AntoinetteB got a reaction from AbenaKofi in I129f September 2017 filers
That's exactly what im doing. Once i saw my dates continued to change i thought to myself ill have to continue to change my wedding date that's too stressful especially when my venue only allows one date change and i have family flying in so now we are going for September 2019 this works for us it gives me time to plan the perfect wedding without guessing if he will be here or not

I would recommend your friend signs up for his own account. Too many stories get twisted and mixed up when posted by third parties.

If you are a K1 then you use the DS-160. If you are CR-1 then you use the DS-260.

AntoinetteB reacted to geowrian in I129f September 2017 filers
The DS-160 is for non-immigrant visas and DS-260 is for immigrant visas. The K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. But since it's handled by the immigrant visa unit at the embassy, sometimes they use generic wording for immigrant visas in their communications.
I found their info on the website, which it looks like they copied the immigrant visa instructions to the fiancee visa page:
Fiance: https://sn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/the-interview/
Spouse/Other family immigrant visas: https://sn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/family-immigration/the-interview/
That stated process for a K-1 is all wrong. A K-1 uses the DS-160. Documents are not submitted to NVC for a K-1, and NVC does not review the case or schedule the interview. That's how an immigrant visa works. For a K-1, NVC just makes sure papers are in order, assigns a case number, then sends it off to the embassy to complete any other processing.
Police Cert info (not sure if this has exactly what you're looking for, but I'll put it out there):

Thank you fur your encouraging words. Hopefully I receive this NOA2 by March and it's only 2 more months after that. I've estimated hopefully end of June beginning of July he'll be here.
Yes, that's truly something to be grateful for .My supervisor has a house there and it's gone. A tree for each guest that's an amazing idea seeing how I love nature and everything about it .once we get his AOS filed we are moving to Alaska or Colorado Im really happy I've found this site I couldn't imagine going through this alone although I'm blessed to have supporting family and friends it's better to have someone who knows exactly what your experiencing so thank you 💜💜

Well I went to look at my venue today it's beautiful I'm so excited BUT my date of September 30th is not available but with this unstable immigration process I need the date as far out as I can but not pass my 90 days 😣😣 so September 16th or October 😭😭 I'm so stressed

AntoinetteB reacted to TNJ17 in K-1processing times
Omg don’t ever trust USPS for this process. Use FedEX or DHL. USPS sucks! They lose everything, and when it’s not lost it takes a million years and a day to get them, and their customer service sucks because you’re always on hold for so many hours and nothing gets resolved or calls get dropped. Don’t ever use USPS for anything in your life specially this.

AntoinetteB reacted to Naes in I129f September 2017 filers
I really don't think you need to push that (mine is end of July)
we will know more about how they're thinking by the end of this year as we will have more data and their quarterly reports will be out. let's try not to think till then.

AntoinetteB reacted to Nin&Way in New K-1 RFE Master List
Hi Kimo! Congratulations to you and your fiancée, and also welcome to the site.
1st advice, DO NOT SPEND a penny on lawyers and services or anything, unless your case is really complicated.
2nd, read the guides then read the forums talking about K1 process and all.
My then fiancé now husband and I followed step by step and guides here, what documents to provide and we got approved in a 5months timeframe.
This site has helped me a lot, and continues to do so. Try and you’ll see.

AntoinetteB reacted to Nitas_man in Child from assault
I am not sure that not knowing that a child or pregnancy existed during a fiancé visa process is a strong case for a valid relationship. Born after the petition was approved is probably a better position to take and a pregnancy during this process is going to raise a huge red flag.
Be prepared for the CO to thoroughly drill down into this. It might be a little bit painful.

AntoinetteB reacted to EandH0904 in Rapid visa website
Its not a scam, but remember that they dont guarantee you get a visa. Its nothing you cant do on your own - if anything - sometimes it may take a few days longer, because you send the papers to them and they take time to check them and send them on. YOu could save the money, eliminate the middle man and do it on your own. UK is generally not an issue when it comes to K1 visas.
Their "guarantee" is that the visa is approved on the US side - not that you're granted a visa in the beneficiary's country - and if you look at the statistics, 95-97% of K1 visas are approved on the US side anyway.
People on this website will be more than happy to save you some money and look over your table of contents or anything else before you submit it - but its your choice.

that's the same thing we all wont be receiving anything else until judgement day 5 or so months from now

AntoinetteB reacted to Going through in Wrong dollar amount in check.
The entire package will be sent back. Just resubmit it again with the correct filing fee.
When they send the entire package back, it is treated as though you never submitted it in the first place---they do not "hold" it in any way since it never began processing.

AntoinetteB reacted to DollyDolly in RFE QUESTION
All that is nice but not necessary. All you need is a typed letter signed showing that your fiancé intends to marry you. Mostly everyone uses the letter from the post above.

AntoinetteB reacted to NYCruiser in Divorce with current k1 sponsor before AOS, found new love - questions!
People are not judgemental on here. Just honest. Something maybe you do not want to hear? How on earth with everything you have to adjust to, culture, new life, new friends, potential NEW job, family etc..you 'managed' to 'find' someone else in this short period of time? Not to mention learning the phone system etc???
Divorce, go back to your country and ask your 'new' love to apply for a K1 for you. Be aware you will be scrutinized heavily by the consulate and USCIS because of the small amount of time you have spent with your 'new love'....Good luck
PS You also don't mention about your country of origin?
I am wondering what would be bona-fide marriage if he or she came here, then immediately divorced, AND met someone else in the meantime?
-
AntoinetteB reacted to Roel in Divorce with current k1 sponsor before AOS, found new love - questions!
Best thing to do. Divorce. Go back to your country. Have your new love apply for k1 visa.
There is absolutely nothing you can do to obtain a legal status from within the US. K1 beneficiaries only get green cards through their petitioners.
On a personal note: that was fast. Came here in April, divorce and already met someone new you are willing to marry.
Either way. Time to pack your bags.

AntoinetteB reacted to Dutchster in Divorce with current k1 sponsor before AOS, found new love - questions!
You can only adjust status through marriage with the original K-1 petitioner. There is no path to a green card for you if you’re not together before the AOS is approved
What you are planning is immigration fraud.
