CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in Executive Order: Now illegal to send USD to anyone in Russia?
I would have mention more about the child support part, now I guess afraid to even have hubs go to Russia out of fear his ex takes him to court for not paying.... assuming he can even get there in the first place. His ex relies on the monthly child support to her each month.

I really hope this administration realizes that there is a decent Russian and Ukrainian community in the US, and all they are doing is (insert curse word of choice) over these people.

We got to the interview location in LA, the guy that checked us in was awesome, nice and friendly. As we sat for our number to be called, others were being called for different numbers and I noticed their callers had files that were easy to carry...... When it was finally our turn, we were taken to a different door compared to the rest, and was told to sit down infront of a clear pixy glass. On the desk was a stack of paperwork, about 5 or more inches thick.

We were asked questions that were based off our form that I had filled out. And our one and ONLY relationship question that could not be found in the petition was "How did you two met?" Afterwards she went over the documents I sent her, my hubs was wondering what I had submitted, she mentions that she liked I wrote an explanation of each category of each set of evidence that was listed and why we lived a few months apart after he immigrated here. (He got a job offer to Cali and our lease was about to expire in a few months in Washington so made more sense to keep me working till the end of the lease agreement instead of paying x3 rent to break the lease.) Even submitted the plane tickets of me visiting him during 4th of July break at my job. It finally got to the point where she asked us if we had any updated documents we wanted to submit..... she asked if there was an updated lease agreement or a mortgage statement that I could give her and also if there was a tax return from 2020. When I got to about 75% done presenting the documents, my husband kept begging me to stop giving them to her.... I felt like Billy Mays during an info commercial. The IO told him that's its really best to have too many documents than too little. She ended the interview telling us she will be removing the conditions and should be expecting the new green card in the mail within a few weeks.

She mentions hubs is able to apply for citizenship since his window has been open and if we had any questions. Hubs was asking about what to do about child support payments proof when one ex spouse will refuse to sign a document staying he has been paying her it this whole time since there is no court order. Basically show bank statements and highlight where the money is being sent to them, and if there is a conversation to the EX about it, print those conversations as proof. We also mention that we have a petition out for his oldest to come live with us. (Which got stage 1 approval on Wednesday).

PS. My spouse remembered my correct month and day of my birthday but forgot the year, kept guessing the years around it but not it.(Told him thank you for calling me younger than I really am, he gave the correct age I was, and told him to take 21 minus the age and what does he get >>) He was scare he also forgot the day month and year we got married on to the point the IO told him the date and said "Oh yeah."
PSS When we got to the car I checked the status of the petition, it states that his new green card is being produced!

CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in US Embassy in Kyiv (Ukraine) is closed. What now?!
So I am reading the security post on Ukraine's website, (https://ua.usembassy.gov/security-alert-attack-on-ukraine-022422/)

On February 24, 2022, the Department of State suspended consular operations in Lviv, Ukraine, following the suspension of consular services at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv on February 12, 2022.  U.S. citizens seeking emergency assistance and those who decide to remain in Ukraine should complete this online form and the State Department will respond.  The U.S. government will not be able to evacuate U.S. citizens from Ukraine. Please review what the U.S. government can and cannot do to assist you in a crisis overseas.  U.S. citizens may seek consular services, including requests for repatriation loans, passport and visa services, at U.S. Embassies in the following neighboring countries.
    Hungary Moldova Poland Romania Slovakia

I'm wondering if we are able to use the above countries for visas. My step daughter's petition at the USCIS was approved on Feb 15th and we just got her approval letter yesterday, and now we are confused on what to do next besides the normal NVC stuff. Hubs keeps asking me if there is away to get her sooner, like refugee status etc. I still think the faster way for her is the approved i-130 petition. SIGH.

Today is the day of our interview, super nervous, I keep feeling like I don't have everything but yet I'm bringing everything that has our name on it together with some other things that were for the house we bought in Oct that's separate. For originals, I got stuff sent to us snail mail so I wouldn't have to print them, plus there is a digital copy on the companies website's. We lost some past mail from family members and other documents during the move  His parents flew out from Russia to see us and they flew in early and helped us move. Found out his parents were throwing out papers that were to be kept. Only found this out when I saw my expired Health Insurance card (was used in the I-751) in the recycling bin a few weeks after we moved. I literally had boxes of mail or anything that had our names tied together put off to the side and physically moved them to the house myself.

    Joint:
    monthly mortgage payment bill, original
    Trash bill, original
    Water Bill, original
Both bank accounts used as evidence from the I-130 petition, with statements taken from every 3 months after I-751 was sent.
    Car Insurance
    Home owners Insurance bill.
Heath insurance cards printed from their website.
Health insurance tax form showing we both had the same coverage for the year 2021.
Registration for the car we have a loan for in both names.
Supplemental tax bill for buying the house......
Tax transcripts since the year we got married, even when I filed separately for the 1st 2 tax years.
Copy of current state driver's license with out the new address (they were updated on the state's website but don't send out new ones for change of address or some bs type thing)
Some mail from one family relative saying Mr and Mrs (my version of the last name)
NM tax department asking for more info and oddly using my last name even thought I wrote his version of the last name on the taxes.

    Separate:
    Gas in my name
    Electric in my name
    Internet in his name
Water filtration loan in his name

PS After this we plan on filing for his citizenship since it opened up nearly a month ago, just had other surprised bills popping up.

Haven't received our letter yet.  I guess time to look up what people have been asked and start printing our documents. I seriously thought we had about a good few more months before the interview going off of everyone's timelines.

CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in Feminine form of last name
Late this this thread, but my hubby and I got married in Washington state. No where on the certificate it let's us chose a family name. I went to the SS office after our marriage was official at the clerks office since that's what I was told to do, mainly because I have an enchanted driver's license that let's me cross the border to Canada and Mexico by car. I had request to them I would like to add the A to my last name since thats what it is in my hubbys culture,  told them what country.  They talked to a supervisor and allowed it. So my ssn card has the A listed.

A few days later I went to the department of licensing to get my name changed and address changed. The man at the counter kept giving me BS. Saying the last name with an A is just a nickname etc etc and I have to have my legal name for it, since the id I have goes thru homeland security and they have to match. After waiting 1 hour I was called up since they couldn't find my paper work, which they handed back to me when they told me to wait. And the guy still told me that my time is being wasted and I will be denied my updated id. Kept being asked where on the certificate was my new formed last name. I just kept replying that there is no box for it, and that the ss office approved it. Even had the paperwork that showed that its processing.  The guy was sick of me and pushed me to the 2nd step, they took my picture of me crying, yes crying. Then waited another few hours to be called for the 3rd step. This lady was kind etc. And helped me and did her magic of some sorts. She told me she will help me get the A. Took a few more hours and then she asked for my birth certificate,  which the site didn't say I needed but when I did the original id years ago, the person never scanned my birth certificate. =/ After a few hours she had told me my id should have the A on it, but its not 100%.  But she was pretty sure I would get it. The area I lived in has a decent russian community, you would think people would be knowledgeable in this.

Only issues we had since then is, some how our mailbox inside says ***eza and not ***Eva or **ev. We easily explain to people what it is, and people just get it. Plus everyone likes the female version sounds compared to the male's.
We get mail that's addressed in the female last name all the time since I do the bills. I tell hubby that in theroy I could be called his last name with certain groups. We plan on creating wills and living wills as back up. I have old id's with my maiden last name to help tie the female last name to the marriage certificate.  My family finds it interesting that I have a different spelling of his last name, but cool at the same time.

Ps US passport was super easy when I got it in 2018. Showed them ssn card,  drivers marriage  certificate, even brought my former divorced paper work, which wasn't needed. Got a passport in like 4 weeks at that time with the A.

Pss. When we moved states, I gave them paperwork for his ver of his last name, the female ver, and also my maiden name is also listed. I only find it offensive when someone sends me mail in my former marriage's last name. I might have done a family move as well, did it all to cover us. Pretty sure the post office got annoyed with me. And yes my informed delivery moved address with me as well with no effort on my end.

Psss, if the extra does cause an issue we do plan on going to court to change it to the males.

We Sent in: 2 different banks Bank statements 3-4 every month. with bank letter verifications.
Electric and Gas in my name, Internet in his name.
Credit card statements showing we use them
IRS transcripts from their website, explaining how our names are shown, i plan on getting the snail mail copies of them for the interview.
HR&Block tax return to help support the above
Addendum adding hubby to the lease agreement with roommate on it
New Lease agreement and its renewal.
Renters insurance info with both names on it.
His companies New employments benefits and open enrollment print out showing I'm the beneficiary
Health Insurance Cards with the print out of some forum showing we had insurance for 2020.
Car Insurance print outs with cars listed that we have a joint loan with.
Car loan documents showing both names
Car registration showing both names, temp and yearly cards
Photo of T-Mobile account at the store showing My mother, hubby, hubby's friend and his wife, and I are all on the same phone plan and my mom is an authorized user.
Costco card membership holders with statements showing both of use them, so 3-4 months.

As for "Pictures" We sent in, Scans of the Envelopes of Christmas cards from my aunt and an old neighbor, recently found one from his coworker which will be saved for interview or incase of an RFE.
My flight confirm emails for when I flew to him to visit him after her moved to the USA and he went to another state for work.
His flight confirm email for when he took to me for the road trip to move to another state.
Entertainment tickets / hotel stuff when his parents visited us when we went to Las Vegas.
Disneyland email confirm tickets with both our names on it before covid hit.

PS: we have some photos of his parents and us together, but they will be saved incase for RFE, we just don't like how we look in general. We also plan on making out some wills in the new year or so. In the mean time I have a box that I have been throwing in that has our names on that are like bills and such.  As I'm typing this I wonder if I should have sent them photo copies of our rent monthly statements, but thought that was a given since our bank statements show the amounts and there was the lease agreements. Well if the need it I do have them all.  I don't work since I can't find anything in my field in the new state we moved to, and if there is anything its about a 90 min drive to.... SO I have nothing job related that has his name tied too.

PSS: also hubs found a job within 1.5 months of him moving to the USA, but it was out of state and in his career field, so he moved a head of me while I put in 3 months to my job. Lease was going to expire in about 3 and it made sense for me to stay working there to train someone instead of breaking the lease which would have costed us nearly 2 months worth of rent. During 4th of July holiday break, I flew down to him to visit. When it was time for us to move to the new state, he flew to me and we drove the 19 hours with what we could put into the car.

My husband was asked for his CV at his ir1 interview. I expected since they had asked for this for is past b1/j1 visas. Oddly enough hubby didn't expect it. We had our interview on Nov 28th, webgave them digital and hard copy with in a week. During this time there was a goverment shutdown. But on march 20th after sending the embassy many emails, we finally was told we were approved.

His business trips were to a major USA airplane manufacturing company to conduit training and business meeting, and has been offically working one (different company) on his greencard for about 1.5 months now. His AP was triggered because of his engineering degree from Ukraine and what he did in Russia.

For his B1/J1 visas AP took 1 month, but this one took us nearly 4 months. Again we had a goverment shut down, and the russian embassy is under staffed.

Did you guys at least submit what they wanted, sorry I might have iver looked you saying that you replied to the email. They requested my hubby's 2 times. Digital hours bafter interview and then the hard copy the following day.

CM&KV got a reaction from Singh90 in K-1 Refused at Montreal Consulate (Asked for CV)

CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in Marriage stamp in Domestic passport
My hubby and I got married in my state while he was here on a 5.5 month business trip. In his domestic passport it only has his divorce stamp. (He got this stamp after we were legally married in the USA, he was divorce by court not by administrative, papers say he was divorced about 4 months before our wedding date.)  And hubby has a visa to enter the USA, which will be in 11 days.

So having no stamp in my case didn't cause anything. Where did you two get married? Sorry if I missed where you stated the location. Depending on where you might want it to get the certificate stampped to follow the guidelines of the Hague convention so its recognized in both Russia and USA.

CM&KV got a reaction from FarrahIdir in Do they need the petitioner’s original divorce decree on the interview
My husband only printed out my copies of both original birth certificate and vital records, and the photo copy of my divorce decree. But he had 2 original marriage certificates that were issued from my county's court house. We didn't have any issuses regarding my civil docs. They only requested his CV. And we were appoved. But each embassy is different, our list of documents needed didn't say the petitioner's documents.

Unsure if this is the place for it...

After waiting 101 days of AP, our interview was on Nov 29th 2018, and sent a message via ustraveldocs from me asking where our status is at to help with this pain of waiting, and gave details that the paperwork they sent to hubby said our ap should only last 2-3 weeks, and a few other things as well..... Yesterday we were told in Russian, that our visa was approved and it will be sent out to him in 2-3 days. This morning our status changed to Issued, after 106 days of AP.

CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in Divorce certificate vs current marriage dates? Invalid marriage?
I should at least do an update.
Hubby had his interview on Nov 29th in Moscow,  we were to have it on Nov 26 but Moscow rescheduled us, due to being understaffed.
When he was handing over our original documents with photo copies, that officer was questioning our marriage certificate and stated he was expecting it to be in Russian, nor did it have the apostille since it was issued via USA government it shouldn't need it. About 4-5 hours later his name was called, they went over the paperwork and he was only asked 5 questions:
    When did we meet
    Where did we meet
When we last time saw each other.
What I did for a living
What he did for a living. (This caused us to go into AP)

At the end of the interview he was given a piece of paper stating he needed to go into AP and he would get an email shortly of what they needed from him. They requested a CV / Resume because of what he does for a living in Russia, its part of the TAL list. There was no indication of any questions asked towards our marriage date and his divorce dates. We have been in AP ever since Dec 4th 2018.... with many "Case has been updated" dates

Per email we received this morning from USTravel Docs after sending them an email about our status or where is it now. We got a reply stating that we got approved! and we should be getting his passport sent to him in 2-3 day. But CEAC still says AP. So we will see if its true hopefully in a few days.

CM&KV got a reaction from millefleur in Good news! Elimination of Additional U.S. Visa Issuance Fee for Russian Citizens
Hopefully this will mean they can start working on my case..... Been in AP since Nov 26th, they got the CV they had asked for on Dec 4th. Our last update was Feb 13th.... Was hoping for a Valentine's day gift from the embassy, and then defenders of the father land... now women's day.... sigh. The funny part is hubby's mom was born on the deferencers of the fatherland day, and my mom was the day after women's days.... been hoping to give our mothers a good birthday gifts.

P.S. We sent them an email nearly a month ago, and they told us we don't need to send anything else.... just wondering whom we are waiting on. Hubby's AP on J1 and B1, B1/B2 were always 3 weeks and a week later he got his passport with visa.
Hubby also had a coworker get his visa after 6 months of AP for the ds 5535, the visa was for a B1, which this coworker has had gotten in the pass.
Another coworker went to Kiev for the B1 visa, and got it within a week, no other documents requested.
I have been wanting hubby to get his parents the B2 visa, but it might be hard for them to get it, and they would have to go to Kiev since they live in Crimea.... yay politics....

I didn't know about women's day till my hubby( bf then) gave me flowers and cooked me dinner. It was awkward since I didn't know about that holiday and I don't ever expect gifts from anyone for anything, but I'll take random flowers any day.
