when getting a Texas ID or DL, I was told they had a form for a person to sign

Click on that link. "Individuals who do not have a SSN, have never been issued a SSN, or are not eligible for a SSN can visit any driver license office and complete an affidavit attesting to such. Providing a false statement in connection with this affidavit will result in the cancellation of the driver license or ID card and may result in criminal charges. An affidavit is not acceptable for the issuance of a CDL."

Patrichulaa reacted to racheld08 in Getting a Texas driver's license during AOS
My husband (who came on a K1 visa) recently had difficulty getting a TX driver's license during AOS. We read about a lot of people that were unsuccessful until they at least had the EAD, but he finally managed to get one, so we thought we'd share what worked. (As an aside, he has been driving with an international driver's license that is valid for a year, but we had a hard time finding a bank that didn't require a US driver's license and knew that car insurance would go down over time with experience driving under a US driver's license, so the sooner he had one the better.)
He originally went to DPS with his I-94 that was going to expire in less than a month. He was told his license would expire when the I-94 did, and then he'd have to apply for a new license all over again with other documentation. We had just received the email notice that our AOS, EAD, and AP applications had been received and our NOA1 was on its way. He showed the woman the email to see if the NOA1 would work as proof of lawful presence and she thought it might. Sure enough, the next day the NOA1 arrived and he headed to DPS. Of course, this letter only says you've applied for adjustment of status and your case has been received, and the lack of expiration date plus the giant words at the top "THIS IS NOT A VISA" didn't sit well with whoever he showed the paperwork to that day. He was advised to return when he had a document that showed some sort of approval, like the EAD if not the green card.
I wasn't pleased since the DPS requires "proof of lawful presence," and even though my husband's application for residency is pending, he IS lawfully here in the meantime. I ended up finding a document on the DPS website that showed that for our category (applicants for adjustment of status), the NOA1 served as proof of lawful presence. I circled and highlighted the words "form I-797" (NOA1) and "PENDING adjustment of status" and sent my husband back to plead his case. It worked.
    https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf
Whereas before he was sent away almost immediately, this time they at least tried to put his information in the computer to check for lawful presence. In his case, it wasn't instantaneous and he was told he would have to wait for a letter in the mail after further verification. (You can read about this process- SAVE- at the top of the document I linked to.) He got his letter a week later, took his driving test, and now has a TX driver's license that's good for a year.
Moral of the story: if you're in Texas and just married your K1 fiance, take all your documents AND the DPS "Verifying Lawful Presence" guide and convince them to put your fiance's A# in the computer for SAVE to decide whether you're lawfully present or not. Otherwise, they're not experts on the K1-AOS limbo and will probably just shoo you away out of ignorance or for convenience.

The process is a little stressful but you have to be really patient,
    1. Go to the mega center, you can’t do it without a SSN
    2.  You have to take the test, in my opinion it was fairly easy
    3. if you pass the test, you are given a temporary license that you can only use with someone older than 21 present
    3.  You have to take the driving practical, I went to a private driving school to take it because the dmv has a long wait time. Follow the instructor instructions and you will pass.
    4.  After passing, You go back to the dmv with the sealed result. Do not open for any reason and they will give you a license that expires with your visa date.

Then show them your AOS noa1, they will tell you they need further verification. It takes five days, you can call Austin to verify if they are done. Then go back to the dmv for a 1 year license.

Note: not every worker at the dmv understands the k1 visa, you might have to explain it yourself.

i used an app called DMV Permit practice test genie, it was quite helpful.

    Goodluck with the process

Biometrics appointment is not an interview. They will just collect your fingerprints, photo and signature. You will take your updated 693 to the AOS interview when it's scheduled.

You can always print the instructions to show the officer that your medical is still valid. Some of them are not aware of how a K1 medical works.

Use this post to find one that will only do the vaccines.

Your foreign medical is valid "forever" as long as you filed for AOS within 1 year. You will only have to update the vaccines.

This is my situation. First appointment for March 23rd, second appointment today. I did notice that the appointments were for different forms (I485 and I131 respectively..). But I've not received a cancellation notice for either, and obviously have not attended and don't plan to attend the one today. I unfortunately don't have an online account or anything to track this, and the lack of communication is very stressful.

Patrichulaa reacted to Greenbaum in Medical expiry
Why not get your I-693 completed with the vaccinations and then send the entire package and as there are no worries or delays. You will have a delay as your AOS package is not complete. Your I-94 will expire but if you are married and you delay filing the AOS for a month or so you'll me fine. We have seen some who didn't submit their AOS for 6-9 months after the I-94 expiration with no repercussions.
  22. Thanks
Patrichulaa reacted to Ayrton in Medical expiry
You don't need a new medical if you file AOS up to 1 years after the medical in your home country.

You don't need a I-693 to file for AOS, you can bring it to the interview with the updated vaccinations.
Packages sent before Feb 24 won't be subject to the new rules. They're probably trying to avoid that

Patrichulaa reacted to geowrian in Apply for jobs while AOS pending
You're totally free to do so and without any immigration issue. Applying for a job is not an acceptance of engagement of work. You can interview and receive a job offer fine. You can even use said job offer to request an expedite of the EAD (certainly not guaranteed to get it approved).

My wife did this just fine. Her employer was willing to hold the job open until she had the EAD. She started working right after she got it.

That said, whether or not it's a good idea depends on several factors. Type of work, region/demand for that work, etc. In my wife's field, they have a shortage of her profession so it was an easy call to apply sooner. For others, they may not be willing to hold a job for weeks or months, in which case you not only miss out on the job opportunity, but you may not be considered for a new job there when applications open up again.

Patrichulaa reacted to Pmta1 in Apply for jobs while AOS pending
I would recommend against going to interviews. As per the USCIS manual for the I-485 AOS, the "acceptance" of unauthorized work can be considered grounds for a bar. So, I wouldn't risk it if I were you. I believe it's okay to send resumes but not go any step further before you get the EAD

Patrichulaa reacted to ineedadisplayname in Apply for jobs while AOS pending
Sure, but keep in mind that you might be burning bridges if u have no authorization.

Depending on your field some companies won't even talk to you before u r authorized for work. (At least that was my experience)
If u send out a bunch of resumes you might risk being in their system and not trigger anything when u resend your resume in a few months....

It is tricky, look around if your field has meetups, groups where u can network without just blankly sending out resumes.
