For only an N-400 only interview, I don't think anything else is required other than what was listed on the letter .  Good luck!  There is light at the end of this tunnel...and it is NOT an on-coming train!!!!  You both have achieved great things!!!!

    Thank you so much!

His appointment was at 11:15am in Albany NY, I’m in the car waiting anxiously. Will update once he’s out!

Is the attorney advising her to pay? I’m curious as to the method of payment specified in the notice

She got the notice after her interview, the IO told her she will get a letter in the mail. What I read, and remember there was another form attached for credit card payment she needed to return to USCIS.

attorney told her to pay it. (Tbh, I don’t trust some attorneys either)

Sounds like it has nothing to do with USCIS.

I think it maybe a NYS public charge.. she used the public hospital for a dental procedure and that’s what she’s omitting.

Post a copy of that notice. Under what circumstances was a USCIS notice sent to her?

She just let me read it, she didn’t let me take a picture (she’s knows I’m always on this site) I think she probably used dental services and she needed to repay, but you know some people are never honest with their explanations. I just wanted to be sure for my information because I NEVER heard of this.

Thank you! The lawyer just suck more and more money from me. When discussing denial I caught her on not knowing about I-290B and she also did not present me other options to take since the denial. She just told me I have to go back to my country because I'm illegal now.

Get a new lawyer. Only a judge can tell you that.

    Hi Everyone-

Hubby went to his citizenship interview a month ago and passed. He's now a citizen. Yayy
We don't yet have his passport but there's a family emergency and he wants to travel ASAP (The passport won't get here on time).

My question - Is there an issue travelling with the green card when in theory, he's a citizen and should be travelling with his passport?
They didn't take the green card away so am assuming it is still valid... though I really rather not screw anything up when we have waited so long to get to the end of the immigration line.

Passing the interview doesn’t mean he’s a citizen.

he has to attend his oath ceremony in order to get his US passport.

at the path ceremony he will get a certificate of naturalization and they will take his green card. So until he has his naturalization certificate in hand… he’s still an alien.

  6. Hi I filed my husband's citizenship online yesterday, I was able to download the pdf for the receipt today!
We got a passport stamp in Nov, and the IO suggested we file citizenship, we also went to France in Nov around Thanksgiving, he was placed in secondary, and the IO also asked if he planned on applying for citizenship. I told him say no more!

  7. Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your contributions, I have been reading and taking notes.

I'm kind of worried about the evidence part, maybe I'm overthinking. I am the US Citz.

Besides the obv, tax returns, ID and credit card statements.

We have no children, fertility issues with me.

We bought a home, the title is in both our names, the loan is in my name only.

We have a tenant, and my husband is listed as the landlord on the lease.

Property and school taxes are in both names.

Joint Bank account with our names, no money in it since we used it all for house savings.

80% of my paycheck goes into his account for bills, and whatnot.

We're all on my health insurance, and I'm his beneficiary on his life insurance.

Phone bill is in my name, on a family plan.

Car note and insurance is in his name, I don't have a driver's license.

I came into the marriage with one child, so did he. My child lives with us, she's ours now.

Our child school records have him as emergency contact..

We have 2019 Thanksgiving pics, and some home parties in 2020, nothing happened because ya know, COVID.

Ugh I'm so anxious about this, anything else I maybe missing?

Please be nice, my nerves are a wreck.

    Hello,

I am a single father (US Citizen), my son lives with me (US Citizen). I receive Food Stamps and Public Housing, I have a Co-sponsor for K-1 Visa. I cannot seem to find a clear answer for this question regarding public charge:  If my fiancé's visa gets approved, and she comes here, are we able to live in public housing and receive benefits for me and my son, not her? Or will this count against her come time for AOS? I already have a job lined up for her. And I just recently was awarded Section 8, should I still continue looking for a home section 8 approved? Or simple move out of my current public housing when she gets here?

She won't qualify for public benefits, she has to pass the public charge test in the consulate first. Once the green card is granted, she won't qualify for many public benefits. US Citizens do not undergo the public charge rule. Sec 8, SNAP are federal programs, Medicaid is state issued.

I know on the SNAP application, to the end, it says, "this information may be sent to any federal agency requesting this data" something of that sort.

  9. While reading through the threads I have noticed a thing or two.

    1. K1 visas more frequently result in 221(g) being issued, over CR1/IR1.

    2. Some countries have interviews for CR1/IR1 with both spouses. I completed my husband's process in record time, without an attorney, and in his interview letter, it states only the person on the letter is to attend the appointment. I wanted to attend the interview, but based on the IL I complied and stayed in the US.

Anyone else, noticing trends of K1 visas in extended Administrative processing more so over the the CR1/IR1 visa?

This is probably the analyst in me.

    Hi everyone!

my husband and I received our NOA2 August 1st and our case was sent to the dept of state on August 10th. We haven’t heard anything from the NVC yet. I have a reminder set to email them after the 30 days if I haven’t heard anything yet as they said in the letter. I was wondering how long it took for you to hear from NVC? Thank you!

We took 3 weeks on a Tuesday night at 830!
