I said: "I would like to speak with a tier 2 agent please"
He said: "I have all the same access as a tier 2 agent.  I can see what they can see"
I said: "I would like to speak to a tier 2 agent please"
He said: "Hold on while I transfer you call to the next level" (or something)

Then I waited about 5 minutes until a tier 2 agent came on the line.

Sometimes they'll just transfer you, or yeah, ask for a supervisor.

Sorry, misunderstood your question. I was reading it on my phone while driving... (I know... I shouldn't do that lol). On NOA2, the A number appears above the Beneficiarys name.

Ask your friend where she heard that...because it is 100% false.  It is true that you might not be allowed to accompany him inside the consulate during the interview (varies by consulate), but many people travel back to the US with their fiances..........good luck.

When I first got my NOA2 it was via an update on the websites, it stated 26 Dec so that’s what I updated my timeline to. A few days later it was received in the mail and stated 21 Dec so I changed my timeline to that. The hard copy is the accurate one, humans forget to update things i.e. the website.

if you see it updated on either of the websites, you can list that and update it later if the hardcopy shows a different date. that is what i did because the new site showed me one date, but the letter showed me a different date a week later when i received it
  12. Thanks
clw654321 reacted to Ben&Zian in When to update timeline
It should go off the actual date on the hard copy of the NOA2, which should match the online date shown also. If they are putting the actual date they receive the hard copy then it's off by a week or so probably but still relatively close to the approval date.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

Yes. Copy only for all your documents including the I-134.

Also make sure she has her PSA birth certificate.    You might want to wait 2 weeks before you start calling the NVC but it's up to you. Also make sure she knows as much as she can about you because she will get questions at the interview like, when do you'll meet?, how did you'll meet?, what do you'll have in common?, etc.., some people have posted how not being able to answer basic questions like that led to a denial.

It still follows more or less a trend. It changes as the approval times change monthly so I would at least take it in consideration and not write it off as inaccurate. No data is 100% correct but based on the timelines I've seen it's been pretty precise. Mine started late March and now it's at mid February and sure enough September K1 filers are already getting approved.

Yes, a very bad thing. Until the beneficiary has the employment authorization document or green card, they cannot work.
And you better believe the government will find out.

for the Philippines then this is way way way to much. The pictures together and with her family, the passport stamps, and receipts of hotels are more than enough.
    No they do not.

I think it's a factor of putting together an approvable petition and chance  My fact pattern is wildly different than yours (previous marriages, previous petitions, big age gap, minimal secondary evidence (ie. One photo)) approved in 172 days.  So what most people would describe as complicated, red flag items, simply doesn't affect a petitions approval.  Submit the required evidence and your petition will be approved.

For the criminal record, technically I think you would put a "no" for 2.c. since those were only 2 alcohol/substance convictions (I'll let others weigh in as well)... But if you want to take some worry off of yourself you could always select no and then include that original arrest report since you have it handy anyway, and any other court/diversion/etc docs that might be easy to track down... along with a supplemental attachment explaining what happened and why you've included the docs.

They will know about both of those things whether you send anything or not, or check yes or no. In my opinion I'd say better to be totally forthcoming. Better they toss the stuff you sent out because it wasn't needed, than get an RFE because an officer decided they wanted to see it.

Also - don't stress too much about that "no RFE" thing - It isn't "no RFEs" - It's only for people who blatantly leave out MAJOR REQUIRED components for the petition such as evidence of meeting within 2 years, proof of being free to marry. etc. It's to weed out junk placeholder petitions.

every case is different. in general, they are fairly accurate.

Mine fluctuated by up to a month during the period from NOA1 to NOA2.

Ultimately, I received NOA2 about 2 weeks before the estimated time frame

dont forget, they are estimates and SOLELY based on people who have completed and updated their timelines on VJ. it is not a USCIS time frame.

you can not appeal the denied k1.

your ceremony was enough to make you too married for a k1. do a search on these boards. happens ALL the time. you can NOT appeal nor can you file another k1. it would be denied too.

you should have researched all this beforehand.

now you will have to return and get married legally and file a cr1.
