My wife had the interview in the Embassy of Casablanca on 01/09/19. She was issued an Administration Processing form that states that the case was refused under 221g.

And was asked to send the passport along with A court Record document.

We send all docs via the Aramex office on 1/20/2019.

The case still shows Processing.

It was updated on 02/09/2019 still shows processing

We didn't get a confirmation of receipt of passport and documents..I am assuming they received them the next day.

Any how we are just waiting and hoping for a quick turn around

Anyone has seen similar situation?

I'm sorry for your delay. Unfortunately, there are many cases such as yours.  I just read another posted 221g given by the Casablanca  consulate.  It said that a high volume of cases, AP could take 6 to 9 months.  Hopefully, your case will be an exception.

Samir, a case similar o yours just received their Visa. The wife, from Meknes, needed some court documents this past December.

She received her Visa in hand last week. As long as your wife dodges the Ds-5535 form, you two are golden nshlah.

Never assume that one case is equal to another......my opinion.

Thank you for the positive remark. They asked her to mail out the passport along the missing doc. I don't think they will hold the passport for more than 6 months?

Let's hope sounds to me that there is hope soon.

Cheers!!

Derik's post was trying to get him  to state if the additional document was the ds5535 /derik is moroccan and not use to asking directly what we need to ask here

his wife has been  in  AP since December for this dreaded ds5535

so,  the real question here to the OP as i am american and will ask directly

What was the document the casa embassy asked for?

simple one like original Moroccan  birth or marriage certificate,  it can take anywhere from a week to a few months(because of the volume of people interviewing and now in AP)

if it is ds5535. it will take a year and sometimes longer

to the OP

when asking any question here,  give us as much information to go on as you feel comfortable with as it helps us to answer

It s all good. Just wish your assumption was correct. My wife and I are in it for a long wait. Hoping and praying for a miracle :)

Many People with the dreadful Ds-5535 will mark 2 years of waiting soon. Best of luck to everyone here.

Of course no two cases are similar, but the outcome can be the same, sometimes.

A Moroccan wife received her CR1 Visa in hand exactly 20 days after her Interview in Casablanca.

She was missing a Divorce decree which she had submitted via Aremax. I know this because she

interviewed the same day as my wife and they had exchanged numbers to check on each other.

The nice lady from Meknes did Not receive the DS-5535 while my wife did. My wife is from fez, at less

than an hour from Meknes. Apparently, the DS-5535 form Blankets Fez and all Northern cities of Morocco.

Thus, it is safe to say your wife's chances are higher to receive Visa in hand much sooner if she is not asked

to submit the DS-5535. Again this Extreme Vetting Form, introduced in May of 2017, has put people in a Dark Whole;

It is unknown how long it takes or why only certain applicants or regions receive this DS-5535 form.

Why is it dreadful? Majority have been waiting for over one year and many will complete two years in May of this year.

We did go through the DS-5535 before the interview it took about 4 months. After the interview in CASABLANCA with embassy they put her under 221g. If I understand correctly the first one was during the NVC process. The DS-5535 can take up to 6 months.

In our case she got approved by NVC and scheduled for the interview. She was given the 221g basically admin processing. They are just doing more investigation. It could take few weeks to months. from what I have read it should be resolved typically within 2 months

We are being optimistic and hoping for a quick turn around. When you go for the interview there is a chance that they will request more time for processing. Everybody's situation is different.   In my case they asked for the passport and the one doc that I mentioned when I opened this case. It has been now three - four weeks since she submitted the passport and the court doc that they requested.

Wait and see....

How did you do the DS-5535 before the interview? Are you sure? This form is given after the interview not unless they changed the rule.

I just asked her she was given the DS-5535 after the interview as well. It was before and after. You are correct

The first time the NVC requested it. This time the consulate emailed her the form 1 or 2 days after the interview. Everytime they don't like something they request the Admin processing. It's like black waiting whole.

I hope we hear something next week like your friend from Meknes

there is a facebook page for ds5535

and if NVC asked for it ,  they just wanted it filled out to send with the packet,  they did not investigate the answers

if embassy asked again,  they wanted to check the answers from one at NVC to the embassy submitted form

answers need to match

and you are in for a long AP

incha allah,   all will go faster than i predict

but please,  keep us informed so we can help others

best to you
