Charming12 reacted to Znzn2 in N-400 January 2020 Filers
In a twist today. I went for my citizenship interview. Passed everything.
Was told to wait in the lobby for my certificate and then the printer broke.
So they will call me either today or tomorrow to come in the collect it.
Bad luck for sure

It doesnt matter what the CO says at the time of the interview. Cases from Pakistan more often than not go through a long AP process (usually many months), because the US can not rely on the police certificates issued by pakistan

Oath Ceremony Letter showed up in Documents tab online.
August 20, 2020 in the Memphis Field Office.
I was hoping it would be here in Little Rock, but I said yesterday I didn't care if we had to go back to Memphis to get it done.

I just checked the egov.uscis.gov/casestatus site and it shows:
We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number IOE935XXXXXXX. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by August 26, 2020, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
The my.uscis.gov/ site is still showing "We approved your application"

This is a copy of the instruction from the appointment letter. This is for an appointment at the Memphis Field Office. Other offices might have slightly different instructions.

Apple passed her interview. It only took 20 minutes.
The interviewer asked:
Full name
Address
Spouse name
Have you ever told someone that you are a U.S. citizen?
What ocean is on the east coast?
What was the main concern during the cold War?
What was the war between the north and the south?
How long is the president elected for?

There is no option other than waiting. USCIS makes your patience stronger if you strong enough . Just like '' What doesn`t kill you, makes you stronger''. I've become more patient person in my life since dealing with USCIS

Hi, Everyone
After applying in January last year and getting an RFE in February 2020, today I got notifications that case is approved and card is produced. I’m glad, but honestly got so numb to waiting, that it didn’t seem like that big of a deal. Hopefully everyone gets the same message soon!

Charming12 reacted to TL2016 in I thought I'd seen it all
You can’t compare your case to anyone else’s and you also cannot judge a case based on surface-level information that’s may or may not even be accurate. Each case is unique. One couple might actually need a binder of evidence and still gets asked for more, whilst other couples are so low risk that commingling finances are convincing enough.
Your case is already approved so I’m unsure why this would matter to anyone but the adjudicator. Be happy for those with uncomplicated approvals and hope for the best for those still waiting. That’s all there is to it.

I checked my case status and got this
On March 24, 2020, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number SRC199017****, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
I hope all of you see this soon as well. It has been exceptionally slow going for us.
I also wish I could thank the USCIS official working during Covid-19 .

Charming12 reacted to WandY in USCIS Office re-openings?
The media is hyping the impact of the virus, for obvious reasons. Nothing else they've tried (against Trump) has worked. Our president is doing an excellent job handling the situation. Sounds like you caught a case of TDS.

Charming12 reacted to Steeleballz in Any Insight or Informed Speculation on How Long Travel Ban May Last?
It's impossible for anyone to say how long it will last at this time. I don't think 30 days was ever set in stone. It could have been reduced if the situation got better. It's certainly possible it could be extended if things get worse.
From an epidemiological perspective, they would be looking at new cases falling below a certain number and then 2 weeks after that they would start to lift travel restrictions. I am not certain what criteria they are actually following though. It still seems to be more of a piecemeal approach.

Charming12 reacted to soso723 in cancellation of N400 interviews an oath ceremonies: write to your Congress representatives!
USCIS announced today that it is no longer scheduling any in-person interviews or oath ceremonies, which directly affects all N-400 applicants. Please write to your 2 Senators and to your Representative to allow USCIS to conduct online interviews and ceremonies.
"Dear Senator/Representative
USCIS announced today that it will no longer provide in-person services to immigrants at its local offices. This includes lawful permanent residents who have already applied for US citizenship and now can no longer attend any interviews or oath ceremonies, effectively halting their legal path to citizenship. Please introduce legislation that will allow naturalization of lawful, law abiding and skilled permanent residents without the requirement of physical presence. You should allow conducting interviews and oath ceremonies over Skype or Facetime. Keeping the citizenship path open will enable current permanent residents to apply for federal jobs in these times of need and also vote in this year's crucial presidential election.
Best wishes,"
