jakelake got a reaction from Oroski in BAD! ROC + N400 Combo Interview Went BAD! (merged with update)
In the past, I-751 petitions took about 5 months and some not requiring any interview.
With the new Trump administration, anyone filing from December 10, 2018, will have to get an interview and as a result that caused the time frame for some to go from 1 year to 2 years. The goal of the administration is to discourage any potential fraud. The thought is that a fraud couple is not going to stick around another year or two. A fraud couple may not have been living even after conditional was received.
In my opinion, the I-751 is now being handled like another I-130 where the applicant is interviewed all over again to determine if there are any discrepancies.

I think that people are more concerned about their health. Immigration and citizenship is secondary at this point.
If there is a delay, it is because safety comes first. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

It seems to me that you are hiding something.
Why do you not want to divulge the petitioner's country?

Why is your I-751 petition still pending, if that is what you are filing? What country is the petitioner from?
It seems that the issues that you are describing would have more likely occurred when filing the I-130. If you were granted a visa, then that means suspicion of fraud or any issues with background check would have already been cleared.
Of course, when filing to remove conditions, USCIS will still look to see if there are any fraud.

If your visa had not been cancelled, when would marriage have come up? It seems to me that marriage is now being used as an option because there are no other ways to get to the US?
Is the marriage then out of love or a means to get to the US?

CR1 does have removal of conditions if married for less than 2 years when entering the US. That is why I-751 needs to be filed.

    There have always been increases.
$1170 will seem like a bargain when another increase happens.
The current fee of $725 is definitely expensive when you consider that in 1985 the N-400 fee was under $50!

I contacted ustraveltraveldocs.com support and was finally able to create a username and password.
A DHL pickup location in Haiti was chosen. My wife will print the confirmation and bring it to the interview.

It took about a week of emailing back and forth with ustraveltraveldocs.com to get this straighten out but I am glad it is finally resolved. I am also glad that I took care of this right away and not wait at the last moment.

The lesson in all this is to plan ahead and to be proactive.

    That makes absolutely no sense.
Because someone is from England, that does not necessarily mean that he or she must have good grammar.

I am from Haiti and I have better grammar than the vast majority of people from English-speaking countries.
