    Hmm.

Did you and your fiance research the entire K1 process?  Many couples choose K1 because it's the first type of visa they heard about or the 90 day fiance show.  They don't seem to review other visas or look beyond the I-129F form for the K1.

When you first enter as a K1, you cannot work in the US.  After you marry your USC spouse, you cannot work in the US.  After you marry and submit for the adjustment of status, form I-485, affidavits of support, forms I-864's, employment authorization document, I-765, and advanced parole, I-131, you cannot work in the US.  After the EAD is approved and you get the EAD/AP card, which is currently taking 8 months from filing the I-765, you can work.

Also, until you get that EAD card, many states will not give you a driver's license.

With a spouse visa, CR1, you become a legal permanent resident the day you enter the US, with the right to work, get a DL, etc.

Very good news! I did see your original post back when you posted and thought it odd that it wouldn't be written somewhere in the decree. Glad to see that wasn't the case.

You are a survivor and a fighter. Don't forget that. People have different views on where the lines blur from justice to vengeance so try not to let others opinions get to you. As long as you can look yourself in the mirror each day and are proud of who you are that's all that matters.

Also please remember the ROC denial process is extremely slow and very long overall. Don't expect anything quick. Of course he can leave the US and surrender his status but if he chooses to fight for it, it can be years before it gets to a judge who would remove it.

Oh forgot to update you guys that the Judge did include Cruelty as Grounds of Divorce on the Divorce Decree. I guess he decided to put it on there in the end. #Thankful👏🙏

when rethinking all this ,  understand that it will not change your situation
as a mother ,  she will always want to be by her kids
as a  kid  they always want to stay with friends they grew up with
and when they marry,  she will want to be close to grandchildren !
and how does a man who assaulted his wife (or ex wife) have permit to have his kids on weekends!!!!!!
Here he would only be allowed to see them 2 hours a week under supervision (during work week) of child services

The I-130 specifically asks about your children.  The attorney should be reported.

This is a covid rule that was extended until march of this year. The embassy is the one who told me to return with his expired passport. There is no problem with that 100%.

CBP told me last year that U.S. citizens can reenter the U.S. with an expired passport by land, not by air.  The word from the airline that an expired passport is acceptable is suspect.  Before attempting to travel, get something, preferably in writing, from a supervisor at the airline on which you plan to fly (name, rank, contact information) AND get the name, rank, and location of someone at CBP whom you've contacted.

    Just a quick update!

To board a flight from Pakistan a covid test must be taken (and negative) a few days before.  My husband traveled back to Islamabad to complete the Covid test and fly to USA from there.  He flew Qatar to (stopping at Doha) JFK  (JFK POE was quick and smooth).  He was out of the airport after landing in under 45min (this includes getting off the plane, immigration and bag collection).

We both still feel like this is all a dream and so very Thankful!

OK, you reacted as confused and did not answer, so I will explain.

First of all, I assumed you are a male.  If that is incorrect, I apologize.

There are several hints in your post that this Filipina friend is an online friend that you have probably never met. If that is true, there also indications of a possible scammer.

Quote:  once he had made her dependent on gifting her money

And how did she live before she became dependent on his money?

Quote:  She would contact me in tears and tell me everything. Once she felt calm and he’d make another apology she’d go and end up back in his clutches where the cycle would begin again. It is a classic case of domestic abuse with the partner not leaving but without them ever having met even now.

Your friend seems to confide everything in you.  Why you?  So, according to her, she is dependent on a bad, bad man she has never met, and she confides in you, a very nice man she has never met.  (Using above assumptions).

Now you are a nice man and you don't want the bad man to have his way with her.  She can't get out of the relationship because she is dependent on his "gifts".  💡  You can fix that!  If you can just send her some money, she can hang up on the bad man and never call him back!  You will be a hero!

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Philippines and scammers.  There are thousands and they can be very good.  They can be stringing along many men at once and are willing to be patient to run a long con.  They are smart and often would be chatting with their friends about all the strategies that can be used to extract money from foreign men, like abuse and online marriage.  Dating sites and Facebook are full of these people.

If I am completely off-base and my assumptions are wrong, a big apology in advance.

When I read your original post, my spidey-sense kicked on.  Something didn't seem quite right.  I met my Filipina wife online over 10 years ago and couldn't live without her now, but you need to keep your guard up until you really know them and have met in person.

Yes you can move straight to a shelter. Arrange for one in advance though. You don’t want to land in the USA in this crippling cold without a place you’re going to straight away. Do you have a credit and rental history etc? If you don’t have those and money, you’re going to be stuck in the shelter way longer than a week.

Think this through very well. You might be better off taking the kids temporarily to a shelter in Finland then coming to the USA alone to get organized. America can be a very harsh place without a support network.

Sorry this happened, it does sound premeditated and horrible.  Fly to the US as soon as possible because part of his plan may have included notifying the embassy/consulate and asking them to cancel your visa for whatever reason he may have invented.  Once in the US, file for divorce with a good attorney and go after him for custody, alimony, and child support.  And take care of yourself.  Good luck!

    Correct.

messy is the right word.. we used to live back there and for undisclosed reasons moved back here.. which later he wanted to move back to the US so i paid for the immigration and his passport and plane tickets ect.. just for him to fly there and text me that he no longer wants to be with me. Everything was fine earlier the same day..
he knows our kids have already given up their school spots and i gave up my job and home for us to move.. this was premeditated for sure.

Fiancée arrived on a K1 and besides acting absolutely crazy, treating him as her personal ATM, she made it perfectly clear that she wasn’t in to him and needed him for the green card.
Poor guy let her run all over him and had excuses for everything.
It went on and on for weeks and months.
I think they finally went their separate ways but she really put him through the ringer. It was tragic.
