No, you can also fill it on a computer and print the form out. Same for DS-11.

Since you are so adamant about not having to deal with Mexican authorities, I would suggest finding a vacation destination that is more welcoming.

milimelo got a reaction from TBoneTX in Landlord increasing rent, is this permitted?
Can't you go on reddit or something and look at some threads for tenants - I'm sure there are some out there (I don't do reddit but hear there's a thread/channel whatever is called for everything).

Also as others have said if you just moved in in June 2023 and signed the lease then there's no hiking up the rent until that lease term is over. It may be the landlord is trying to have you retroactively change the terms of the current lease - that's a no-go.
If you have universities/colleges around you - they have legal clinics - contact them as well.

Edit to add - your initial term is through June 30, 2024. The last paragraph or rent increase would only come into effect AFTER the initial term is over - ie he can't hike up your rent now. You can point back to this and tell him you'd be happy to discuss in June but as you're still in the initial term rent increase would be illegal.

Go find the tenant, renter, landlord laws for your county/area and arm yourself with that. Local county housing should be helpful as well.

Pakistan has lots of issues, so you will need to front load any petition for that, whether it is for a K-1 or CR-1.  We definitely see way more denials for Pakistan K-1s than CR-1s, so I agree that it is an odd choice.  Processing times are meaningless if you first get a denial and have to start over with a new petition.

Looks like double taxation after becoming a US citizen might not be an issue then.

So only left with two problems: cost of living where you are now and cost of filing fees for I-751 & N-400. Filing fees are $595 + $85 for I-751 and $640 + $85 for N-400, bringing it to $1405 in total.

Are you sure you want to give up a great opportunity for $1405? I wouldn't. I'd think your US spouse would have to pay more in Europe for his paperwork.

In terms of cost of living: while it's generally lower in Europe, are you going to keep same income though? If your income is going to drop due to employment in Europe, I'm not sure if you're going to be saving much.

From my observation, it's better to earn more $$$$ in expensive place than less $$$$ in cheaper place. At least in expensive place you can try saving. With 30-50% lower salary in parts of Europe you may have nothing to save after vital expenses. Fuel, transportation etc tend to be more expensive in Western Europe, whereas groceries are about the same as US prices, maybe slightly cheaper. Healthcare is much cheaper in Europe, that's true.

Either way, let us know how it goes and what you decide!

I know, I would probably be crazy and irrational to leave when I’m so close. But I miss my home so much, and I honestly cannot wait to for at least a couple of years live close to my family. I’ll think about it some more! Thanks for your input 😊

You are probably only a couple years from US citizenship....  Are you willing to give up all the time and money you have already spent in the US immigration system to this point?  It's a big decision. Once you obtain US citizenship, you will be free to travel freely.

You may need to accept that getting her to visit the US is not going to happen. Meet in 3rd country that is  easier for your parents to get to …

Long term.. If having access for you both back into the US is important to you.. and this relationship is one you see lasting into the future .. then marry. Live in Thailand while you apply for her spouse visa , move to the US, live there until she is eligible to become a US citizen, complete Naturalisation .. then you can leave,  return, live where you what to . Yes I did say long term solution .. 2 years to get GC, and as  long as you enter after your second yr anniversary,  then plan on 4 yrs in the US to get through naturalization.

milimelo got a reaction from millefleur in Study:  Risk factors for early onset dementia, dementia before the age of 65, identified
Interesting. But how does someone not drinking at all and alcohol use disorder (aka drinking yourself under the table daily) work as a risk factor? CRP is infection level - it's high when someone is sick. So is it one of these factors leading to early onset dementia or
all of them together or several of them compound to increased dementia risk?

The 15 risk factors researchers determined were "significantly associated" with developing dementia early were:
    Lower formal education.
    Lower socioeconomic status.
The presence of 2 apolipoprotein E4 allele.
    Complete abstinence from alcohol.
    Alcohol use disorder.
    Social isolation.
    Vitamin D deficiency.
    High levels of C-reactive protein.
    Reduced handgrip strength.
    Hearing impairment.
    Orthostatic hypotension.
    Stroke.
    Diabetes.
    Heart disease.
    Depression.

milimelo reacted to millefleur in USC and UK spouse in UK - Filing questions for work offer in Qatar
The whole point of DCF exceptional circumstances is that there is urgency to bring the spouse back to the US with the USC who is moving there on short notice. Moving to Qatar for a year does not show any urgency on the USC's part to return to the US immediately, so I don't think it's likely this situation qualifies while you are in the UK.

Now if you were in Qatar and then had the short notice job relocation back to the US, then it's possible they might grant it. It appears there is a US Embassy in Qatar and their ustraveldocs websites mentions "exceptional filing" for such cases: https://www.ustraveldocs.com/qa/qa-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

I think people are not nearly aware of what all ivermectin can do - and there's a reason Pharma is trying to keep it suppressed - no money in it as it's cheap and generic.

I had covid in early July and took ivermectin - back to work in 4 days. No lingering effects - personal anecdote is that it does work.

You have bigger problems . You need to write a request to amend I-751 from Joint to Divorce Waiver ..NOW.

If your wife fabricated and filed stories w divorce court..I am pretty sure she reported the same to USCIS.

So , file request to amend now , show divorce case pending. If divorce is not final by the time you get RFE , then file a new solo I-751

This one would definitely work for early appointment expedite. You can request it yourself after you pick a date that's available (even if months later), or you can go through your congressional representative(s) for it. In either case, you have to have an existing appointment (sounds like you have one already) but as circumstances have changed you're now requesting an earlier appointment for medical testing purposes. Your congressional representative can work for you - you just provide as much information as possible to make it easy on all sides. Good luck!

I am not an Immigration Lawyer by any stretch but know a now ex Immigration Judge (retired), went to his retirement do, very interesting.

So the one thing that was very apparent, and now this is Denver but I would place a quite reasonable amount on it being the same elsewhere, is that they all seemed to know each other, they deal with each other most days and it is for them a Job, Business nothing personal.

So I would use a Lawyer who was well versed with the local USCIS office, knows the head honcho, has been to the sort of event I went to numerous times, and see if they can get it sorted on the basis of we really do not want to do this but here is the brief and if we can not sort out  amicably we will see you in Court and it is going to be embarrassing. I only know one ex IJ and no current ones and seriously doubt he would have any time for this.
