Thank you for the positive remark. They asked her to mail out the passport along the missing doc. I don't think they will hold the passport for more than 6 months?
Let's hope sounds to me that there is hope soon.
Cheers!!

Derik-Lina reacted to Jeanne Adil in received a 221G Casablanca for Immigrant Visa for a Spouse
Derik's post was trying to get him to state if the additional document was the ds5535 /derik is moroccan and not use to asking directly what we need to ask here
his wife has been in AP since December for this dreaded ds5535
so, the real question here to the OP as i am american and will ask directly
What was the document the casa embassy asked for?
simple one like original Moroccan birth or marriage certificate, it can take anywhere from a week to a few months(because of the volume of people interviewing and now in AP)
if it is ds5535. it will take a year and sometimes longer
to the OP
when asking any question here, give us as much information to go on as you feel comfortable with as it helps us to answer

Samir, a case similar o yours just received their Visa. The wife, from Meknes, needed some court documents this past December.
She received her Visa in hand last week. As long as your wife dodges the Ds-5535 form, you two are golden nshlah.

Derik-Lina reacted to Jeanne Adil in Administrative processing for cr1
this happened to another but 221g was marked in administration review
said he would be contacted in 2 weeks
he received an email for the dreaded ds5535 but he was told approved at the same time and was given "welcome to the us letter: and they didn't keep his passport!!!
kept your passport
did they give u welcome to the US letter?
221 g is for additional documents or denial so keeping passport is confusing
almost seems like the new staff members are confused about the proper steps after interview

we get it.
youre in love with the virginal saint.
yup.
regardless of sainthood or life experience, the visa will be denied with only one visit. Two wont make it any better given the other issues.
Do with that information what you will.

I'm confused. I didn't see any comments bringing up his previous relationships? Though now that you mention it, that is something to look out for. Sometimes scammers will marry an American for the green card, divorce them once green card is in hand and then go marry a Moroccan woman to bring to the US...

Derik-Lina reacted to geowrian in Morocco Casablanca Consulate
I'm also not saying it is a scam. Only you know the details of the relationship on this forum.
That said, usually the last person to realize that somebody is being scammed is the person being scammed.
Don't assume it is a scam by any means, but please keep an open eye for things that do seem unusual and don't just write them off. We've seen it too many times. This applies for any relationship, but is especially important in those complicated by immigration.

Tell him you are beginning the process to move to Morocco.
See what his response is.
assuming of course, he is not on here.

Derik-Lina reacted to Jeanne Adil in Morocco Casablanca Consulate
yes, they are charmers
and very good looking
and i am one of the lucky ones as my marriage is going on 9 years
but many don't
many leave and go to a relative in the US as soon as the green card comes
they know more about immigraiton than i did when i started
they know they can marry and get the green card and divorce and do a waiver to stay without the USC
and they are looking big time to exit Morocco for a better life
i should say if he lives in Fes or any part of the north they are having to do the ds5535 as extra security check which adds a year onto the process
be aware of all of this
message any of the morocco members personally for help
read the embassy reviews

I am not here to judge your relationship, but have you evaluated the possibility that he may just want a greencard? From the outside this looks like a textbook case of someone from a 2nd or 3rd world country out for a greencard. Not saying it is but perhaps you should spend some more time with him before making such a huge commitment.

You seem to be in a rush, I would imagine by far the quickest route to be together would be for you to be the one to move.

When completing our DS-260, this was an option;
DOES NOT APPLY/TECHNOLOGY NOT AVAILABLE
NVC accepted it and I hope the Consulate does too.

Derik-Lina got a reaction from Apple Bee in Visits and K1 Process
Common sense suggests to visit again and it will not have any negative impact at all.
IMO, 3 visits in one year or even 2 years should be enough. The more FaceTime together the better.
As long as the relationship is legit, you are good to go.. I advise you to focus and pinpoint if there are any red flags and tackle those. Casablanca Consulate is not easy and rightfully so; Lots of fraudulent cases in the past. In general, K1 Visas are not easy either, especially in the MENA regions due to many factors such as being too married or cultural conflicts.
Best of luck to you and you should never be scared; It is what it is

Derik-Lina got a reaction from ashcashbananas in People from Morocco waiting for interview date
I hear you loud and clear. adil-rafa is a great source of information here and I thank her so very much.
Unfortunately, Casa has been swamped with cases making it a long stretch before we get interviews.
One wishes the bad and fraudulent cases stop and clear the way to the legit couples to come home
already. It s been a long journey for my wife and I and certainly for other good couples too. Our CC is
October 19 and we ll be happy with an early January Interview nshlah. My only hope is that the new
Government addresses and fixes these long and nightmarish AP dark holes. Not asking to eliminate the
necessary and invasive security measures. If at all possible, Just to speed up the process or target the shady
characters only, rather than throwing all in one basket. Some have been approved but waiting for over a year now

The keyword here and thanks for using it: Transparency
I am almost certain Visa Applicants would feel at ease if they are aware of the reasons behind their lengthy waits.
No one opposes security measures for the country's security is number one here. Only exploring better and faster ways.
