As everyone in this group gets closer to the NVC, I made a list of documents needed so you guys can prepare. NVC is reviewing document in two business days. That means the quicker you scan and upload you documents, the quicker your interview will be scheduled. The first step at NVC is to make the payments once case number is assigned: $325 and $120.

The IV application and requested documents will available 2 to 3 business days after payment is entered.

For the IV application, you will need the beneficiary's address history from the age of 16 and school information (high school and above). So get that ready.

    The following documents are needed:

    Civil Documents:

Beneficiary birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce papers (if any), beneficiary passport picture, and police certificate for any country lived over 6 months (not including USA).

    AOS Documents:

Sponsor: I-864, 2018 tax transcript, and proof of domicile (if your physical address is not in the US).

Joint-Sponsor: I-864, proof of U.S. Status (passport, birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, green card), proof of U.S. Domicile (lease, mortgage, utility bill, car re gistration, voter registration, etc.),  and 2018 tax transcript.

Good luck to everyone, and hope this helps.

    this is perfect @ArmyVet

    Hello,

I'm new to MVJ--so please bear with me--not even sure if I'm posting this in the right place 😂

I heard that there are all inclusive, affordable lodging run by Cuban ex-patriots in Guyana that are cheaper than the hotels. They provide hotel pick-up and drop off, 3 meals per day, private rooms with private bathrooms, car service to exam, interview and translation svcs..... Is this recommended? Does anyone know of such places? I only found one.....on airbnb I believe. They charge $30 per person per night. Also, I'm a US Citizen (my parents are Cuban) who speaks, reads and writes Spanish. I'm a former ESL Teacher with 2 Masters so I'm quite qualified to translate though not legally certified as a translator. Can I translate for my Cuban Fiancee?

I don't want him to go to Guyana alone because he is very naive and fear for his safety. As much as I dread Guyana (and I'm a seasoned cross-continental traveler), I'm sacrificing...lol...

Do you think my presence in Guyana help our hinders our case? Thank you for your input!

    Lina

    you just started the process?

You're case is at California? You have a good while to wait, don't stress yourself so early yet.

I didn't check this part also, and it came back yesterday as incomplete. What I did was upload with a comment, and they deleted the incorrect one and accepted the correct one with the comment.

Happy to report that we just received our case number, about three weeks after NVC received our file!

Any idea how long we have until the end of the process? My husband will be interviewing in London.

took me 7 days to finish. we got our case number last tues, 14th, and case complete today.

Depends how fast you submit fees and docs. It takes about 3 days after you pay for you to do the application and submit docs.

I heard there was a glitch and they asked many people to resubmit documents, hopefully they took care of that. The most frustrating part is that it takes them longer to review re-submissions than it does first time submissions. Good luck, hopefully you get CC soon.

Yes we had to resubmit today, but it got accepted within 45mins.

We had to resubmit marriage cert. But everything is accepted now.

  7. Hi folks,

So I submitted all my docs on Sat, and everything got accepted except for my husband's military service record. We called and got it sorted out we resubmitted the same doc tonight. But I will like to share some uploading advice, both reps at nvc were really happy when they saw our case and the organization.

When uploading label each document, this makes it really easy for NVC to know what they are viewing and give a quicker "accepted" checkmark. For example, I uploaded 3 years of taxes and w2s for my mom (M Silly), I labeled it as:

    - M Silly 2018 Tax Transcript

    -M Silly 2017 Tax Transcript

    -M Silly 2016 Tax Transcript

    -M Silly 2018 W2

    -M Silly 2017 W2

    - M Silly 2016 W2

For the civil docs, under additonal documents place all your petitioner's civil docs, don't assume they know or that you already sent, send it again. No harm to them or you. If they don't need it they will delete it ( they deleted my step dad since mum and him filed taxes together)

Send more than less, let them figure out what they don't want.

As always, I will help where I can. Our PD is Jan 10 2019.

He said at the interview they did not give him the 221g, the officer just said it was denied and refused to tell him why. I have heard of other instances of this happening at the embassy in Islamabad.

I'm just trying to gather all the documents until I find out the reason for denial.

A k1 denial followed by a cr1 petition soon after is very shady

As the pervious posters said, find out the reason so you dont waste money and time.

I've read here that k1 denials can trigger a cr1 denial.

    Good luck on your journey.
