Calicolom reacted to Family in Bahamas Tourist Visa to US
Switching embassies = Recipe for Visa Denial
Ghana b2 visa. Anyone have any experience?
This is a recipe for how to get your visitor visa refused. If you become a resident of Sierra Leone and then immediately apply for a US visitor visit (B2), your application will be evaluated on the basis of your strong ties to Sierra Leone -- which do not exist. And, they can't use/evalulate your ties to Ghana because you have just told then you no longer live there and, therefore, have no strong ties there either.

Calicolom reacted to powerpuff in How do I file a complaint about NVC
Right. I guess all of us here who have completed K1 just lucked out, got to bypass the system and didn’t have to submit anything to NVC. But have fun being in denial!
I’m OUT of this one. Can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Once again, good luck with the process.

The only thing NVC does for you as a k1 applicant is to issue a case number. You do not upload anything to NVC, you have to carry your supporting documents to the embassy.

Calicolom reacted to Redro in Does filing for AOS give you authorized stay in the US
Your husband should be the one managing his mother.
1.) He should explain the immigration process to her.
2.) He should be defending you when your mother-in-law is being nasty
3.) He should tell her to stop referring to you as "the illegal".
I would not engage with the mother-in-law if I was you~ Just tell her "don't talk to me like that" and walk away.
You probably aren't going to win her over... or change her mind and it shouldn't be your job. It is your husband's job.

Calicolom reacted to African Zealot in Did not list child on i-130 form can I now petition for them
It existed before Trump however enforcement was very very very low and discretionary. Trump upped the ante through Operation Janus and Operation Second Look which actually started under Obama. He also created and recruited a bunch of attorneys to work on specifically revocations of citizenship.

Calicolom reacted to Rocio0010 in Hidden cost of processing a K1 Visa
You have to shop around for the medical exam. Different doctors, different fees. I paid mine not more than $200
That’s been written over and over here in VJ

Calicolom reacted to mytruelove18 in Affidavit of Support question. Desperate and scared.
Sorry for your situation. How old is your husband that is living with family?
it is supose if you came in a k1 visa back then he needed show affidavit at the consulate stage to soonsor you.
sorry that i ask this: what kind of man is he that sll those years he didnt help you to aos? , why he gave the money to his family instead of help you , your wife?
is his family more important than you?
If you are living with his family then you dont have a big rent payment, so why not save money and send aos package Before?

Calicolom reacted to Crazy Cat in Income requirement for spouse visa if sponsor is retiree
I didn't work. You can use retirement pensions, Social Security to prove current annual income. Otherwise, you could find a well-qualified joint sponsor.

Exactly the same. I am speaking from personal experience.

Calicolom reacted to Crazy Cat in DQ to Interview Mumbai 202
Once your case was document qualified, you entered the queue for that consulate. Do you realize that the consulate has a backlog of cases wanting an interview? THERE ARE PEOPLE IN FRONT OF YOU! When your case reaches the front of the queue, NVC will schedule the interview, notify you, then send the case to the consulate. It's time for a reality check. Patience is still the key. Good luck.

I wonder if some people even realize, the responsibility of signing the I-864. In fact, you are putting your whole financial life on the line.

Calicolom reacted to pushbrk in Marriage, child no father on birth certificate
No, and the I-130 is a "petition" not an application. When the petition is approved, the beneficiary of the petition is invited to apply for a visa.
Your initial questions are answered. Now it is time for the US Citizen involved to come here, set up their own account, then study the spouse visa guide. THEN, download the forms and their instructions, and become an A-Student of them. This is a do it yourself site, with emphasis on DOING and SELF. Lots of homework to do. We'll be here to answer his A-Student questions.

Calicolom reacted to pushbrk in Planning on Submitting a I-130 & K-3 soon and had some questions..
I haven't yet read later responses, but. I recommend filing the I-130 on paper, by mail or courier. My reason is because there are still bugs in the online form. It works though, so to each it's own.
One does not "file a K3". I presume the OP means filing the I-129F. When you do, you submit the evidence again, but because the I-129F for spouse is going to get administratively closed anyway, I would file it with just he minimum REQUIRED supporting documentation.
The reason I WOULD file the I-129F is that SOMETIMES when they pull the files, to close the I-129F, they go ahead and approve the I-130 while it's in front of them. This can save several months in the process, or save nothing.
The OP would be well advised to study the CR1 visa guide here on VJ, and become an A Student of the instructions for the forms they will actually file.

Calicolom got a reaction from Boiler in My F2A case for my wife and kids stuck since 2017
People will very seldom tell you the truth, about there Immigration journey. Most at the time they forgot what they went thru, in the immigration process. My best friend is from Pakistan, He told me about his and his family's immigration journey, I knew it could not have been the way he said. He just forgot most of what he went thru.

Cannot be done.. She will never board the plane. If that was possible, all US airports would be flooded 24/7/365 with people from all over the world seeking asylum..

How is child #3 a USC if he was born in 2021 but OP became a citizen in 2022?

Calicolom reacted to SalishSea in My F2A case for my wife and kids stuck since 2017
Do you actually think you can pass along citizenship to a child who is born to two non-US citizens?
