This is probably a weird question but this is on behalf of my friend who is asking me and I told her I will try to ask the very helpful people here in visa journey.

So the question is, is it possible to block a person with a tourist visa from entering the US for the 3rd time.  The person she wanted to block is someone who causes them emotional problem every time she visits US.  She claims that this person is destroying her family and causes so much drama between the family members.  Yes, it's a personal and family problem. Please let me know and will gladly share your advise to her.  Thank you.

She needs to file for a replacement asap and not leave the country until she has her new card or at least a I-551 stamp in her passport.

Nope. Entry of a visitor has nothing to do with a US resident. As others stated, if the circumstances necessitate/merit law enforcement, then that is the avenue to take.

If the rest of the family agrees that that person is a nuisance then don’t invite him/her into your homes. It’s that simple. Block him/her in all of your social media. Don’t let one person cause that much stress on all of you. If he/she shows up uninvited to your home, call the police (?).  Unfortunately, you cannot have his tourist visa revoked, unless he/she commits a serious crime while on US soil but again that’s the decision of the authorities.

No, and it’s illogical to block someone from entering US just because somebody doesn’t like him. Family drama exists everywhere, block that person from entering the house or from talking to family members. If it’s in a threatening way, contact  police.

No she can not block someones VISA.   If she is being harrassed she needs to contact law enforcement.  She may be able to get a no contact or restraining order.  If that is violated then the offender could be charged with a crime and then the visa might be in jeopardy.

nothing you can do. not liking someone does not matter.

if they harass you or cause issues while they are here, contact law enforcement to get a protective order against them. you would have to be able to PROVE the harassment.

THAT may affect their tourist visa, but again you have to be able to PROVE it. not just say 'this happened'.

Agree with others. This is not an immigration issue and this person cannot block another from using their valid visa. If there is harassment, the law should be notified and an contact with this person should be avoided.

She can't block someone from entering the country with a tourist visa.
What she can do, is block someone from further affecting her life by not seeing her when she's in the US, blocking her on any social media accounts/telephone calls/emails/etc.

When it comes to family drama (we all have it in one way or another), we can't control another person's actions---but we can control how we react to those actions.  Easier said than done sometimes, of course, but if your friend doesn't like a person she can simply just stay away from her whenever she's here visiting.

Just... dont hang out with that person if you dont like them? Call police if actual harrassment is happening.

One of the requirements of most work visas is that you have to pay the prevailing wage, obviously meeting that requirement and all the on costs of employing someone, we are talking a lot of money, so I assume this is not an issue or the OP would not even be considering the possibility. Only a tiny percentage of the US population could consider doing that.

iMean reacted to geowrian in Is it possible to get a house worker in the Philippines?
Even the B-1 visa with a domestic employee annotation wouldn't apply here. As much as you want a relative to take care of them, that's not how US immigration works. Jobs go to US-authorized workers first, then overseas aliens. There's not a visa that would really apply here. The closet would be a J-1, but I doubt they would do so for a relative.

I suggest seeking out the help of in-home nursing/caretaker services.

It's doubtful you could bring a relative on a visa to provide caregiver service to your in-laws as that is a job that could be done by a person already here.

I understand you would prefer a relative to provide that service but it's hard to bring someone on a visa for a simple job that could be done by anyone.

iMean reacted to britishandusa in Is it possible to get a house worker in the Philippines?
Unfortunately, there is no visa for a case like that. That is a job any American can do.

You can try for a J-1 visa (au pair) but the relative must first find a DOS sponsor which is a difficult and lengthy process.

iMean reacted to SusieQQQ in Is it possible to get a house worker in the Philippines?
    Agree
That aspect aside, I’d tend to think even if some kind of visa existed if it’s a relative like this the US would tend to look at it as an attempt to undercut a US aide on price, sidestep family immigration procedures, or both.
