Also, if Biden's administration is soo worried about covid from immigrants, why are the illegal immigrants allowed to cross the border even when positive for covid? Even USC currently have to get the negative covid test prior to entering.

China isn't the best model since they have a very authoritative government as you said. I'm currently living in South Korea and really wish the U.S. would communicate more with Korea on all the measures we have taken here. Our rate is falling really fast, in 3 weeks in my city our cured and discharged patients now out number the ones who still have it. The U.S. really needs to start getting it together with healthcare for this virus.

I don’t believe any numbers China reported. 3000 dead? Multiplying this number by at least 20 times will be somewhat realistic.

As someone who works full time for a Chinese company remotely and talks to these people every single day,  I can assure you things have not returned to any sort of normal. Are there some glimmers of hope of things moving in the right direction? Yes. But this is still not over for them. Once the government stopped silencing the researchers/doctors in the Wuhan University hospital and everything was exposed, they did a WAY better job of clamping down on the situation than we are doing right now. In fact, many countries are handling it much better than the US is right now.

I was sent this letter as well. However,  my i-130 was approved last year. You may need to call USCIS, and speak with a representative and ask for them to explain so that you may understand. The ban is in effect now, I don't know why they would have sent it back to the USCIS, again. Maybe,  someone with more experience can help you.

I am optimistic that the ban won't last. I believe Nigeria govt will step up to this. This is a huge slap on our face. It's sad.

From your profile, looks like you went through the same process in 2009, so I'm sure if it was as easy as to "just move there" you yourself would have just done that rather than the K-1 process. All circumstances does not allow that option and one would think someone who personally went through it themselves would have better advise for those who's been affected by this sudden ban. I'm sure if this ban was placed during your process, you would have felt differently about it. Guess it's hard for you to relate now since you're already in the US and congrats on your naturalization. 

Don’t give up it’s difficult but it can work out. The best thing to do now is to stay informed and know your options. I am devastated too when I heard yesterday but we can’t get too down. The waiver is still possible or the ban can be lifted. Stay strong and positive.

I will advice you not to cancle your I-130 petition, lets put our trust hope in God anything can happen. Don't lose hope, I believe something will still be done at least for those old CR1. I believe there will still be a considration to those that file few months back.. So don't lose hope lets trust in God. 

I don't have an appointment yet at the embassy. So the issue of being denied is not practical at this moment.

Bans are always imposed when a country fails to comply with certain standards the U S wants them to comply. If Nigeria does everything they are expected to do vis a vis the American government,  the ban could be lifted. I'm counting on that.

Or more like, unless Nigeria gets their act together.

Neither USCiS or a Consular Officer will care one bit what you "want".  A doctor saying you should be there is not enough.  They need to give a specific reason why you being there is medically necessary to save the life of your baby.  Please don't argue with us about it.  If you want to try for an expedite, try it with whatever documentation you can get.  Just know that without what I just described, it will definitely not happen.  WITH what I described, there's perhaps a slim chance.

That might be the easiest solution if you have to be there. 

Shame they don’t allow “by her side” support in Pakistan or you could attend instead of waiting to hear how things went while crossing your fingers from another room.
