Thunderbolt got a reaction from Dashinka in Failure to stop for a school bus in NY
From the little reading that I've done about NYS and school buses - Looks like they can have cameras but not necessarily.
In the worst case you can get $400 ticket and 5 points on your license (then your insurance will go up). If you don't get anything in the mail in the next 90 days you'll be fine. It will not have effect on your LPR status. It is waste of money
    Live and learn.

Effective August 19, 2019, school districts and municipalities are authorized to use stop-arm cameras on school buses.

As New York Vehicle and Traffic Law section 1174(c) explains, anyone who is convicted of a violation of the laws requiring motorists to stop for school buses could be fined. The fine for a fist conviction is a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $400.

A motorist will also get five points on his or her driver’s license. Accumulating 11 points or more during a single 18-month period can result in a motorist having his or her license to drive suspended. Five points is a substantial number of points for a motorist. If a motorist commits a third offense of failing to stop for a school bus, however, he doesn’t even have to acquire 11 points on his record to lose his license. A third offense results in the mandatory revocation of the motorist’s license to drive a car.
The record of unlawfully failing to stop for a school bus will also make it impossible to get any job that requires a clean driving record and will send auto insurance rates skyrocketing for most motorists who are convicted of this violation.

If people can get married, why some of them still do K1?

Thunderbolt got a reaction from Chancy in Has anyone flown with a cat in the cabin through Lufthansa?
My family flies a lot with Lufthansa with their yorke dog in a carrier under the seat. I think it cost either $150 or $250 one way.
The only restriction Lufthansa has is that there is only 1 animal per cabin.  In other words there can be 1 animal in fist class, 1 animal in business class, 1 animal in premium economy and 1 animal in economy class. (that's for TATL flights).
On a recent flight, my family member had to upgrade themselves to premium economy class as there was already animal in economy class and they wouldn't allowed her dog on that flight. Also, every time they have to call Lufthansa after booking the ticket online to confirm the dog on a flight and pay for it.

Thank you for the detailed info. We are not in the courthouse but rather at the DHS office (the same place where my wife had her interview). If the letter says 7:15am I hope that's when the ceremony starts  We are about 20-30 minutes away from that place.
Anyway, we are excited and very happy for the journey to finally finish

We submitted the application 7/31. Appointment was scheduled for today 10/3.
6 civic test questions (all from the USCIS app). Read one sentence, write two sentences.
Then was into the questions from the N400 form.
At the same we did I751 questions/answers.
Everything took about 30 minutes. At the end my wife got letter stating that she has passed English test and history and government test.
The second check mark is at: Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time it appears that you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified of when and where to report for your naturalization ceremony.

So ALMOST done I wonder how long it takes before we get the oath ceremony letter.

Only the N400 interview schedule. I told the IO that we have I751 pending and she invited me to her office together with my wife.
She did civic test, then few questions about I751 and then continued with N400.

Now we are waiting for the oath ceremony letter. I hope that it comes this year.

We had all that and MORE, the only thing that the IO asked were our driver licenses... Go figure.
Well, we didn't have combo letter. I just told the IO that we have 751 pending when she called my wife's name.

There was a guy waiting for the interview. I assumed completely unprepared (everybody in the waiting room had vanilla folders with documents). He didn't have anything on him. After his interview (about 5 minutes) he came out with piece of paper smattered with yellow highlighter. I guess they gave him instructions on what to bring next time.
So, the conclusion is to be prepared even if they don't ask you to provide documents.

    Good luck!

    YMMV (your mileage may vary)

Bring the I-751 NOA for sure. It may be that IO doesn't even know there's pending ROC. Hopefully that's not the case.

They do have to approve the I751 first, but they can do it on the day of your N-400 interview. My husband's n-400 interview was scheduled while his I751 was still pending, and the interview letter said nothing about that. We went, together, prepared for a combo interview, just in case.  When we arrived, and they were checking him in, we mentioned the pending application. Sure enough, they approved both at once, and my husband's oath was scheduled for that afternoon! What a day it was! We had several hours to wait between the interview and the oath. During that time, his status started updating to tell him that his I751 was approved, his N400 was approved, and that his oath ceremony was scheduled,  All this while we waited in Starbucks! I hope it works out that way for you! There's definitely a chance!

    Hello,
I am pretty sure they won’t be keeping your original documents, I would bring my original cert of naturalization and a color copy of it just in case.
Your case is moving so fast, congrats!

You'll be getting two letters in your regular mail very soon too. One is the payment receipt and the second one is that the case is pending etc.

Your wife can qualify for citizenship after meeting one out of two conditions.
    - Being married to US citizen for 3 years (and living as LPR in US for at least 3 years)
    - Being LPR and living in US for 5 years.

So for your situation, you can submit N400 for your wife 3 years after her arrival in US minus 90 days.

My wife will hit 5 years of living in US soon, but because we did K1 and had all the AOS - ROC her LPR counts as the time when she got her 2 year GC. It's silly but nothing we can do about it.

Strongly recommending waiting until your anniversary. I know it's a headache but it will be well worth it to stay extra 2 months at home.
