Hello,
I'm a green card holder from Egypt. from a year ago.
and i want to bring my finances here (I will marry her in 2 months). she is in Egypt
so is there any way to bring her to the US? is there any way to bring her faster? and how many years should we wait till she gets here? is what kind of visa it should be K-1 or K-3 ?

Thank you so much

Welcome to the forum!

If you're marrying her soon, it would be an I-130 petition for the CR-1 visa.  Wait until you become a U.S. Citizen.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Oh! Have I to wait 3.5 years? to bring her here? wow! is that right?

If you petition as a GC holder, it’ll be about 5 years and the category is F2A.

You can also file now and when you become a US citizen, you can convert it into a IR1, spouse of a US citizen.

wow!!!!  5 years?? oh my god! is that right?? impossible!

That’s correct. Green cards for spouses of GC holders are numerically limited each year per the law which creates a long backlog of cases.

It is what it is, which simply "is".  So, "possible".  Could be faster, but no guarantee.  Marry, file now, and upgrade after Naturalization.  Should save a year or more.

I just came here almost a year ago. I got frustrated. that's insane.
even if she comes here with a B2 visa?

If you’re suggesting that she enters on a B2 with the intention of staying, that would be immigration fraud.

If you’ve not held your GC for even a year yet then it’s likely to take about the same amount of time whether you’re a GC holder or apply for citizenship in 4 years or so.

Your wife’s category will be F2A, you can keep an eye on the Visa Bulletin once you’ve filed to see how it’s moving forward - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2024/visa-bulletin-for-january-2024.html

As you can see from that, those that applied in November 2019 have visas available to them now.

If you get citizenship, her category will change and spouses of citizens are Immediate Relatives, so no wait for her Priority Date to become current.

Good luck.

she already has it, i mean if she comes here, and i marry here. is that gonna make it faster or we can't do that?

Make what faster? The process takes this long, there are no shortcuts.

Thank you all,

i have another question, if we got a baby while waiting, he or she will travel easily with his/her mom?

No. A baby will actually complicate things.

Only US citizens may petition fiances for K-1 visas.
And she can visit on a B-2, but she won’t be able to stay and adjust status.  Not only is it fraud, but there is no visa available in that category even if she was already in the U.S.

There is no way for you to circumvent the wait times.

Did you not research any of this when you decided to pursue a green card???
