Dear Community,

I have received a RFE on my i130. I’m in the US and my spouse is in Nigeria. I would like to know what you all suggest for submitting chat history. Our WhatsApp chat history dates all the way back to October 2017. How much should I submit? For example one conversation per month of the time period? One per quarter? I’m definitely not interested in doing one per week. Gosh this is such a task!!!! Please help. Thanks in advance.

We were asked for chat history during the interview. We submitted screenshots dating from when we first met, and then 6 month after that, and 6 months after that until we covered all the two years.

we submitted 160 pages of screenshots, each page had 6 pictures of iphone pro max screenshots of chat.

i hope this helps

I think it probably easier to export chat than to take screenshots. Especially if you want to send a lot.

Some chat applications don’t have the possibility to export chat.

Also, whatsup does not allow to export media with the chat.

anyway, the screenshots worked for us perfectly.

We did screenshots for consulate interview, too.

My husband and I use Skype which don't let you export media. I just submitted 2 or 3 screen shots of our chats and talk history per month since our relationship began to the time I filed.

We are doing the exact same thing during rhe months between filing and his consulate interview, except he will bring those with him to the interview.

Congratulations! Please when did you apply for i-130? How long did it take to be approved?

You can see all of that on OP’s timeline.

Thread closed as OP indicated petition was approved after the RFE.
