Good morning all, huzzy submitted civil docs at the initial USCIS stage, will NVC still ask for them if its already there?

Uscis only sends the approved petition.

Dont assume nvc has anything from uscis just send everything again.

Nvc has fields exactly what they need and if you hv more send it.

    Send everything except blood.

I thought my reason was weak but I guess NVC is a bit more lax than USCIS.  I've heard of approvals because of the stress of being away from your spouse.  It certainly doesn't hurt to try! Send an email.  Our approval was for school and how school in Manila starts in June so it would be nice to be settled by then.

    Go for it!

Any attachments needed in the email for expedite?

I am preparing documents for my husband right now for the NVC process. My husband was in the Honduras Military from 2010-2014. He has his original document from being in the military. Does he need to obtain a newer document that is within a year old? This is the original one with all the stamps and signatures.

    Thank you

Is the document his discharge cert?

I got an incomplete because my husband is in the Trinidad and Tobago Military and he doesn't have a discharge cert. They orginally rejected the service record but we explained why he didn't hv a discharge certificate. Then they accepted it. Upload it and put a comment, that that's the best document you have.

Awesome! We have to wait until Friday to pay fees because there's 3 total petitions.  I plan on paying fees on Friday first thing in the morning and given Monday is a holiday, it should be approved Thursday for uploading.  I'm flying there next Wednesday for a visit..it would be awesome if it's approved then so they can get their medical done while I'm there!

I dont think you can do your medical without an interview notice. And I'm waiting for ours.

And you wont get the interview so quickly. You may be scheduled for Aug interviews.

Biggest advice I can give you is label your docs.

We got everything accepted on Monday.

Except for my husband military record they marked incomplete because they thought he was discharged.

And they asked for a letter why I didnt file 2016 and 2017 taxes. We uploaded everything as soon as we got the notification and 10mins after everything was accepted.

    We got case complete yesterday.

@IndiaAnnie did you call nvc? The app isnt reliable. We called on May 1. And nvc got our case on April 22nd. We got our approval April 8th.

The app still says 'we sent your case to dept of state'

On the website it says 4/24 for Case was sent to State Department. They didn't receive it until 5/1 though.

How long after paying fees does it allow you to upload?

3 days. I paid in tues 14 and did the application on Fri and uploaded on sat.

You can do everything in one night. IV application and submit docs. It takes a while. We didnt want to do it tired.

We got our 'paid' status email at 8pm Friday night.

We just received the second of three "Documentarily Qualified" messages from NVC.  That is awesome but the third petition (step-daughter) had all files accepted on April 12 but never received the DQ message.  They aren't asking for anything more and all civil and financial files are marked "accepted".  I called NVC a few weeks ago about this and they said they would assign a supervisor to look at it.  They said that will take 6 weeks.  I called them again today and asked what was going on and they said it can be an additional 6 weeks before someone will look into it.  My wife was DQ on May 1, my step son was DQ on May 22, my step daughter was accepted on April 12.  NVC hasn't even sent my wife's petition to Manila yet (22 days) and we are all expedited...

    This is beyond frustrating.

my goodness, they should jus DQ the entire family. This is ridiculous.

@John & Rose Good Morning, I thought  I had the I-864 figured out but i keep reading on it because I want to do it right. I did catch somethings i was doing wrong or about to do wrong but now i am confused on what i just read. I know i will file 3 forms for husband and step kids, but its telling me to add their names in part 3 and in part 5 five telling me the total would be 3 for the each of them and 1 for myself. Then i read no each form will have their own names in part 3 and part 5 i would do this for the total (1 for him and 1 for me). Which is true if NVC what to see my household total which will be 4 and that i can take care of them and my self. Thank you and anyone that could help

    add everyone on one aos.

So I can see alot of people have been talking about it, but I can't seem to make up what's accepted by the NVC.

For example my wife's 2018 tax transcript, which is roughly 5 pages, should that be uploaded as 1 PDF file, or split into 5 PDF files?

And does anybody know if my wife's 2017 tax transcript would be accepted as the most current year, since US citizens living abroad have until June to file their taxes, and so therefore they will not be ready until July probably.

Her income will not meet the poverty guideline as her job is not continuing to the US, so we are using her father as a joint-sponsor and we do have his three years tax transcript including the 2018.

    Submit an explanation.

I lived abroad with my husband and I didn't file for 2016 and 2017, on the affidavit of support there's a question that asks "did you file taxes for the past 3 years"

I checked no, and I got "incomplete- Please provide an explanation why you did not file taxes for 2016 and 2017"

submit an explanation to cover yourself.
