Oh yikes! We're actually in the KC Metro so I hope we don't have to drive to STL for ROC bio-metrics
It's not difficult to get to the STL office and they are really nice, but in my entire life (seriously) I've never known a time when there wasn't road construction on every major highway going into and out of STL on both sides of the river. Where did you go for AOS bio-metrics?
We are assigned to NSC with a LIN# for ROC and it took 8 months just to get to this point. At least the file has been touched so I know we'll hear something eventually

I thought KC was the designated FOffice for that area .. but you’ve obviously been going to StL
KC is the FO, but STL is the USCIS designated office for bio-metrics. Either way it's 3 1/2 hrs up and 3 1/2 hrs back. Sucks.

Yep. Sounds about right ! We are living in TX right now but moving to near Ozark in January .. the final stage of the journey to retire near our kids and grandkids.
You will be just down the road. We're outside of Springfield to the west.

I believe we are in the same area. STL is 3 1/2-4 depending on traffic.

We've gotta drive to St. Louie tomorrow for finger prints n stuff. Seems like all we've done for the past 3 years is pay money and go to STL.

I second that, very lucky.

She'll be on her way in exactly 9 days. That's when her program ends and she returns to her home country.

You have caller ID and VM, use them. With no kids there is no reason you need to take his calls. I think you mentioned he pays you alimony, so if it's paid directly to you, petition the court to have it changed and paid thru the court. Cut all contact and don't discuss him with mutual friends. It's only drama if you allow it.

Had a student flip my teacher BE itch switch today. Doesn't happen very often, but when it does . . . . . . it usually ends in tears, theirs, not mine.
I should explain that these are graduate students, aka adults and they know better. But every once in a while, we get one who thinks they know more than they do and when they realize they don't, they usually try to save face. Only it usually backfires on them, like today.

Time to call the insurance company and have an electrician check everything.
When I was living in MN our neighbors had lightening strike their house and it took our our garage door opener, underground sprinkler system, refrigerator and tv. The current ran through their sprinkler system jumped (arched) 2 feet in the ground and ran in our system frying it.

This, "the women who were abused by Weinstein, told that their careers would be over unless they gave in". You've got the wrong of the stick,. not over, made. This is nothing new for Hollywood. The casting couch has always been alive and well and not limited to only women.
I have my own Harvey Weinstein story. Early in my movie making days, the Weinstein brothers were the executive producers on a film that I worked on. One day the PM announced that Bob and Harvey would be making a set visit to check on their newest boy wonder director from New Jersey. After the production meeting the PM pulled me aside and told me Bob was a great guy, but to watch out for Harvey and not be alone with him. So any of these Hollywood types who claim they knew nothing about what was going on are lying. Including the so-called "victim" actresses.

Guess they had a little bit of a backlog.

Water weight gain. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I think some of these are down to pronunciation. I can barely decipher a spoken American then or than. My husband says "ben" (or it sounds like that to me), not "been". Vowels in America are pronounced differently.
With "then" listen for the main verb. With "than" listen for an adjective in the comparative form. "been" is usually pronounced as "bin" with the short vowel /i/ as in "pin"

Fall please. The 'feels like" here today is 112. Over it. I have one of those little kiddie pools, the molded plastic ones, which I got thinking the dog might enjoy it. She doesn't, wont go near it. The temp of the water it it today is really warm, like make a nice cup of tea warm.
ooh sun-tea. It's hot here too and we're under a heat advisory until after 9 pm.

I think we are both in the big bust club, so 2 suggestions: get a dress that fits the bust and have it altered to fit the rest or try eshakti if you have some time. I think the first is probably what I'd do.
Thanks for the eshakti referral. I found 2 things that I really liked that got the ok from my step-daughters. I ordered both of them, one is a navy blue long sleeve jumpsuit in chiffon to wear to the Marie for the official ceremony and the other is a long dress with a sweetheart neckline and 3/4 sleeves in a mauvey/pinky/purpley color. Now I have to find shoes, but I've got time since we're not leaving until mid-Nov.

Besides today's public rant, I tend to cry in silence, wishing for a syntactically perfect world. 😅
I know what you mean. I see so much incorrect grammar, syntax, spelling and word form errors from students that on here I just read right over it. I've learned to turn the "teacher" off, but sometimes it drives me nuts. Not so much on this thread but on others. And speaking of other threads, hats off to those of you on here who are Mods, because sometimes I can't make head or tails out of some of the posts due to the English deficiency.
I have a friend who asked me to proof read one of her eBay listings to check for spelling and grammar errors. She had several, but my favorite one was when she described a vintage dress as being "sequenced".
Also, long over due congrats to new citizen spouses, sympathy to others who have suffered recent losses and hang in there to others who are facing very difficult life situations at the moment.

Someone just shot at my house. (turns out a pellet gun) but we could see anyone or cars out there so the Hillbilly went outside to see if some bird smashed the window. While he was peaking around the corner to make sure no one was out there they shot at him.
Hillbilly needs to go out there with a 12 gauge loaded with double-aught buckshot and pepper their behinds. Of course, he'd probably end up in jail.

Received my biometrics appointment letter today. Appointment is scheduled for Aug 19
I moved to a different state recently and had updated the address with USCIS online. Glad that the letter came to my new address!!
Did the envelope say DHS with a Lincoln, NE return address?? We got something coming in the mail today on USPS informed delivery, but I'm not at home.

It happens.
I got pregnant 3 times while I was on the pill because I was super fertile. No birth control is 100% effective. In the end my old man had the snip. Job done.
You're probably in shock. I'd play the role of non-committal step-mom. Early pregnancy is a roller coaster and what's needed is a steadying influence when emotions are high. Doesn't mean you have to approve or agree with decisions being made, just keep it to yourself or rant here.
thanks for the advice, that's what I'm doing. I did say(tell) my stepdaughters they were responsible for finding a hairdresser for me on the day of the wedding. Other than that, I don't have to do anything but find a dress and shoes stateside, which won't be easy. I've decided not to stress-out about it since I can't do anything anyway. We are going to take advantage of our time in Paris and do some material shopping for the remodeling work we're planning to start next year on the French house.
