    Hello All,

I need some assistance, We filed ROM months ago and it is still not processed, is there any way that my wife can get her CFO so that she can leave to the US without the certified processed copy of the report of marriage? This is getting crazy, We have waited so long and now this is stopping everything.

We are both depressed as hell and don't know what to do at this point.

    Thanks,
    Jordan

    Hey guys,

Please let me give you a word of advise. You have made it this far and we all know it is by far the most challenging experience you will probably ever go through! The CFO is the last hurdle before she gets on that plane! They absolutely LOVE to flex their muscles and abuse what little power they have it seems. Just stay the course and be strong for one another and things will be fine when she gets on that plane! It will all be worth it in the end! God Bless and good luck!

Thank you.   Yeah, this has been a very long Journey.  We heard a rumor that they are picking up speed, so we're crossing our fingers.  But we will be patient.  We will probably just pick them up in Duma.

    Question for you though.

Did they tell your fiancé she was approved at the embassy?

Hi, actually the CO’s words were, “I am recommending you for approval” and of course they kept her passport. So if they keep her passport then that a good sign it will most likely be approved. I have read instances where the applicant has received their visa in a few days but that was Pre-Covid. Again please understand, they are on their own clock!

  3. "A few days" may or may not be enough as you have been on this journey long enough to realize that by now. It took my wife over 3 weeks to receive her visa and we still had to drive several hours to pick it up. I'm not trying to be negative here, and I hope she receives it the very next day but we all can see that the only sense of Urgency we experience throughout this process is our own. We all wish you guys the Best of Luck! God Bless!🙏

  4. We had our AOS interview in Nashville today. We arrived about 20 minutes early for interview and was able to go right inside. We went through security and the officer sent us right to window #1. The lady ask for the interview notice and for our ID's and once she verified our ID's she gave us a number and ask us to have a seat. in about 10 minutes our number was called and the officer met us at the door, introduced herself and guided us to a room where an Ipad was set up and she said this was going to be a "Virtual" interview! She went into another room and soon appeared on screen on the Ipad set up in front of us. She ask a few questions about our relationship and ask my wife every  question  on the back of the I-485 form (all NO answers). The officer was very nice and made us feel comfortable. She told us that she didn't need ANY of the documents/Evidence nor pictures that our Interview letter stated that we bring other than our ID's and my wife's passport, EAD, SS#, Drivers license. The officer informed us that the green card would be a 2 year card since we have not been married 2 years yet. She informed us that all the documentation that we brought (bank statements, pictures, shared accounts etc..) with us wasn't important at this point but would be in 2 years when we come back.  I said "So you are telling us that you need absolutely Nothing that we brought with us today?" She said no and then told us to start saving all the same things that we brought with us with dates starting AFTER today! I told her to at least take a look at our pictures and she seemed to enjoy looking and commenting on our album and even made suggestions on some pictures that we should have enlarged and displayed in our home....lol All in all the interview went very smoothly and took about 10 minutes total. Green card approved and should receive it in about 5-10 days.:dancing: I must say this entire interview could and should have been done from the comforts and Safety of our computer room/office! We do have Ipads.......LOL:rofl:

Any news when the US embassy in Manila will open for interviews?

    Hey folks,

for what it's worth, the embassy is and has been open and conducting interviews for a little while now. My friends wife from Cebu had her interview about 5 weeks ago and finally arrived into the US this past Friday. I'm not sure if they are conducting K1 interviews at this time. I wish I could give you more encouraging news. Hang in there, hopefully it won't be much longer...

So my wife arrived December 2018.. and she arrived witha  CR-1

My wife is now pregnant with our baby boy, only one month to go before he's born. My wife wants to change her last name to have my last name...
Since we soon need to get started on the Petition to Remove Conditions, how do we go about this? Do you recommend we do this now? Or should we wait until after Removal of Conditions?

How difficult is it to change your last name? What is involved?
Also, what do we need to do to get started with the Petition to remove conditions?

Has she already reported your marriage to the Philippine Embassy? If not she will need to do that first because when she goes to renew her passport with her New married name, they will ask for the report of marriage. 1st step should be at your local social security office to have her SS card changed.

    Hello all,

I have been in the hospital for some major surgery and was out of it for days and then at home in a bad way for a couple weeks, and have just now been able to get on.

I have searched around and found no updates on immigrant visas being processed at the US Embassy Manila, since the news article declaring all interviews cancelled to Aug 28. My wife has the petition sitting at NVC now. I wrote to NVC and have yet to get a reply.  If anyone knows...

    1. ANy word of if/when US Embassy Manila should resume spousal visa appointments?

    2. Any word on if the NVC is moving petitions to Manila or not? Ours had arrived at the NVC around Feb 2020.

    3. I filed the original petition in Sept 2018 (NOA1). Will I be required to resubmit all those documents again? (criminal clearances from foreign nations etc) for her? It took 9 months to get the police check from China BEFORE COVID.

    Thanks!

A good friend of ours just text me this morning. His wife has her interview in the morning at the embassy in Manila. So apparently things are moving along. Good Luck!

Can you pls help me what website did you go through pls? Appreciated much for the help. Yes this counselor officer is from davao and i told her that do we really need a police clearance because all my knowledge petitioner will b background check before approving a case. So hope you could help us any website pls without any finger print because she said my fiance can get a good moral character prove that he don't commit crime. Thank you so much im from luzon and we did tele counseling only. Just disappointed nit satisfied on the program because the topic should be what we should expect in america etc. But she never discuss.

The site where I got my background check done is www.PDTSERVICES.com (NO Finger prints necessary) He is actually a friend of mine and the cost is around 20 dollars for a National Background check.. Call Keith or RL and they will take care of him. The telephone number is on the site under Contact us.

I've never heard of this requirement, is this a legitimate requirement? The US has already done a background check on the petitioner, thus granting their visa, but we need another background check? If we refuse, we can't marry our fiance?

I think it's a case to case basis. I was shocked also when she told me what they were asking her to have me do. I made the same argument as you are. "They have already done extensive background checks on us both and Now they need me to get a background check?" Yep, so I complied with their request so she would be able to get her CFO sticker...Done and Done! Dog and Pony show for sure, We all have so many hoops to jump through in this process....lol :pop:No need in refusing to do what they ask, no matter how ridiculous their request may seem. If you want to complete this arduous immigration process, you will comply....Remember They hold the key!

My Wife (Beneficiary) ran into the very same thing with the CFO requesting that I (Petitioner)  get a Background check also. There are many online websites where this can be done pretty quickly for little cost to him, and it doesn't take more than a day or two to get it back. I did it and in about 24 hours I had it back in an email and was able to forward it to my fiancee and she was able to print it out. This satisfied their silly request.

Not sure what to make of this but my wife's GC was issued back in April with the so-called Interview wavier (I'm a September 2019 filer) there is also another September 2019 filer that this just happened to so I thought I had better make a thread about it. Anyway like I said the I-485 was approved and GC was issued back in April 2020 (during Covad ). All of a sudden yesterday the status on USCIS site changed from the post office delivered card to you, to interview was scheduled. I'm dumbfounded of course just like I was getting the wavier. We've been trying to call to speak with a Tier 2 officer but no luck. I'll keep trying of course.

I have a nagging suspicion that this is NO ERROR and we are going to be required to attend this interview once it is scheduled. Reason I say this is simple USCIS has nothing in their files to back up our approval i.e., no documents other than the basic requirements. I am thinking they USCIS want to gather what proofs and documents we have for their files. As I have said I am trying to get a read on this and trying to contact USCIS. It's not like the K1 where I was the petitioner and I could get the information myself, but now my wife is the one that has to inquire or at least give her permission to release this information to me. Going to the interview at this point would just be a slight hassle, as we have plenty of proofs and documents so no worries there. If this has happened to other folks who received the wavier please post here with the outcome of your call to USCIS. I will do the same once we can reach a Tier 2 officer. We have not gotten the interview date yet, but I'll post that here too! All I can say is what the!!!!!!🙃

The fun never ends does it buddy! This stuff is a constant source of entertainment! :bonk:

Congrats!  I'm kicking myself....I had planned on taking Claudia in to do a "walk in" for biometrics the first week of March, but I decided to wait until they scheduled a date for her.

We ended up having to drive to Greer SC to  have her Biometrics  done. They scheduled her there instead of Nashville. It was a much better drive and a little closer for us and nowhere near as much traffic as Nashville. They would not have let us in if she didnt have her appointment letter with us. It closed the very next day after her appointment on the 18th!

  14. We all know how frustrating this process is, I'm sure I have a lot more gray hairs on my head since starting this long arduous journey. If I can give you any advise at all, it would be to enjoy your new life with your loved one since you are together and just let these circumstances just play out. My wife and I have 2 gardens and Many flowers. We both love to go out and watch them develop and grow just like our love for one another. Just know it will happen when it happens. Please don't put yourself under so much stress, it's not good for anyone. God is Great and has and will always be with you! God Bless!

That's great congrats! What were some of the questions. Did you get the Visa right away?

No not right away, have to wait for it to get to us via courier service. There were only a few questions, name of beneficiary, where will she live in the USA, where did we meet, how many times your fiancé has been married, how many children does he have and ages, how many times has he visited you. She ask if I live in a house or apartment, and asked her to describe the house.

I feel your pain. I too have problems with the humanity and I live in the South Eastern part of the US. BTW, you should take in Rizal park. It's a nice stroll and the water fountain display is neat to see. Good luck on the interview and safe travels for you'll.

Thanks so much! Ren said she knows where Rizal Park is and we will check it out tomorrow....We saw a horse and carriage there today on our way to the mall and plan to go there and take a ride and watch the sun set over the bay...
