Bed Visiting Separate Bedrooms

My spouse and I have lived together since 2020, but ever since we got a bigger apartment (2-bedrooms), we each have our own bedroom both for comfort and because we each have so much stuff we would have to use the other bedroom regardless to store our things. I also use my bedroom as a studio. My adjustment of status already approved in 3 months with no interview, so we never had the opportunity to explain our living situation, and now we're going to apply for removal of conditions. So we never had the opportunity to address our living situation. SO now were wondering if would be a red flag if we had a USCIS visit and they saw the two bedrooms. I know we could easily explain that on a proper interview but if there's a bed visit, that would concern me I think. Any thoughts?

So, why not use thr other bedroom to store the stuff you have and share the other? 

 

Having and sleeping in different rooms isn't a problem. But the reasons for yours are questionable 🤔

None that I can think off. We have a long history together, but I heard those visits can happen at random.

We have a lot of legitimate reasons, for example, my husband works in night shifts in law enforcement and he keeps his guns in his closet because I'm not conformable with guns, also the fact that I am a very light sleeper. Those are things i could easily explain on an a proper interview.

Generally, home visits happen AFTER an interview. 
I think you are overthinking the issue. 
If your case was approved without interview this means the evidence you submitted was strong enough they did not doubt the relationship was bonafide. 
USCIS has no way of knowing you sleep in separate rooms unless you tell them. 
Are there any other “red flags” that make it seem like you are roommates and not spouses? 
Are you both on the lease? 
Do you share a bank account/ credit cards? 
Do you file taxes MFJ? 
What about cars and car insurance? 

if you are really worried about USCIS visiting you can always move into one bedroom/ move a bed out of the second bedroom until you get 10 year GC/ citizenship.

As others have mentioned, USCIS usually conducts home visits when they suspect fraud. The fact that you got approved for your conditional GC suggests the evidence you guys submitted was strong enough to convince them of the legitimacy of your marriage. When it comes to your removal of conditions, the chances of getting an interview seem higher if you weren't interviewed for your AOS so I would expect to be called in for an interview. Note, this is not from first-hand experience, just from what I gathered in this forum.

 

Everyone's living situation is different; if you and your spouse are in a legitimate marriage (it seems you have solid evidence to back that up, too), and you choose to sleep in separate bedrooms for reasons that are nobody's business but your own (well, and USCIS', should they ask you during the interview) then you have nothing to worry about imo!

The truth is that the days of home visits are almost over. USCIS is swamped to their eyeballs in cases. I wouldn’t worry about those, particularly since you’re legitimate.

Jim had a classic on 2 days ago, in this case this guy had been visited and was trying to prove the opposite, that he was not cohabitating with an ex wife whilst married to a USC. As he explained it they lived at opposite ends of the building. I envisaged some massive mansion with one of those very long dining tables, turned out to be a 2 bedroom apartment.

 

Now this does sound more like that standard US Film from the 1950's arrangement.

It was 2 days ago and I think around 40 minutes

 

Just watched yesterday and another good one early in the show, guy got naturalised divorced wife married second wife and sponsoring her but still living with first wife.

My husband and I sleep in separate bedrooms because I am a light sleeper and his CPAP machine really bothers me, but the no machine option is way worse. 

I am a USC now. It had never crossed my mind that we'd have to explain this in a potential home visit (we never had one). If we did, I would have been happy to explain them our reasons. Heck, if they wanted to they could spend the night with us and they'd see first hand what I am talking about! Hahaha

 

PS: The CPAP machine does not wake me up. What wakes me up is the windy sound it makes every time he wakes up to go to the bathroom. No thank you.

My wife and I sleep separately.  She and I are light sleepers, and I snore (she says) .   The subject never came up during our I-751 interview.  This is not something worthy of worry, imho.  Good Luck.
