Well I was not going to post this as it could be a HUGE error, but I decided to post anyway as it serves to give other VJers information and also something to perhaps look out for if you are in the same boat as us. My AOS interview was scheduled for April 17th and due to the virus situation it was cancelled as I expected. My status changed back to case ready for interview on April 1st. Enter today April 3rd I get a text from USCIS get this..... that a new card is being produced for the I-485 form (GC)!!!!!!!!
No interview no advance warning no nothing. I immediately logged on to my account at USCIS and low and behold the status is New Card Is Being Produced!!!!! Can you believe that? USCIS has been known to error before, so I really can only hold my breath until the card arrives in the mail. I'm sure this will happened to other folks here on VJ if in fact this was not an error. So we all can be on the look out for other people getting their GC without going on a interview. I know no interview was a common thing several years ago, but USCIS changed that to where everyone interviewed. The only thing I can think of other than being an error is USCIS decided that all the cancellations of interviews was going to set them way behind so they decided to clean out a few cases and approve without an interview.
For your information we submitted the standard AOS packet (pre February 24th). In addition to the supporting documents for the I-485, I-864, I-765 and the I-131 we did not send any other documents or evidence (besides the marriage license). I have no explanation other than what I have laid out here. I'll for sure post here once the card reaches us! What a Friday!!!!!!!!! And it's early still!!!!!

He kind of told us that the approval rate for ROC is only at 50% so we want to make sure that we have really good evidence of co-mingling.
Some of the stuff that he pointed as crucial are:
1) File for I-751 (ROC) 90 days before the expiration date on the greencard. He told us to check the expiration on it and count 3 months. He said not to do it too early and not too late either. I can use the timestamp on my application as a basis of whether I filed too early or too late.
2) Once we received the receipt letter, we have to go online and make an appointment. He wasn't sure if it's infomod or infopass.
3) He said that ROC takes a year so before I get approval, my greencard will probably be expired so for me to continue to be documented, we will have to make the appointment that I mentioned above with my passport, receipt letter and greencard so I can get a stamp.
4) He said that tax transcripts are always the best documents from irs.gov We will need 3 years of it.
5) Some of the strongest evidence of co-mingling are the following:
Mortgage or house deed in both our names Bank statements, debit cards (this has to be 6 months statements showing activities such as purchases, utility payments, our salaries going in the same account, etc.) Insurance in both our names: health, auto, life He also suggested putting me on the car titles He also said that if made major purchases to always put our names together Pictures of us together over the years with friends and families pasted on a paper so take can take it and put it in our file. I was kind of bummed out about having to change our financial strategy at the moment and he said that we can just do it for this process and then after that, we can do whatever we want.
Hope this helps!

Do you mind telling us what all he said regarding ROC? My husband wasn't verbally approved at the interview so our officer never told us anything about it.

USCIS agents are not political appointees. They don't care.. they do their job and go home.
I'd love to see some of the rejected I-129s and I-130s.. all you have to do is follow the instructions.
Please take your politics elsewhere.

The most complete source of data is published by USCIS. The data on VJ is only a very small subsection of total petitions and likely has a bias (either those heavily involved with their cases OR those with more problematic cases). For simple approval/refusal rates, the USCIS data sets work fine. I would just note that approval vs refusal rates are better to determine a rate instead of approval / total (since many petitions are not adjudicated within the same time period as the report).
The data released is by a defined processed by federal workers (and contractors), not politicians. It has been released for literally decades and across many administrations and across DHS, USCIS, and even INS leaderships.

and you are prejudiced if you think the USCIS data is so tainted....good luck on your journey.

There is no better data regarding I-129f approval rates than what USCIS, itself, publishes........like it or not..........it seems you already have reached some conclusion in your mind, and you are searching for data to justify it.......
I-129f approval rate for FY 2018 was 73.49%......

Would you ask a fox how many chickens it had killed in the hen house when nobody was looking? I don't trust ANY numbers published by politicians especially the group currently in power in the US and especially on the issue of immigration. The VJ page in question has a lot of information on it. What would motivate someone to go to the trouble of producing that much false data? I feel safe predicting that the report you furnished spends most of it's time patting USCIS on the back and demonstrating how fair and unbiased they are. I'm a firm believer in the old joke about how to tell if a politician is lying.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing about this. Basically, I don't believe the numbers even if the parent document is genuine. You obviously consider the State Dept to be staffed with well intentioned people following just laws to a noble process. I believe just the opposite. No amount of talking will resolve this.

Hank, I wish you'd go troll someone else. You clearly have an agenda requiring you to defend "the process". This "process" like any process will eventually become corrupted whether intentionally or unintentionally. It doesn't matter to me which happens or has already happened. The results are the same. All I want is to get my fiance stateside and SLEC is preventing that UNFAIRLY, IMHO. I believe their process has already become corrupted and they (SLEC) have a vested interest in concealing that corruption which would be a challenge to their credibility. It should be obvious (even to you) that the possibility exists that my fiance's X ray (and possibly other docs) have been inadvertently switched with the docs of a genuinely sick person. You would think that SLEC and USEM would want to investigate this but I expect nothing but resistance as I pursue this beginning with you. Please troll elsewhere. Everybody already knows what you are going to say.

waysoftheshadow reacted to ADW & JOP in sputum test
So happens that I am an MD. Trained completely in Canada, board certified in Canada and US and medical licensed in Canada/US.
I also volunteer in a developing country where I met my wife. We had our own Tb floor, and I order the rapid sputum test more than 100s of times, not because it is a more superior test to exclude Tb, but because the follow-up rates in the country are very low. Multi-drug resistant Tb is also a thing there.
The source I use is https://www.uptodate.com/contents/diagnosis-of-pulmonary-tuberculosis-in-adults. If you are so inclined to review it, it does cost money for a subscription.
I am not arguing for or against immigration policies, I am strictly referring to the use of the test. Again, the gold-standard test to exclude pulmonary Tb is sputum culture.

Sorry, but I think you're being naive. Someone in immigration would find a way to require an 8 week test over a 24 hour test no matter what the CDC says. Just like they require patients to show up for their meds every morning for 6 months. Such ludicrous policies would never stick on US soil. Clearly, the goal of those and many other policies is to discourage compliance so as to reduce immigration. I don't see how my fiance will be able to comply if she must do the 6 month treatment.

So how many here who are petitioning for relatives still think Trump's making America great again?

We are not here to blow smoke up your dress. We are here everyday for years. We know a thing or two because we have seen a thing or two. Your free to ignore our advise but look at how many post each of us have made. I doubt we got there with lying to anyone. Good luck.

Well then, since it's such a frequent occurrence it should be easy to tell me how to go about getting extended.

Speak for yourself, Bill not everybody else. When I tell you something is true, IT IS TRUE. Until I ask I have no idea how ambivalent the answers will be. I am always grateful for all answers but I don't give equal weight to each one. BTW, you make too many assumptions with too little evidence so I would suggest you not respond to my posts in the future.

waysoftheshadow reacted to billding in NOA 2 expiration
Maybe you should email USCIS too. Shouldn't they be the one to extend NOA 2 since they issued the it?
What if the embassy says they'll extend it and then it turns out, it's beyond their power to do so. It seems like you can't trust the embassy too.
-
waysoftheshadow reacted to billding in NOA 2 expiration
Why even bother asking here? The answers you'll get on here are all "as far as I know" knowledge even if the commenters don't explicitly say so. It's based on their experiences, on what other people they know have experienced.
Rules and regulations change all the time. The only way you can be certain is to contact those who make them.
People are only trying to help. Be a little thankful, at least.

waysoftheshadow reacted to Russ&MaryAnn in K1 expiration date
My fiancée just completed her exam at SLEC. If there had been any indication she needed further testing for TB I would have not liked the additional wait. But I would accept it and be thankful they are precautious with a dreadful disease. And if after the 8 weeks test she was clear, great. If not and she had to live in Manila for 6 months for treatment; again the wait and additional expenses wouldn’t be pleasant but I know it’s the best way to deal with a potentially deadly disease. I’m glad USEM uses SLEC medical facility.

You mean, you had to follow the same rules as millions of other immigrants? Oh, ok. Sorry they didn't lower their standards for you.

I'll tell you in three simple words, none of which you will believe. The words are: DENY, DELAY, HARASS. These are the unspoken general orders of the entire immigration service. The larger the volume the more they apply.
