Oh yeah i forgot after the interview they sent me official approval notice and there was a certain date mentioned in there and if I don’t receive it by that date to give them a call so yes definitely you should call them

I think it depends of your local field office.We were at Cleveland which normally are very fast.

I met my fiance in a video chat room. No issues! 

He has a interview scheduled for Thursday. I have a feeling that his ESTA was denied due to an error on his part. When we filled out his DS-160 with him, he put his name in wrong. Love that man but he is not very attentive to details!

My fiance just arrived at the US embassy in London for his K1 visa interview. 
 
Don't have a question, I am just so damn nervous I don't know what to do with myself. 
 
We are beyond prepared and feel really confident but those what if's  are currently eating me alive! ( ok, slightly dramatic but I am sure most of you understand!)

The shutdown does not affect the visa process because USCIS is funded by visa fees.

My stuff has been moving along at the typical rate. The shut down is not the entire Govt.

Yes, technically he's a legal alien allowed to work. Meaning he COULD get an EAD based on his status, even though it's a useless path.
Some non-immigrant statuses CANNOT get an EAD, they are the legal aliens not allowed to work.

Managed to get our LND#, it's now in transit. Phoned the medical this morning but they said I need a letter from the NVC before they'll let me 

So we filled the online form in to contact NVC yesterday and will give them a few weeks to respond and if they don't, we'll then give them a call.

So here's to hoping they're pretty quick! I've just landed after spending Christmas and New Years together so we're all done now other than the LDN section of the process 

If you don't wait there is a good chance he will not be in the system and it will take even longer to process. Your best bet is to wait. I have even read recently that people are having to wait longer than 2 weeks. My fiance moved Dec 11th and we have not gone yet. We will probably wait for the holidays to be over just in case. 

Sadly all you can do is wait. After ours went to Issued, it took 7 days for my fiance to get his passport back. I hope you get your Christmas wish but please don't hold your breath. There is no time limit for AP.. Keep checking for Issued to pop up! Good Luck!
