Do I need to write a letter on behalf of the applicant saying I financially support them during their visit?

No. The applicant needs to show they have the money to support themselves and show strong ties. It comes down to the CO confident that the applicant will return to their country. Showing strong ties is vital.

There is no sponsorship for B visas.  The applicant will have to show strong ties to home country in order to be approved.  There is no role for you in the application.

Nassau is 134 days

That's why OP is going there. Of late, Bahamas has been talked about because a lot of people are trying to use it as a trampoline to US.

@e-l-l-e you need residency there to use that embassy. No shortcuts

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Switching embassies = Recipe for Visa Denial

Ghana b2 visa. Anyone have any experience?

@swisscantmissI heard couple people transferred their cases to Freetown Sierra Leone.. the wait time there for an interview is only 180 days. I believe you have to get a resident permit there, which doesn’t take long. Most were student visas though, so something to also look into. And it’s visa free for Ghanaians.
good luck keep us updated.

This is a recipe for how to get your visitor visa refused.  If you become a resident of Sierra Leone and then immediately apply for a US visitor visit (B2), your application will be evaluated on the basis of your strong ties to Sierra Leone -- which do not exist.  And, they can't use/evalulate your ties to Ghana because you have just told then you no longer live there and, therefore, have no strong ties there either.
