You need to set up an account n both pages https://myaccount.uscis.gov/ , https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do and update notifications.

I think at the end of the day this will benefit everyone.  We will have to wait more until the offices open, yes.  But in the meantime they can be doing background checks and going along the process with everything else that does not need the fingerprints.  Once the fingerprints are taken, I'm hopeful everyone's wait time for the interview will be shorter.

    Hi GeorgeandGeorgia..

Any updates on how the appointment went or if office was also closed?

USCIS updated their website to show all ASC offices closed until 4/7/2020 as of 3/25/2020.

My appointment is 3/30/2020 and I live 2 hours away from Norfolk USCIS.. i have not received any cancellation notices online or mail..

I showed up for my BIO appointment today after driving 1.5 hours to Denver Application Support center since I haven’t  received  any cancellation notice but they are already closed on Mar 16. They put the note on the door saying they will reschedule. So please make sure you all call them before go.

Not all offices are closed. Currently, there is only 2 field offices that are fully closed, both in CA, San Francisco & San Jose and 3 other field support offices: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-office-closings you can check the website daily to see if other offices are added. Several other sites may be cancelling/rescheduling appts. to limit the number of people coming into the field offices at one time; but they are still processing cases. Unless you get a cancellation notice or re-schedule notice for your appt. before the day of your appt. you should still plan on going to your appt. Just make sure to check the above office closures the day before and the day of your appt. to make sure that the office isn't closed and if its not, then go to your appt. If it is closed, then you should have received something in the mail and/or online about your appt. being cancelled/rescheduled. If you haven't then I would be submitting an inquiry or calling them to find out why.

I feel for everyone who is caught up in this. Its impacting all of us in one way or another. Back when I did the k1 the waiting times for NOA2 had ballooned to 7-8 months at my service center and I'd feel the same feeling that you're having about those that didn't have to wait this long (I'd see others getting NOA2 in 30 days, because they were at a different service center).

When things are bad its always good to consider the good things you have - health, loved ones, plans for the future. In time we'll get through this and you'll be together. Spare a thought for those who have, and those who will lose their lives, or loved ones.

There is no way to wind the clock back 2 weeks, so no point dwelling on that. Just look forward.

Its possible some good might come out of this. The petty partisan squabbles that feel like they've ripped the UK and the USA in two might be bridged by this. We all rely on each other a lot more than we might have recognized.

A year or so ago my city (Wilmington NC) experienced the full force of Hurricane Florence, and it was pretty devastating for many here. But it also brought out the best in people - I liked my city prior to the storm, but there was a different feel afterwards that came from us all looking out for each other, and helping those that needed help. There was an appreciation for those who helped us - fire fighters, police, military, medics, even the guys who came from all over the country to help restore our power. We bought them meals, we gave them cold drinks when they were working, or we just told them how much we appreciated what they were doing for us. I gave gas to our neighbors who needed it for their generator - they gave us cold beer that we'd run out of (poor planning on our part). It seemed to bring us all a bit closer together. It seems strange that this might happen in the current situation when we're being told to distance ourselves from everyone, but I hope we salvage something positive from this mess.

they probably have way more important things to be worried about than someone being upset that they cant get a k1 interview right now
you pretty much answered why here. this is the priority, rightly so

From my experience working in a diplomatic mission... they are probably working more than usual.  Yes, doing unusual tasks, but working none of the less.  Some locally hired employees might have been laid off, but our locally engaged employees were part of the emergency plan.

So, no visa services for a little while; if it continues, they will set up another way to proceed, if possible.  But serving foreign citizens comes after helping American citizens and working on diplomatic agreements.  Best of luck to you.

Unfortunately, given the strain on resources that government's and economies will be facing worldwide, It's hard to see this being something USCIS would give priority to at this time.

My bio appt is on the 25th of March. However, I would still go.. to confirm if they are close. Because I know someone that went to USCIS for her interview even if they announced that they are closed for 2 weeks but it was open and she did the interview & passed  so I would do the same.. it’s not gonna hurt me to try though..

You might have trouble getting through immigration at this time, given they might think you’ll adjust your status while you’re over there. When I went over there last year while i was waiting for my NOA2 I was questioned heaps.

Also, With a travel ban in place, be careful because Australian consular assistance will be limited. Also travel insurance likely isn’t going to cover her if she gets sick in the US due to the current covid 19 situation. My K1 interview just got cancelled today and I understand it’s a super depressing right now.

You can leave the US at any time (if a flight is available), but you would have to re-enter via a CR-1/IR-1 visa......estimated time is 12-18 months (or longer).

In the real world, and not 90 day fiancé... Once you leave after marriage without AOS/AP your status is considered abandoned and the only option to come back is to file I-130.

The only thing i did different was scan again. it looked like better scan. more details were visible.

holding the document in hand. i could read either scan. but i guess they were just being really particular.

advice...if scan can be made more clear. then use best one. IMHO i really didn't see much difference between the one the accepted and the one they rejected
