OH MY GOD I just checked the new site and we are APPROVED as of yesterday Feb 13 (I last checked yesterday at 4pm PST but it was still under review at that time) BEST VALENTINE'S GIFT EVER!!

Keep us updated if you get an approval.in the next day or so..apparently they have to update the beneficiary's name to match passport for NOA2...i know with my fiance...his middle name.is not on NOA1..so i expect to be getting "name update" as well...congrats!

If I were you, I'd get rid of the lawyer.....They'll just keep charging you. You are already right here in this forum and maybe you can transfer to the specific country (Vietnam has its own regional forum). Plenty of help/advice/guides available for you. You need to file an IMBRA waiver. Again, no help from the lawyer. I have a format to use if you're interested. Best of luck to you.

hv u considered whether he is or those illegal immigrants are using other pple ssn to attain these things? and then wen its time to do things legally, like gettin their own ssn, they cant

My husband and I had a Stokes interview for our adjustment of status (1st interview). We were interviewed separately for about 15 minutes each. Several hours after the interview, we received a text message indicating approval. He's a citizen now and I thank God that's all behind us. You can read our interview experience by looking at our timeline.

Yes this is our first and only interview. I think the biggest discrepancy was my wife didn't know about my personal account and how much I saved. Also we missed a couple questions like what restaurant we first went, etc.

I just want to share with everyone my story and hoping this will help someone with the same situation. I am from the Philippines and overstayed my visa for almost 4 years. I married my USC wife last year and she petitioned me after 2 months of marriage . Everything went smoothly as planned, I had my bio metrics and the EAD and AP arrived accordingly on time After around 2 months we received our interview notice. The interview went well, we brought along our lawyer just in case, but unfortunately we did not get the approval right away. My lawyer was concerned about my answering too much with regards to my working without authorization and he just told us to wait for whatever comes in the mail.
After a month without receiving anything we went for an infopass but was told to wait for another 30-60 days and that they were very sure that we should get something in the mail during that duration. After around 5 weeks after the infopass we made, we recieved in the mail a SECOND INTERVIEW NOTICE, and based on my research it should be the dreaded STOKES INTERVIEW. I did a lot of reading about it and was pretty confident that we will pass it because this is a genuine marriage. I cannot imagine failing it unless this is a fake one, When the stokes interview started, the immigration officer explained to us all the legalities and told us everything is on videotape. She started with my wife for 1 1/2 hours and then me for 1 1/2 hours, and during that time me and my wife never saw each other, I think they made sure of that to avoid cheating, lol! When it was my turn, I just told myself just to tell the truth and just be honest if I cannot remember or don't know the answer. That is one good advice I want to tell anyone, just be confident and maybe review some important stuff about your relationship with your partner. I even forgot what I did during the holidays and what I gave her for her birthday which was just a month ago. They are very protective of the USC petitioner and played mind games with her. I had a very tough one, they dug up everything including how I got into the US and the circumstances surrounding it. I entered legally but overstayed. I reminded myself that this IO are all experts in psychology and that they will know how to squeeze the real from the fake. They are not investigators for nothing. Just be honest, remember this saying...The advantage of telling the truth is never to remember anything
At the end of the interview, we were again reunited with my wife with the IO. She explained to us that during the first interview that we had the IO then never had us sign the I-751 information (Release of Conditions) and that she would like us to sign it. I really thought we already got the approval by signing the document, because the document basically says that we read the conditions for a Conditional Green Card. My USC wife asked the IO if we got approved, and she said we are not yet approved because she has to type in everything and do this and that, and that was a heart breaker for me. We went home wondering what is the result of the stokes interview.
After 2 days, I checked my status online (I got a text message) and found out that my I 130 just got approved, that means they found the marriage to be credible. That was a good thing. The I-485 stayed the same(scheduled interview still) so that was still a disappointment but at least we got 50% for what we are praying for. After another 3 days, we received something in the mail, a very ordinary mail coming from the local USCIS office, my name on the envelope was even handwritten and I told myself, this might be another interview notice again or another useless paperwork because I expected like a machine generated copy from the USCIS for any formal communications. When my wife opened it (I was then already readying myself for another disappointment), it was the copy we signed about the conditional green card that will expire in 2 years, and that I got approved for Conditional Green Card as of 4 days ago. You just can't imagine how happy we were and told my wife to call our lawyer just to confirm everything, and yes! yes! yes! our lawyer said that was an approval.
I hope this will help someone in the same circumstance.

Can't say anything for sure except that someone looked at your case and updated the name record. When it was still possible and worthwhile to do automated scans based on the 'old' site (so back in late 2017/very early 2018), one the people who'd run it for a few months thought that 'Name Updated' usually led to an approval the next day, but I don't know if that's still the case.

I am a Feb 2018 filer and still waiting for the noa 2. We have been waiting for 237 days now. We’ve already sent our first service request and was told that they placed our case on hold because the security check is still pending and they cant move forward without it. 
 
Earlier today, I received an email from USCIS that they have taken an action on our case and when I checked it, it says that “the name was updated on Oct. 2” The thing is we didn’t request for any information to be updated. So my fiance contacted uscis and spoke to a tier 2 officer. They just told him that it was nothing, like they were just refreshing their system and it’s still the same. No update and still pending.
 
I’m so worried about our case guys. Anybody here who experienced the same thing?? 
I also want to know why our case is pending due to security check even though we don’t have any records. Should we send a new service request again? Or should we consider contacting a senator about this situation?

I’ve seen many many cases this happened, and followed them through which was always approval the next day. Funny enough it ended up happening to me.
 
but by that time Ialready knew so I actually was sure I got an approval. My name was updated date was 4th of April, and approval came next day. My paper no2 said approval was on 4th of April as well.
 
my reason for this was, my noa1 didn’t have my middle name (they don’t put middle name on noa1) but noa2 has to be same as passport so it was corrected by them with the inclusion of my middle name.

@Greenbaum I would like to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your assistance, diligence in responding in a timely manner, and always providing top quality (hilarious) responses.  It has been over a year and a half going through this process for us with tons of bumps, mistakes and all out burst of tears. However, every time we got down we looked to a higher power and knew that things would work out according to plans. We were issued the visa today and my fiance can finally meet his 8 month old son for the first time and my heart is so heavy.  I thank you to all of you who have posted and responded as I have sometimes just been behind the scenes reading others experiences and trying to keep my head above water.

I did not know until you said something ...but i have been following other posts and i know USCIS has longer times on their website but thats to cover their a$$es...and they update that 1nce a month...but they are pushing these through...i cant wait until they get to december! They already started october...

Do you know how long a submitted i129f lasts for before it expires? Between the NOA1 and NOA2 stages?
