A 10 year old did not decide to go to a judge to get their age changed the parents did.

This won’t fly with US immigration - you are dealing with US rules and norms and not your country. Lying about something so fundamental as age on official documents is seen as deceitful and underhanded. Lie about your age on your Facebook profile not your official documents.

OK then go and get her documents fixed then - it’s the best plan. Hopefully she hasn’t submitted a diversity visa application with lies about her age on it.

They said they won’t deny because of you being older than your wife.

You wife having documents that say she is a different age to what she actually is they will deny her for - even if a judge signed off on it in her country based on her parents lying. They do background checks and will find out about the amended birth certificates and other documents. They will ask why and if they determine that she really is older than her new documents say then she will be in trouble.

What did she put on the diversity visa application - if she put an age she knows to be false or if she put single when she was already married to you then it will end badly.

Begs the question - If she and her family can lie about this then what else are they lying about?

How did you meet her? Married after meeting two months previously and with such a sketchy backstory, I don’t know man I would have run a million miles.

You say you didn’t want to cheat but now you say you are going to leave the false documents.

Welp if you aren’t going to listen to us when we tell you that you have to get her documents fixed to her correct age then what’s the point in trying to help you.

Dude - you know that she has a falsified document - even if it is an official document if there is a lie on it then it is still falsified and fraud. If you use it you can get in trouble as well as her. Fines and jail time - plus they may look again at your immigration journey if you aren’t us born citizen. I mean if you go along with this stuff maybe your own journey was shady.

You cannot mess around with immigration because it will come and bite you on the behind.

Take her original birth certificate to the judge and tell them the parents lied - get it fixed so that none of her documents has anything that you know to incorrect.

She must have gotten extra schooling because it now said she was younger than she was plus an unfair advantage against others taking exams and getting into college as she had more years before taking her tests.

Yeah I was super developed so my cleavage at 10 would have given me away 🤦‍♀️.

Something’s not right here. The cynic in me suggests the birth certificate has been altered not just to change her age (no idea why the parents would want to do that or why any official would allow them to do it) but to cover up something else. Was anything else changed on the new birth certificate (name, parentage, place of birth)? Or is the false one exactly the same as the new one, except for her date of birth?
    I’m female.

The more I think about this, the crazier it sounds. So, at 10 years old she was sent back to first grade because the parents changed her birth certificate to 6 years old? I’d like to think at 46 I could pass for 4 years younger but for a 10-year-old that’s very difficult. Six-year-olds and ten-year-olds of normal development look very different.

You’ve already said it shows an untrue age of 19 years old... you said you know that she is 23 and that her age was changed on her birth certificate..

this is fraud and misrepresentation of the truth and illegal for you to do

True but I suspect this is the wounded (ex)spouse posting to see if he had a chance of fixing it without her knowing, he could have divorced by publication and remarried if he claimed to not know where she was.

Below is the tale of the towel, one of the more entertaining threads that I hope isn’t real given the final development - she then basically smuggled the ‘niece’ into the country.

I understand that but most people would say father not biological father unless they were adopted or had a step father and want to differentiate between the adopted/step father and the biological father.

We have had people on here who wanted to help their biological parent get a green card but they were adopted so they couldn’t - no one in the family understood that it would be an issue when the adoption occurred so are very upset when they find out.

Kind of like asking how long is a piece of string (it depends).

But I think the old adage of hope for the best but prepare for the worst, be hopeful that you can get out for the date you want to get married but also look into the procedure to move anything you have already booked and don’t book anything more until you have the visa in your hand (and CFO fully complete).

Are you implying that an officer made you lie saying you had a job when you didn’t? because that is a very serious thing to allege

Or did you in fact have a job that was in violation of your student visa?
