He has no close family, his mother passed away a couple years ago and he doesnt really have any kind of relationship with his dad or sister so it makes sense to raise our family around my family. He fortunately agrees with me.

My husband is a very chill person and needs less than me in terms of emotional support so it makes sense for us to at least try England as I'm 5 years in now and still feel so lonely here, I just cant seem to make real emotional connections here or at least not enough to satisfy not having family. My husband isn't close to the limited family he has. All he requests from life in England if we move there is a local disc golf course lol. Seeing as the only thing making me hesitate is the climate I think it makes sense. Yeh the visa stuff will be a hassle but be worth it I think, and I have my citizenship so we can come back if needed

When I filed for n400 back in march 2018 I swear their normal processing times were 4 to 6 months and now its something like 9 to 18 months so when I sent a service request they fobbed me off with within normal processing times. Does this not seem outrageously cheeky to anyone else? It's like ordering at a restaurant and them saying your food will be 10 mins and then 20 mins later you complain and they say " oh well it takes 2 hours now"

Cam54 got a reaction from thatguyuknow in Before you permanently move to the US
I'm a british citizen and have lived in usa for 2 years on fiancé visa and now green card but am currently visiting for uk for Christmas and having the horrible realisation that life for me and my husband could be so much easier in the uk, no working 51 weeks a year in the uk, we also plan to have kids in next few years but absolutely can't in the usa because there is zero maternity leave for our jobs. I'm just wondering if it's entirely possible for me to bring my husband to live in the uk with me without having to move here for a year without him and providing the income proof alone seems like an impossible task so I feel horribly trapped in the usa now we moved there.

Once you’re eligible by date then the system qualifies your application and will give you the option to then pay at the end.

In other words, if your date that makes you eligible isn’t until May then when that date in May comes around the system recognizes your eligible.

it will allow you to keep it saved as a draft for one month

I know people will probably be annoyed at me for saying this but if he has no record and no longer smokes then why give yourself the aggravation of it possibly being an issue, I personally would use my discretion for that question and say no, no prior drug use.

The right to vote against Trump is nice in theory but living in California we do a good job voting liberal as it is, maybe I should move to a swing state where my vote might have more of an impact lol.

I think ultimately the real reason I'm put off is I don't like how this country is run in terms of public institutions, no real maternity or work benefits by law etc but moving home is no longer a reality so I have to suck it up and for the sake of my future children and security in this country citizenship is necessary

It was up to you to adjust status, yes technically your partner is the filer but I put together all of the paperwork for mine and literally only had my husband sign his name, I took it upon myself to be aware of the process and legal aspects as ultimately it is myself that is affected most if anything goes wrong, my husband knows little of the process and yet Iv successful applied for k-1, AOS and ROC without his help. Basically what I'm saying is learn from this situation and appreciate that you should have been more proactive in your application and you should have understood that paying for AOS was THE most important thing you had to do and finances are not an excuse especially when you knew there was a fee prior to moving, take ownership of your joint responsibility in the mistakes that were made or you won't learn from them.

Eurgh I'm such an idiot, i somehow missed that I had to include the biometrics fee so now have to wait for them to send my application back with insufficient funds, glad I did my application as soon as the 90 day window started!

Thanks for your stories, I guess if I dont feel ready to go back after the 6 weeks full time I can just purchase Obamacare until Im ready to go into full time employment again. I dont think Id move to the UK to have the baby because you cant really fly in third trimester and I wouldnt want my husband to miss any time with the baby.

doesn't seem very constructive to at the OP for lying, the fact that they are same sex means they had hurdles that the opposite sex couples didn't so cut them some slack. People In love panic and do silly things to stay together
